Make it so much easier to create a note on the fly
I take notes on the fly using other products and it's a stupid shame that I rarely use TB to do so. Doesn't it make sense to laser focus in on a shortened process for users and potential users to be able to view TB as the ideal note taking product/service that competes head on with the plethora of note taking apps that shall ultimately disappear? I like the idea of The Brain Box being re-imagined as the in-box for ideas and web snapshots to be used later when using TB desktop or web client.

I've been using Braintoss (https://braintoss.com/). It's the lowest friction note capture tool I have. It loads in about 2 seconds, and I have it set up to automatically open a new note. I use speech-to-text or swipe type, and it sends the note (or image) to a pre-assigned email address. I can have several emails addresses and switch between them in the moment.
Why share this? I think there is something to be borrowed from how it works.
The email function works with any app that accepts email as input. I am emailing the notes to my task manager (Nozbe). I modified the Braintoss settings (standard feature, easy to do) to append various hashtags to the subject line which Nozbe automatically interprets as project name, category, and priority. Then I process them later.
All I'm missing is a way to send those emails directly into TheBrain or BrainBox. How cool would it be to tell TheBrain via hashtags to add the content of each email as a new Child Thought under a specific Thought or Type or Tag?
Braintoss also has the ability to attach to the email a .txt file of the same content. It is named like this: "braintoss-2024-10-06-23-07-06-note.txt". That also feels useful. I found if I drag that text file into the BrainBox folder on my desktop, I can then open BrainBox and use it to create a new Child Thought.
I will also mention that my task app Nozbe has a global hotkey on my Mac that opens a window no matter what program I'm in. I can type a new task, and then type a hashtag to see a list of tagging options. I can enter as many hashtags as I want. See attached screenshot.
Again, I only say all this because it feels like a lot of the parts are there to enable easier capture of notes on the fly without having to use other apps. Those parts just aren't all connected yet.

I have always wanted the ability to quick capture notes thoughts and ideas for later incorporation into thebrain. Currently it is despite the great progress on mobile devices still sub optimal.
I would like to see one of the following.....
- ability to use apple shortcuts to capture a note and handoff to brainbox
- use drafts app to handoff to brainbox
- have a direct brain capture to brainbox featurein many ways the shortcut option could be better as it has the potential to open up other ways of sending info to the brain
see the following

For me, it is ultimately about making it easier to quickly add a thought from an iPhone or Android phone into either the Brainbox or directly into the Brain. Now, the screen clip and/or direct Brainbox input mechanism from a phone is cumbersome at best.

You can create a node for each day, like a journal, and add your ideas to it, then if it's really important you'll link the day's node to your "deep" brain. If they made a BrainBox for Notes we would all just end up with an overflow of notes that we don't know what to do with.

Look at https://lazy.so, which is positioning itself as a Universal Document Clipper. No matter where I am, either on a website or in a Word document, I can select and capture something which gets stored in Lazy. In the capture window, I can tag, and even use AI.

I know TB referring sometimes to GTD by David Allen and I think as the creator of the idea is on track by letting Brain Box also be a kind of Inbox for new Ideas before they are added to a specific brain.
Otherwise the "brain homepage" could be further enhanced to have a direct "search" function and if no hit, let the user create new content in chosen brain, like the web clipper UI. -

Easier functionality to send text files from the Drafts app (agile tortoise) to the BrainBox or to a "daily note" would be useful (to me).

Fast capture is what's needed here

Hm maybe some stiky note feature, which is used outside the brain, and automatically imported to the BrainBox?
Would be great on Android Mobile Phones to take short notes, and use it later on for a brain thought. -

Recommend editing the title. "Closing the gap" I strongly support. Fast capture I strongly support. The two ideas aren't one single request
