After giving it some more thought, I've come up with a better idea than Reports > All. When the accelerator opens Reports, the focus should begin at the top Thought on the Reports list. This not only provides a constant anchorage for this pane, but also enables the user to return to his previous settings.

After giving it some more thought, I think we *also* need a KBA for Reports > All to complete the picture and provide an anchor point. From there on, keyboard or automated navigation to other parts of the Reports pane would be straightforward, without needlessly opening, then closing, the Custom Report window first, just to achieve this.

The alternative would be to make the same kbd accelerator that we already have, that shifts the focus to Reports, shift it to Reports > All each time it is used. I did submit this earlier, then withdrew it as it might discriminate against users who wish to return to the same focus point in Reports that they left, without starting all over again at All. We need one or the other, but certainly in addition, an accelerator for the Custom Report window as it is buried so far down the Reports menu.

Thanks for giving this your consideration. I haven't got enough votes left to make this a separate UserVoice request.

This is a very valuable suggestion IMO and should be given priority. For additional discussion, see http://thebrain.websitetoolbox.com/post?id=3675943

I think I understand what you're getting at, but can you please give us a more exact idea by posting a thread about it in the Feature Suggestions section of the forum, with a pic (diagram) and post a link here in UserVoice back to it?

I understand what Harlan is saying but don't view this as a reason that password protection cannot be introduced now. If I wanted to send an encrypted Brain to someone, I would make sure that any file attachments used would be in a password-protectable format, such as PDF. That would only leave Notes and the Plex itself. Surely that wouldn't be too difficult to password-protect.

While you're at it, please reverse location of the auto-hide icon so it's on the same side as where you click to hide PB. E.g., if you auto-hide PB to the Left, put the icon on the right to make it easy to hide/unhide without dragging the mouse to the opposite side of the screen.

Better, make it a floating icon like a dropzone, or hide PB by dragging mouse to one side or corner of the screen.

A forum thread has been raised about a keyboard shortcut here:

Thanks Hans. I agree pressing a shortcut such as Ctrl+D should insert date/time into both Notes and Properties & Attachments.

A very good idea. Something like Ctrl+1, Ctrl+2,...Ctrl+9 for bookmarks and Alt+1, Alt+2...Alt+9 for pinned thoughts should do it.

You can already view this information in Reports by sorting on Date Activated or Date Modified, also by filtering within date ranges. Admittedly, this is not displayed in the plex itself. But how would you highlight these in the plex without disturbing fonts and colors currently allocated to thought types? Maybe by assigning tags?

Thanks Harlan, I didn't know there was a separate forum for this. Have done so.

Thanks JJS, but even the profile doesn't show threads with 0 votes. I have worked out a way, though, and that's to click Top, then Show More (at bottom of page) about 10 times till all topics are listed and "x topics not listed" doesn't appear. There's no Show All link, but it does work!

In fact, "Your Ideas" is a misnomer and should be changed to "Your Votes". It's not a list of MY ideas, it's a list of ideas submitted by anyone on which I expended a vote.

(afterthought) or maybe it's because Your Ideas holds a maximum of 10 items and the ideas it lists are ranked with greatest number of votes at the top? I've submitted more than 10 ideas, but since none of my ideas have scored more than 1 vote, I wouldn't know if this is the reason. Plz advise and help me search for earlier submissions.

Maybe it might be clearer to add that Your Ideas list on UserVoice shows only the ideas that have 1 or more votes and excludes those with 0 votes. I need to be able to search for *all* the ideas I submitted to avoid repeating myself.
