Optionally hide crossing lines which clutter the Plex
Displaying crossing lines, particularly those which join thoughts above and below the (currently) Active thought can result in a messy and cluttered Plex and we ought to be able to turn them off.
Examples:
1) Lines connecting a jump thought (of the Active thought) to one of the Active thought's parents or siblings.
2) Lines connecting one of the Active thought's children to its parents, siblings, or even a jump thought.
Consider the active thought to be on the "equator" of the plex; we should not need to see lines that cross the equator, even if they're dimmed.
If you think about it, in most cases these lines don't need to be shown at all as they add very little information that can't already be shown by selecting a thought at either end of such a link.
The option to "Fade distant thoughts" doesn't go far enough IMO. We need at times to be able to display nothing more than than parent-sibling, parent-active, active-child and active-jump links to keep the plex uncluttered. What do you think?
FYI, these “extra” links are already shown dimmed at half strength. Also, if you want less distractions, you can turn off the display of all links entirely until mouseover in Preferences.

Alternatively, if you included the simple option to "turn off sibling display", this should block nearly all crossing lines

Thanks Harlan. Actually, that's what I already do - turn off display of all links. It's much cleaner that way. However, it can also be a bit disorientating. So I would still like to be able to turn off the 4 classes of links as posted above, leaving only links not crossed by any others.
