Make the Pin bar full screen and/or two lines deep
With many people working on large monitors, the Pin bar could be much more powerful. Please consider making it full screen width. Part 2 is to make it two lines deep via pulling down with the cursor. Related forum post

I love the way Pins are a dropdown menu in the Web Client. That solves access to all the Pins in my list because I can scroll. Currently if I have more Pins than horizontal space, there is no way to get to them. Or add a set of sideways scroll arrows like in the history bar at the bottom.
I also like how in the Web Client Pin dropdown I can read all of the names because they aren't smashed together like my overfull Pin bar in the desktop.
What I haven't worked out is how to drag a link to a dropdown list of Pins. Maybe opening the Pin dropdown is a toggle, and it stays open with linkable Thoughts until you toggle it closed.
@David Hawkins idea to show Parents and/or Children for Pins is intriguing! Might break for heavily linked Thoughts, but it's still an intriguing idea.

I would like to see this to also be allowed to go the opposite way too. Having most of the UI hidden for deep work (without the use of presentation mode). Something like how ia writer and other "minimal" style text editors work.

I love this idea, and I would go one further. The "Layout" button has a Plus and Minus next to it. Put one of these on the pin bar itself. Change the + and - to be an up and down arrow.
When you hit the Down Arrow it expands the pinned thoughts showing what is below them. When you click the Up Arrow, it expands to include the row above the pinned thought.
Essentially you create 3 rows for pins. The pin itself, and the option to go 2 rows up, 2 rows down, or 1 row up and 1 row down, when expanded.
That way you can drag your links to the pinned thoughts, its parents, or its children when organizing your thoughts.
