Icon library
PersonalBrain should come with a default set of icons to choose from for adding to Thoughts.
Included in TheBrain 8

Adding a set of common icons is interesting, but not so much as providing a system (library) to manage our own icon collections. The same applies to colors: A library of already used colors, please. As far as I know, currently it's necessary to manually copy the color # (from other thought, for example).

Yes. Libraries of icons would be very useful, specially for most common PIM tasks. Maybe some icon designers could be interested in providing free icon sets with an option to purchase premium collections.
In addition, I would like to be able to assign more then one icon to each thought. And see them on the plesk. For example, the web icon, a custom icon, and the type icon.
Currently, assigning a thought type overrides the custom icon. I'm going to suggest this feature separately. Please vote for it if you like it.

I also use iMindMap and find the build in images very useful. Sure everyone has their own personal preferences but the fact is that a set of a couple of hundred categorized would go a long way to helping people get started. To be honest, I would even pay an additional $10 if it were an add on pack.

Having a set of icons without any IP issues is needed. In the 'Guide' brain file I'm developing and publishing to webbrain, I associate the website and save/import the icon file into the .brain, so you are documenting for attribution purposes, have the icon file if it's no longer available. There can be multiple links/files per thought, which I set up in the format "Thought Type, widget". This allows you to copy a Thought Type into another .brain

Yes please - icons

The trouble with this idea is that everyone's choice of icons is very personal. Adding an icon set simply increases download time and doesn't help those like me who simply regard icons as eye candy. I agree with twospoons. Maybe people with icon sets for download by others could post them on the forum?

In terms of icons I would like to see a preview of the the document webpage, etc just like Opera web browser to show where you might go with a thought or where you have been with a thought!

I think icon library is good to also link it to personal messages and or videos, music lyrics, movies, video sound bits , speeches. This would improve the association bit of remember what stimulated that thought and where, why and how , and finally where someone would what to go with a thought and it's pattern. I looking forward to you including this.

I think also is not a priority to have built in icons.
For Luke P: you can associate an icon to a type and then using the report you can search for that type/icon. -

I can't believe so many people are voting for this idea (currently ranked 8th).
You really would rather have the brain development team drawing some default pictures for you than working on enhancements to the actual functionality of the application? You already have the ability to add ANY icon to ANY thought. Is it that tough to cut/paste a picture on a thought?

I love images and this would make PB more attractive and usuer friendly, to me at least.

Take a look at Mind Manager on how to implement this to be effective. Basically you have:
1) Ability to define icon groups, e.g. icon for started, in-progress, completed - only one from a group can be assigned, clicking on icon in the node will switch to the next one in the group
2) you can search on the icons
3) you can label icons per graph and generate a legend out of them -

yes, good idea. And the ability to add one's own icons to the library.
