I would love to have the ability to temporarily position Thoughts freely within the Outline view, almost like sticky notes on a canvas.

The relationships between the Thoughts would remain unchanged—a Thought would still be a child, parent, sibling, or jump Thought—but its visual position could be changed independently. For example, I could place a central Thought in the middle and arrange related Thoughts around it in a circle, creating something like a constellation or solar system of Thoughts.

This would add a spatial layer to thinking. Thoughts placed close together could represent a strong connection or relevance, while Thoughts positioned farther away could indicate conceptual distance. Even when the formal relationships are identical, their placement could show that I see some Thoughts as more central to the subject than others.

It would be especially valuable during brainstorming sessions, discussions, workshops, and when exploring a topic from multiple perspectives. Instead of only reading Thoughts as a hierarchy or linear outline, you could temporarily organize them spatially to see patterns, clusters, distance, and different viewpoints.

A “Reset layout” button could return all Thoughts to their normal Outline positions at any time. This means the spatial arrangement would not alter the actual structure of the Brain—it would simply provide a temporary, flexible way to think with and arrange existing Thoughts.

In short: the relationships define how Thoughts are connected, while their temporary spatial position helps express how they relate conceptually within a particular discussion or train of thought.
