It's not helpful that people can't find an idea because they search for the term "multilingual" and the search engine doesn't search the description and/or comments! This makes more votes less likely.

Let me reformulate and add some tags, I'm used to editing.

I've suggested this feature to be fulfilled in manner which is usable for multiple formulations too!! In my opinion, I've described my proposal in great details with the help of other users. It might be confusing because of my style, if that's the case, please feel free to provide some (little) feedback to help.

When I say currently, I mean for users like me still using v5.5.2.4, as I'm not sure whether this limitation still exists in v6.

Or over the intranet. The idea is maintainability in combination with sharing HUGE brains including attachments.

I see most of my requests have been served, thank you very much!!! Great job! The only suggestion remaining from my side is the ability to set the URI from where the attachments should be loaded which would be a copy of the original brain to become the source of the attached files. This way I can share my brain online and sync the files with 3rd party app, instead of having to export many GB's of attached files every time!

Here is my version (just a bit different):

I want to be able to add attachments to SiteBrain HTML exports without having to go through the copying process.

Please add an option to the export dialog to add the source URI of the root from which the attachments should be expected to be found. This way I can refresh my SiteBrain with 10000's of thoughts with all of the attachments setting the source URI of the root to the root of the where the brain folder (where the original files reside). This saves having to waist double the space and having file modifications be available without a new costly export.

Since it's a URI I should be able to set a UNC (intranet) or (S)FTP attachment source paths as well. In those cases I'll sync the files with a more efficient 3rd party application.

Just to get this addition to the request the deserved attention:

I want to add an addition to my request. Maybe you can add a fixer or automatic converter to the feature? That if it detects a Windows shortcut in a thought folder pointing to a file in another thought folder, that it then converts it to the PB file link.

And that I can drag an attachment from a thought to another to create the link directly without having to open the folder first to add the file.

Again just to be sure everyone else see this too:

Do remember to vote otherwise PB team won't know whether this feature is really needed by more than a couple of (supposedly) "fanatics". Although it seems this feature made it onto their engineer's feature list, it doesn't say anything about when to expect this! The more demand, the higher (I assume) it gets in their (at least mental) list.

Btw. using an Accelerator to open the thought folders is really advised for this workaround, which is why I'm glad it's possible :) thnx to PB team! Really a nice one....

    My forum update:

YES! at least I can move on with the migration, as I've found a good enough workaround for now. Although it will break if I move the brain. And it requires an additional step of opening the second thought folder instead of just one and dragging to the other thought. But it's not that bad for a workaround even after 1000's.

The workaround is to create Windows shortcuts outside PB after opening the individual thought folders. I won't move my brain soon, so for those links that will break I can relink after the feature is provided.

Btw. the idea is to mainly use PersonalBrain to organize ALL of my files instead of Windows Explorer/Directory Opus. And this feature is an absolute MUST for the migration to have the added value it has the potential for!

Being forced to add ONE attachment per THOUGHT to be able comment specificially on it is just STUPID! The only reason this restriction would be enforced is because it has implications which doesn't get the needed resources/priority to be dealt with!

It seems a feature I've requested actually exists which is added in 5.5.0.0-b as stated in the release notes

    http://www.thebrain.com/site/personalbrain/download/PB5.5%20Release%20Notes.pdf:

    More preferences added

§ Hide temporary and hidden files in Thought folders (default: true)

But that option/checkbox when is checked (which is by default) doesn't hide HIDDEN attachments (files in thought folders).

BUT you can choose any other one the list if you want. This wouldn't be necessary if you use prefix aliases like this "alias: thought name". This way if I type "alias:" (without ") which I've set uniquely it would select exactly the one thought I want to activate. BTW I've remember to post this tip after dyslucksia 's feedback.

A correction. Step 2 would actually become:

    2. press ENTER twice = press ENTER just once!
