   To have the possibility to add a new metadata to the thought that is Time. This should not be the creation date but simply a date added by the user.
   Thoughts can then be visualized on a timeline. It will be nice that links will be visible in this new view of the plex.

   May be this is a big implementation to insert in a new version. But I think will be very usefull to add a new dimension to the Brain.

   I work with medical data that has its own structure which does not lend itself to the current sorting features. If the other features of the current release were not so compelling in other areas I'd be back to good old PB3 in a flash for that feature alone. I'm begging here! ;-}

   It would be nice to be able to define types of nodes with associated properties. For example, maybe an "event" type node with properties such as "name of event", date, duration, etc.  I could also envision a "person" type node with name, birth place, birth date, etc... more

For example, maybe an "event" type node with properties such as "name of event", date, duration, etc.  I could also envision a "person" type node with name, birth place, birth date, etc.  Yet another example could be a "research" type node with the name of the research paper, lead author's name, university affiliation, date published, names of other collaborators.

   I imagine that the structured data structures would be relational and this would facilitate logical data-base oriented queries beyond tagging.  For example, find all research papers published between 2001 and 2002.  Find all research papers with "cognition" in the title and "Jones" as lead author.

   Find all people born in a certain state during a certain time.

   I am thinking about the query capability to make it easier to do more interesting investigations (especially for users who may not have created the brain)

   This would replace carrying brains around on a memory stick etc.

   (Note: While Personal Brain In A Cloud might also facilitate iPhone app, PB on handhelds, collaboration/sharing and real-time collaboration, these potential benefits are secondary to my request). I have seen some of these "secondary" (for me) suggestions but not my primary suggestion already mentioned here.

   Names for this functionality -- which I envision might require a new version and might even come as a separate product release tier -- might bechosen from among the following:

I think it would be useful if each link could have two types depending on reading direction and this could be shown by changing the links to arrows. By showing the arrow-heads you could easily see which links that have been typed. I also want to filter the link types e.g. "employed_at" would give me all companies and persons.

    Will enable opening multiple web pages, PDF's and MS Office Documents inside Personal Brain. Avoids the need to keep swapping in and out of of external applications. Mindjet Mind Manager just implemented this in its new Version 8...

    I would like to be able to print the results of the Reports tab including the notes of each thought in the report. It would be even more useful with some basic report formatting capability, but I would be satisfied with a hard copy print or export to text file of the Reports tab.

    As they did it in MindManager! At least, please allow drawing / writing in Notes. It will be very good for all Tablet PC users. Now we see more and more touch screens even in netbooks, Tablet features are embedded in Vista and Windows 7, so many people will appreciate such possibilities :)

    Allow hyperlink in notes to link to thought in plex; clicking it should bring up the thought in plex

    We can now hyperlink to www or other docs, but why not into existing thoughts in the brain? This would be a very useful feature. I frequently write notes and wish I could hyperlink directly into the plex.

    This is by far #1 limitation of the software. The search, filtering, and reporting capabilities seem too 'unfinished' or 'disjoint'. I can search nodes with words, but not report on them, I can report on some attributes, but not search on them, and I can't filter based on my searches... A powerful and modular searching would tremendously enhance the usability of the software when you have thousands of nodes.
    Why not rethink the whole search paradigm and make 3 main changes:

    1) Modularize - look at search in Toodledo. Simple, yet very effective. You add additional sub-querries to make searches mode selective e.g. I could create (and SAVE) a search with these 'mini-searches' combined:

    Creation date + is greater than + date (note: drop down lists change based on context of the previous list)
    AND
    TagName + is in list + 'myTag1, myTag2'
    OR
    TagName + color is + 'red'
    AND
    ThoughtName + is like + 'some text'
    AND
    NodeType + is not + 'Book'
    AND
    LinkType + is in list + 'reads, reports to'
    AND
    CustomAttribute1 + isLessThan + '1000'

    (Custom type is a separate request but combined with this ability it would take the software light years ahead in terms of possibilities).

    2) At the very least, if implementing a GUI is too much, PLEASE expose this via a query language

    3) Finally, the search results can be presented as an outline (report), clickable breadcrumb list (search) and/or can filter (or at least hide) the non selected links and/or nodes

    If such functionality, along with custom attributes is added, I'm willing to pay a higher price for the software. Those two are also the main reason why our company is holding on purchasing many licenses of the software...

    Is there any chance that we can see this in 5.0?

    make linux work fully

    I changed to Linux (Ubuntu) and my brain ain't working the same as in Windows.
    No Drag and Drop
    No color changes
    No templates

    Is there a time frame to make linux fully empowered?

    FYI, the color changing problem under Linux has been fixed for the next release. Also, templates do work if you grant PB permission to modify the contents of the program folder.
