What features would make TheBrain easier
For beginners, TheBrain could become easier to use with a more guided onboarding experience and simplified default settings. A step-by-step tutorial that demonstrates creating, linking, and organizing thoughts would help new users quickly understand the basics. Pre-made templates for common use cases—like project planning, personal knowledge management, or journaling—would reduce the learning curve. Clearer visual cues, such as icons or color-coded categories, could make navigation more intuitive. Contextual tips and an integrated help assistant would provide guidance without overwhelming users. Overall, combining simplicity with gradual exposure to advanced features would make TheBrain more beginner-friendly while retaining its depth.

Improve the features of the to-do list. It is already much more powerful than a simple to-do list.
The current to-do list is highly underestimated, in my opinion. It should even be renamed or given a kind of “older brother” called a topic or highlight list (or something similar).
I mainly use the to-do list to “highlight” important sentences/short paragraphs within a (longer) note, and I even use different colors so you can immediately see what the thought is about. If we were able to display only those thoughts that are the result of a search, the to-do list window would become even more powerful. At the moment, ALL “ToDo entries” are displayed, which in my case already…1 vote -
Present an hour glass or other indicator when TheBrain is working.
There are times when TheBrain is working on a task and its unclear if its working, or not, or if its crashed/stuck (see other feedback I sent). Would be nice to have an indicator that lets the user know TheBrain is active.

Enable manual reordering of thoughts in Outline view
When brainstorming using the Outline view, the order of the thoughts should be able to be done graphically on the screen using the mouse. This is needed to enable prioritizing ideas. Also thoughts should be able to be elevated or demoted using the mouse.

Create, AI-Generate, and Share Diagrams Effortlessly.

New feature: custom font
To the dev team:
All the bundled fonts are for English. So this is not friendly for the Chinese content .
Can you add some opensource Chinese font as the bundled font
Eg. https://github.com/lxgw/LxgwWenKai/tree/main/fonts/TTF
The above font is An unprofessional open-source Chinese font.
Or can you add the function to import the custom font, then use the uploaded font for the content in Note panel?
Thanks a lot.

The notes and attachments sections open in separate windows.
I would like to have the option to split the notes and attachments sections into two separate windows. Often, when taking notes, you have to juggle between the web browser (to open attachments externally) and the Brain. With this setup, you could stay entirely within Brain and continue taking notes without switching context.
I could even imagine having the attachments section overlay or replace the Plex side panel, allowing full-length display of the attachment while taking notes—all within the same application.I believe this would improve the workflow.

Keep prompt input with output of AI
working with AI in the note section: when I customize a prompt I get an output however my prompt is invisible. For later actions I would like to remember how I formulated my prompt. So it would be of great help if the output would start with repeating my prompt.

Context-sensitive delimiter other than a comma please.
Being able to customize the "comma" delimiter would help provide clarity and identify purpose.
Thought > Child or Child > Thought
with other symbols like / @ $ or whatever.

Search for settings
with increasing functionality the number of options in settings tend to increase. With more settings searching for a specific setting becomes more tedious.
Many programs now have search functions for their settings so I can find a specific setting quickly. It would be great if you added that to The Brain.1 vote -

Clone (Mirror) attachments within a Brain
I only see this in Workflowy and for me and many of my colleagues it works extremely well. I do hope my "burning the midnight oil" doesn't make this idea seem totally silly. Oh boy!
