Yeah, I suppose it is kind of the same idea except that I want to keep the individual thoughts intact during and after. I just want to COPY the attachments to another thought. The Merge sounds like it would destroy the original thoughts for the new one. It would be part of all those 'batch' functions that were being suggested in those threads.

This seems like a very good idea. May move a vote over here for this. And while they are making this feature they need to include the global switch for viewing tags.

I can see value in this, especially if one is inclined to put the "attachments" pane along the horizontal axis in order to look at all the file data (date, size, type etc.)

Really? Cause it has always been that way and a quick read of the instructions will let you know what that is for. I would hate to see the real estate lost to a label since it really is one of the first things you figure out.... don't mean to rain on your parade so much..

I'm currently out of votes but you get my support for this one. Especially if the calendar function in PB is improved upon some then I can get away from Outlook.

well, Harlan showed me, he actually moved the first version of this suggestion to the "completed" tab. NOT!!! So it is good that it is restated here.

and now that I am done ranting I see that you are the same guy that suggested it. Is there no way to edit the first posted suggestion? Or delete it? I am just thinking about somebody voting for the one and not the other. I assume Harlan and the gang can figure it out but it would cleaner... Again, I carry on....

This was already suggested and commented on by several users. I like it, by the way, but this brings up a question about how this uservoice thing should work. Is there anybody that is supposed to consolidate the ideas? Should everybody take the time to familiarize themselves with some 200 suggestions? Huh, I'm just ranting.....sorry

He just wants the search features of PB to actually search on virtual folders. That way if he isn't able to move all of his files into the brain proper he can still search for them on the hard drive. I have often thought that would be a great feature myself. Indeed, the possibility of using pb that way was one of the reasons I got pb3 (though it didn't really work the way I wanted).

This idea could be combined with a "Drop Zone", a place to drag or save random files, notes, whatever that are unlinked. You could create your thought right there or drage something in. Then link it up whenever you decide where it goes. I use a pinned thought to a virtual folder for my drop zone, but it would be good to have a spot on the plex to show them and be able to link them from there.

Is this different than crawling brain to a certain level, copying the selected thoughts and pasting into a new brain??

if you drag an entire category of tasks into a parent thought and they become attachments with active links the you should be able to open the P&A pane, select all the attachments(links) and drag them out under the active thought and thus create the individual children. The part about those thoughts having other links to other thoughts might be a good feature

Any chance this could get another look. I think if there were some way on the selection window context menu to "collect attachments" then copy them into a new thought then they could easily be moved, copied, emailed whatever from that thought. Then when you are done with them you simply delete that thought but all the original attachments stay in the original thoughts.
