Illumintated notes based on traffic. This shows hits relative to other nodes based on activity.
All clicks are registered and updated in real time on the personalbrain and webbrain. by 'real time' I mean based on whichever interval the servers could handle. For example, updates every minute would probably be sufficient. Naturally, every brain gets different flow, so the user could adjust the intervals. Still it would be relative based on the interval. The algorythm would incorporate the sliding scales to necessary to reflect various magnitudes of interest.
It would be EXTREMELY cool to see brains getting "lit up" based on traffic. Clearly this has the advantage of guiding users to what is "hot" and what isn't
This doesn't mean what is NOT hot shouldn't be. It's just not gaining interest. perhaps there could be a way to rate the user.
For example, if one had a brain, and in part of it, it contained useful tips on black jack that were successful, you'd find a lot of users who were into that sort of thing hitting it. But, lets say this very same brain that contains the blackjack information also had information on Shakespeare or Plato. Not useful to many users cause its often over their heads.
In a post modern world, where the "reader is the author", how do we deal with the perception and interpretation of the user to create a quality map based on usage? The "voter", unlike our present system of governance, must be checked for "quality", "preference", "knowledge", "integrity", etc.
All this without being invasive.
In any event, I'm no software engineer, but sounds like a very feasable and relatively simple thing to construct. Having said that, I also understand the most simple sounding things can turn out to be the most difficult.
