   BUG?: 5.5.1.0 Paste Web Link Accelerator Unavailable!

   It's suppose to be under Thought, but I couldn't find it there nor anywhere else. Maybe I overlooked, but I did triple check. Maybe I'm tired. Can anyone confirm?

   For users with more than one brain or when both a current and beta release are installed, PB's feature of always trying to open the most recently accessed brain (and in a version-insensitive way) can be inconvenient (annoying) and may result in an un-intended database conversion.

   Possible options:

   1) a user Preference to not load automatically at startup

   2) command-line option /noload to allow PB to be run without loading the last brain

   3) keep separate MRU lists by PB version so that when running PB5 (for example), it won't try to open a PB4 brain.

   4) Prompt the user when opening the previously-opened brain is from a different version of PB

   In short, cure PB of this O-C behavior.

   More keyboard accelerators needed please

   1) Move focus to Reports Pane
   2) Refresh Reports (equivalent to button)
   3) Filter Reports based on Thought content (equivalent to button)
   4) Move focus to (Ext/Adv) Search Tools pane
   5) Clear Results (in Search Tools pane)
   6) Unlink (selected, non-active) Thought from active Thought.

   I hope my idea of a brain is the same as that of PB team, because otherwise it seems I'll often be sent to hell because of the mismatch of our views!! I WANT A MASSIVE CENTRAL BRAIN FOR EVERYTHING!! Not many ini pitsi ones!!! This means the features has to support for example finding the right thought quickly no matter how big the brain is. And now explaining the problem:

   Normally prior to this release, the quick search result entries --dynamically displayed directly above the search terms while typing-- would show the parent of the IF there are at least TWO OR MORE IDENTICAL thoughts! This way I could find the match I'm looking for much faster. This behavior has stopped!! No I have to guess and when I'm wrong (which is often) I've to redo the search and go!! I hate this, very much.

   For example: Software > Company X AND Software > Company Y AND Software > Company Z; Me
   The last one has two parents! The thought called Company Z and the thought called Me. Now it just shows Software Software Software. And this is only the tip of the ice-berg! …… sigh…. the pain… the horror...

   This is not the first time PB team has removed a feature that was working fine, from my experience. If this is their way of checking out how many users are actually depending on a certain feature (for their own statistics), then it's not really a "user friendly" method!! If it's meant as an insiders joke, then let met surprise you by saying IT"S NOT FUNNY!

   A more probable reason is that it's in their way and they didn't expect anyone depending on it OR it's simply a mistake which I certainly hope so.

   Either way, I want it back.

    Home, PgUp, PgDn and End keys to store Thoughts

    You've already given us the Home key as a quick way to return to whatever Thought we set to this key.

    PgUp, PgDn and End are all close and handy and don't seem to be doing much in the Plex right now. How about enabling us to assign other Thoughts to them?

    With a Tag Thought in the Pin Area, an ordinary Thought active, and the cursor over the Tag Thought, now you hit F2. Which Thought gets renamed? The Tag Thought. Confusingly, it renames from Blank, not from its real name. And it only renames in the Pin Area; it still links to the correctly named Tag Thought. If you unpin and repin, the name reverts to match the Tag.

    You can't ordinarily rename a Tag Thought via right click or F2. And where you can, the name changes all around; it doesn't differ in the Pin area from the rest of the Plex.

    This seems a minor bug, but I've actually gotten burned by it, clicking on my pinned Tag, then arrowing (rather than mousing) through Thoughts under the Tag, renaming the wrong Thought via F2, especially easy to do with the outgoing name not displayed.

    Normally I could drag & drop a contact from the Outlook Business Cards View onto any PB Thought to create a contact icon linking to that specific contact entry in Outlook. But this doesn't happen any more. I desperately tried other Outlook Views (like Contact Card , detailed, etc..), which never worked before (but just to be sure), but predictably they didn't help the situation either.

    The Outlook PST resides outside of the brain, so it can't be a conflict introduced with the new limitation that prohibit linking to a file inside the brain. Although if that was the case a prompt should have been shown, but in any case, it's defiantly outside the brain.

    Change the shortcuts in Mac OS X in Notes to standard

    Thanks for improving the Notes for OS X. One major gripe though: You've used the wrong shortcut for "Copy". It should be Cmd+C, not Cmd+V — which is the shortcut for Paste. So if you could please change Copy to the correct shortcut and add the shortcut for Paste, that would rock.

    Activate from Reports or Selection Box by pressing Enter

    For a long time we have been able to navigate up and down Reports and the Selection box OK by using the Up/Down keys, but for some reason have been unable to use the keyboard to activate the selected Thought by pressing Enter! We have to pick up the mouse each time to do this.

    And when I change the Set Pin Accelerator to another key-combination and then back to the original key-comb I had earlier, then only the Set Pin Accelerator works. And here too while both the setting and removing works from the context-menu all the time.

    Bug - when thought length is too long, size increases on mouse-over

    On a thought with a long title, the title is shortened until a mouse-over even at which time the thought expands to the full size of the text.

    On a thought with an attachment, this makes clicking on the attachment icon impossible.

    User can still get to and launch the attachment through the Properties and Attachments tab or a right-click on the thought to get to the Properties and Attachment dialog box.

    But the one-click attachment launch feature cannot be used on thoughts with long names.

Combining it with a SHIFT or CTRL or not using it is a workaround, but using it alone within an Accelerator is desired. Perhaps a way to remove the delay?

    I remember the ALT+arrows for back and forward working fast before the upgrade, perhaps the lag is newly introduced.

    Build & deploy a portable version of PB that can run from a USB device (like Ultra Recall can).

    Over a year ago I gave up using PB in favor of Kinook's Ultra Recall. UR's UI leaves much to be desired, but UR is truly portable.
