I agree. Shapes that show on screen and in printed output

Sometimes the term mindmap is used with respect to tb7, but I'm afraid I don't think it really qualifies. I love tb7 and also several mindmapping tools. The difference is that in true mind maps you can get a visual hit that engages via images, colours and shapes etc. these are memorable, whereas plexes are great flexible, fast and powerful structures, however the limited ability to show shapes and non-transitory attached images makes for a totally unmemorable view

The closest thing available to this right now is to add the contents of the report to the selection via the Edit menu. Next, select Edit > Copy as Text Outline with Notes. You can now paste into Word, etc for formatting and printing.

Thanks Harlan. I'm aware of this functionality and do use it frequently, but its a pain because it needs so much intervention to distinguish thought output from associated notes, to individually cut n paste from every link with a description etc.

This really does need some attention to bring this aspect of tb7 up to scratch
    Thx

This is such a weakness of an otherwise great tool. we spend all this time building up a fantastic knowledge base and then have to resort to practices from the early 1980's to try and build reports and decent quality outputs to use in documents, presentations or spreadsheets etc .... i.e. the way most of the world communicate ideas.
TB7 is unbelievably powerful for capturing, exploring, linking and detailing thoughts but when it comes to outputting its a nightmare.
need to be able to properly crawl thoughts and output relationship titles and descriptions as well as the thought themselves. Child thoughts in outlines need to be distinguished from the notes associated wit the parent etc etc ...... please, this wouldn't be a "sexy" feature but a really solidly useful piece of missing functionality

I completely agree. Fantastic on screen application let down by minimalist poor looking output capability.
I use PB pretty much every 5 mins at work to collect organise and analyse information, ideas etc and also use it as my task master. Problem is that I need to share some of this info with non PB users in a printed form.
Invariably this means exporting the thoughts needed into something like word/ excel and then having to format, adjust and spend time generally making it presentable. Please improve and provide some simple output improvements... perhaps outputting to word templates as an option, better printed output etc
Also I'd love to be able to have option to output relationship titles (where defined) as well as thoughts
