  1. Currently it's not possible to use Dragon NatuallySpeaking speech recognition software to input thoughts, text or instructions. This would be an enormous timesaver for inputting information and updating the Brain.

  2. Extend Private to hide thoughts from the plex and past thoughts list, not just the Sitebrain.
We also need an Options toggle command such as View Hidden Thoughts.

  3. It would be nice if there was a way to just directly upload from program to a persons WebBrain account rather than having to first save to a Brainzip then going to the website and then uploading it.

  6. webbrain.com is great for start, but as I understand it's "read-only". It would be great if thoughts (+notes) can be collected by mobile and put online as children of some default thought (inbox for example) of the brain.
Then definitely I'll be using only PB, and no need for EverNOte or OneNote :).
    (yes, evernote has this feature)

  7. If you use sitebrain export for rather large brains, uploading all the files to a web server is a tiring experience. It would be very helpful to have an included upload function (ftp, sftp) to directly post the sitebrain to the internet.
And please add synchronizing the local/remote files. This way only the changed files need to be uploaded when the local brain changes.

  9. When a PDF file is attached to a thought, PersonalBrain shows the first page of the PDF document as thumbnail preview. Just like when you attach image files.

  10. In 4.5.x the plex in a sitebrain export was relatively faithful to the plex viewed in PB. That the display order has been fixed in 5.0.1.5 to be alphabetical is very benefical. Much easier to find things.

In 5.0.1.5 the plex in sitebrain export still doesn't display the siblings. Parents, children and jump thoughts are displayed, though no siblings.

As one of the brains I'm developing is targeted for the web the missing siblings in 5.x will keep me on 4.5.x

    be well,
    Gene

  11. Currently the ENTER key opens the extended search. While a nice feature I use it a lot less then the instant search and select an thought from the found results list.

I prefer to have the ENTER key open the first thought in that list than opening the much less used extended search.

The extended search would still be available by using TAB key and then the ENTER key so it is more a choose which might by optional in the preferences.

  12. At the moment a mail from outlook is always linked. Even if you have set the option in the preferences to drop files on drag & drop.

I would like to see that drag & drop emails from outlook uses that same preference and generates a .msg file in the thought folder.

  14. A reply was given on another suggestion that implied that in Version 9 the user will not be able to choose the storage directory for their Brain.

Please do not implement this. It will make it impossible to store my brain files on a USB stick or on a corporate shared drive. It will also cause problems on systems with unusual hard disc set ups or UNIX machines where directories are mounted differently.

I appreciate that your intention is probably to drive people onto your synchronisation service but sometimes this cannot be used for other reasons, such as confidentiality of…

  15. you have a thought, e.g. 'Jennifer'
you attach some files to the thoughts, let's say:
    - jennifer.jpeg (a photo)
    - jennifer.rtf (quick information)
    - jennnifer.html (jennifer's web page)
Selecting the files for preview,a snapshot of html, jpeg or txt contents is taken from PB and pasted into the notes.
Anytime you visit Jennifer's thought, you can see in the notes her photo, info or webpage without opening source files in other programs.
But if you edit/change the source files, information inside PB notes is updated.

  17. In the real world, it is often the case that associations between people or entities change with time. For example if an employee was assigned to different project, or a member of a board retires, etc.

Thoughts describing these associations must reflect the real worl. So if an employee was assigned to a different project, the thought representing the employee will be linked to the thought representing the new project, and the link connecting the employee to the old project will be deleted.

But what if changes of these associations were valuable information. What if it is important to know…

While not exactly what was requested, TheBrain 9 does include History feature that shows every change that was made to a Thought over time (what thoughts were unlinked, name changes, label changes, etc.).

  18. In PB3, I could set a default font type & size for all thought notes. This was extremely useful as I prefer Verdana 8pt. Now, I must manually set each thought note when I enter it. This is VERY cumbersome.

  19. Allow typing the first few letters in the tag/type selection window to highlight the appropriate tag or type. This would speed up workflow, especially when you have a long list. :)

  20. The "Snooze All" would, like "Snooze", adopt the time set in the "Remind again in" field. Hint: To do this now, one must [try to] mark all the events [by first tabbing out of the "Remind all" field and then pressing CTRL+A or by some fancy mouse+keyboard work] and click on "Snooze".

It even looks like this has been intended by the developers: look at all that wasted space! You could put the "Dismiss" and "Dismiss All" buttons on the left hand side and "Snooze" and "Snooze All" on the right hand side.
