i had forgotten that i am a member of this forum, until i received notice of the latest posts. i stopped using PB about 6 months ago, because of frustration with the interface (user defined sort order, thoughts moving to different positions when adding a new one, expanded view non functional, etc)..

i would vote for this, but i don't have any points left. i have voted for 'user defined sort order', assuming that user defined meant that i could have different sorts for different groups of child sorts. i realize that i could do this in expanded view, except that expanded view has its own idea of what thoughts i should be looking at, opening thoughts that i have closed. so i don't use expanded view.

i often have to turn "activate last created thought" off or on. at least put it in the list of possible 'accelerators'.

i currently have use another program, onenote, for todo lists, and managing projects, since PB doesn't seem to work well for this (at least i don't see how). i can make outlines in Onenote, move lines up and down, etc.

i like the idea of having some tags only associated with certain types means having to look through fewer tags to find the appropriate one.

i currently am using onenote and evernote, in addition to PB. trying to see which will be most efficient for information gathering/retrieval. or combination of them. i would like to be able to "send to PB" as a right click menu item from most any program. being able to pick a thought to add new items to, when saving, would be important; so some PB facility would have to be part of the "send to" feature.

i agree with op. i don't want thoughts expanding just because i activate them. i have to activate them in order to modify them in any way. this shouldn't be interpreted to mean that i automatically want to see all off the activated thought's child thoughts.

this bizarre behavior also activates when loading an expanded view. if i go to the trouble of eliminating some thoughts from the view, and saving the view, why would the developers think that i would want them to continually pop up. i have to think of this as a bug.
