@Sven - you might be interested in this: http://thebrain.uservoice.com/forums/4597-thebrain-feature-suggestions/suggestions/110474-make-the-brain-scriptable-in-os-x

I have to admit, I like your examples as they are clearly platform independent so perhaps a new suggestion all together is justified - if you create one, I'll put votes into it for sure.

@Sven - wow! love your automation mind! thanks for being so articulate w yr examples - i can totally see how this would make my own implementation practical!

I agree with @tilmanb - while I hate borrowing the term from Apple - we could have an AppStore and developers decide for themselves whether they want to publish things for free, paid, etc. TheBrain Technologies could get their 30% to keep the AppStore running smoothly :)

it's 2010 - is there an API? I need the sophisticated PB UI for managing the datastore- for my community - I'd like to design a simple UI or even render dynamic pages using such an API...

    I found this interesting initiative:

    http://atos.net/en-us/home/we-are/zero-email.html

It's time we think outside the email box and consider how the TheBrain be our new home :)

I've moved my request for Thought Discussions for TheBrain here:

    http://thebrain.uservoice.com/forums/4597-thebrain-feature-suggestions/suggestions/4134729-thought-discussions-for-thebrain

Please vote so we can have our discussion on UserVoice *in* TheBrain (ie. no need to open up your browser) and as a bonus, connect related thoughts! how cool would that be? :)

anything that allows me to toss email as we know it and start communicating with the outside world (ie those who prefer email) would be great. I specifically would like to organize conversations around thoughts in TheBrain (I mean this is how it works in the real world, yes?)

I'm not an expert with Mac OS X Automator - might it be able to do some of the things you are considering?

as an aside, your wish for an iPhone client has come true :)

command line shell scripting would really rock whether it be PERL, python, etc... yes - some of us OS X geeks are diehards in this dept :)

@Rodger: it's been about 3 years I think the product line has gone through some tremendous changes.

It sure sounds like we can do what you're asking today asking others to download the core product, yes?

if I'm not mistaken, they used to do this back in 2.x or 3.x... I definitely would like to invite ppl to download the viewer and see what's possible before installing the full version with the 30 day trial...

i think they moved it again: http://help.thinkbuzan.com/imindmap6/imm6-project-view

didn't watch the whole video, it almost put me to sleep.

I'm not convinced Gantt Charts are the way to go - i think our community has the opportunity to completely reinvent how we manage projects and tasks collaboratively through TheBrain and TeamBrain.

that said, I am a fan of having a "module" that would handle the "transactional" side of handling the details of a "project"

while I haven't adopted it - ResultsManager would be another to look at: http://gyronix.com/resultmanager.php Mind Manager itself has a MS Project integration I haven't quite dived into either. regardless, I agree with the request!

this would begin to "automate" (ie. autopopulate) a good chunk of our brains. I could see these items as Virtual Thoughts and leverage the way you can add a folder today

this would be awesome - the Expanded View is perfect for visualizing one's social graph and thus fits naturally with Facebook. blog entries are natural "thoughts" as well...

this would work similarly to Mindjet's new@mindjetconnect.com - please be sure, like salesforce.com, to specify multiple email addresses.

I really like the idea of a "holding thought" or specifying with thought is your "inbox"

the ability to also filter my brain by some weighted threshold would be awesome - it would be similar to seeing a view of my brain with just my "dominant thoughts"

optionally, one could factor in the # of times a thought is activated into the equation as well.

this was actually part of the 2.x release - it actually was quite decent to get started. however, now that i am back on the bandwagon and looking back in retrospect, I would say bringing a powerful context is *much* more powerful than the wizard creating what may be a "toy brain" at best!
