New Window feature
I want to request the New Window feature, akin to the same feature in MS Office products. I've searched around for a little while for similar suggestions, and found one that is too expansive compared to what I'm requesting (http://thebrain.uservoice.com/forums/4597-thebrain-feature-suggestions/suggestions/96843-open-thoughts-in-separate-windows-save-windows-as). What I'm suggesting might be covered through some alternative feature, but to be sure I wanted to describe it separately.
Currently most users have no need of such a feature, because they're using multiple Brains and are opening multiple instances of TB. But that doesn't take into account single central Brains.
At a first glance it feels like this feature is unnecessary for TB, because one can enlarge the window in Expanded View to have more room for more grouped Thoughts. And I can switch between those groups with the Saved Expanded View (SEV) feature.
But thinking further from there, I like to be able to have one monitor load one SEV, and the other another SEV, etc. And for that, the New Window feature is needed. Switching between moderately big SEVs is far from as instantaneous, even while using high performance SSD with plenty of JVM Heapspace and Video Memory (if it would matter). And it's otherwise also not possible to see separate SEVs simultaneously.
I've had many instances that I wished I could just leave the current Expanded View open, and just open another one on the side without bloating the current SEV. Thus keeping the amount of thoughts in SEVs smaller than otherwise, focused on specific topics, rather than becoming another random SEV.
For users using central Brains, using multiple Brains as a workaround is often not an ideal option. Exporting portions as new Brains to be able to switch between multiple SEVs separately on multiple screens, would fragment the Thoughts. Not all Thoughts would be possible to link to without additional lag of TB instance load-up times, nor with the minimum steps required while using a single Brain.
Thank you in advance.
