  1. One of the interesting features of Obsidian (and some other stuff) is the ability to deep-link to specific paragraphs of notes. I can write a note and link a statement to a paragraph in another note. Or, even transclude that other-note paragraph into the note I am writing.

In addition to this, other aspects of deep linking needed in TheBrain include:

~ Section anchors that would correspond with the existing section headers used in the TOC
~ Bookmarks that could be placed at the paragraph level
    ~ Transclusions (amazing!)

Please add these deep linking features to TheBrain? For me it's…

  2. Hi, I looked into the roadmap for version 15 and didn't see anything about dual screen support for TheBrain. Let me clarify, of course you can have two screens installed and have TheBrain running. But you can't choose to have the plex on one screen and the notes on another. This way you would be able to expand the visual interaction with both areas to the max.
I know there is a lot of people out there that are working on multiple screens, wouldn't it be a great idea to have TheBrain expand across your entire screen(s) field? No more…

  3. I use the BrainBox Safari and Chrome extensions a lot on macOS. In TheBrain 15 BrainBox is working better than ever. But, I rarely use WebBrain. To get a full-text capture (not just the URL) I have to (1) create a new thought on the desktop Brain, (2) wait for a sync, (3) wait for WebBrain to sync, (4) capture the page with the BrainBox extension, (5) from the BrainBox dialog in the broswer select the full text capture option, (6) select the thought I want the capture to be a child of (and hope that the indexing is finished),…

  4. I use TheBrain for work and at home on the same laptop. We are allowed to also use our business laptop for private aspects.

In this scenario I want to be able to use e.g. ChatGPT for my private brain, however for my work brain I have to truly make sure, I will only use local AI endpoints.

Thus, for me it would be a real advantage to define the local AI use on a "per Brain" level. Ideally I would have a switch per Brain like [Cloud AI] / [Local AI] / [No AI]

  5. Hello TheBrain Team,

I’d love a native daily journaling / calendar view in TheBrain.

Right now, to keep a daily log I manually create thoughts like 2025-12-17 (optionally under 2025 → 2025-12), link a Today thought, and paste a journaling template into each new day. It works, but it’s clunky compared to “open calendar → click date → type.”

    What I’m asking for:

Calendar view for a chosen journal thought

Select a “Journal root” (e.g. Journal – Daily Logs) and see a calendar.
Clicking a date opens or creates a daily thought (e.g. 2025-12-17) and its notes.
    Automatic daily thought…

  6. Use Cerebro to add events or reminders related to a thought. As of .509 we have to manually create a reminder or event related to the selected thought. For example, a reminder to do something related to the note in *** days. This would be much easier if we could say to Cerebro "Set a reminder on the timeline to check on the status of the selected thought".

  7. When making a child thought from a brainbox item and it already exists in the brain, the popup box (see attached) does not let deleting it from the brainbox. why not add a delete option to the popup? Also, it is not clear what is the move option;)

  8. THE OPPORTUNITY

TheBrain excels at what no other tool does: non-linear, associative thinking. The ability to model complex knowledge relationships — thoughts, links, webs of context — is genuinely irreplaceable. But when it comes to rich, freeform note-taking, especially on iPad, OneNote fills a gap TheBrain's current notes panel simply can't match. Handwritten annotation, stylus input, highlighting, visual page layouts — these make OneNote an irreplaceable capture tool for many of us.
The ask isn't for TheBrain to rebuild those capabilities from scratch. It's for a tighter coupling — so users can bring the best of both worlds into one…

  9. I would like to have the possibility to open attachments with a choice of program, not just the standard program. For example, I want to be able to open pdf-files with Foxit Reader for standard viewing, with pdf24 for editing, with pdf-Arranger, with Drawboard to make annotations.
At the moment, one hast to open the folder containing the attachment and open the attachment with "Open with..." from there.

  11. It would be helpful to be able to see how much of the 30GB online storage space is still available for storing remote brains.

I believe the issue I am having uploading a new Brain is due to its size and my remaining storage.

  12. When pasting structured export-formatted text into an existing thought that already contains recurring child labels, TheBrain 15 beta does not offer the prior copy/replace resolution behavior seen in v14. Instead, it creates duplicate or triplicate child thoughts immediately. This breaks workflows that rely on stable repeated structural node names.

  13. Making thought-based sharing possible
Currently the only way of sharing a brain is by sharing the whole brain with someone else, or make it publically available where the private thoughts won't be visible. It would be very interesting to share individual thoughts that can be added in someone else's brain, without making it public.
It makes sense, for example, since I could share a project I'm working on with someone else, which is linked to other peojects/people that the other one is not allowed to see (and vice versa).
Making a new brain and copy the thoughts is not the…

  14. I've been doing this with chatgpt where I add my extensive notes as training data and explore ideas with the AI in a oral conversational level.

the AI reminds me on the notes that I've written down but forgot about and the AI helps me compare and add to the ideas that I have

I'd like to have this feature with TheBrain.

  15. I propose that we create a search agent. It's simple. Let's say you search for a few keywords in the Brain. Once the search is complete and you have an overview of the thoughts that have been found. You can save the search to a search repository. When I add more thoughts, this search would continue to work in the background, adding thoughts that match the search criteria. When I go to the search directory and click on the search that I saved, it will instantly present me the new updated search results.

  16. Before I upgraded from TB14 to TB15, I could right-click a thought and it included the option "Copy Local Thought URL" in addition to "Copy Web Thought URL". This is very important for linking thoughts into text block and also linking thoughts from other brains.

  17. After the experience of the past 5 years people are moving away from large corporations; they no longer trust them. The drive towards independence and personal control is leading to Increasing numbers of people choosing linux. By releasing a linux version you will grow your business and contribute to greater levels of freedom & autonomy.

  18. Implement an "Advanced Search" button/capability where more than one thoughts (or fragments of thought names) can be specified. Example:
The Adv Srch form would open with one entry: a search box for entry of text, a dropdown button labeled "relationship" with values of parent|child|jump, and a button with a + to add an additional search entry line. Any number of search entry lines could be added. The default would be "all" logic in that the search would return all thoughts for which all the search entries are true. Perhaps an "any" option could/should be included.

  19. TheBrain isn't my primary todo location but I find it extremely useful, and lets face it, easy, to add them directly into the thoughts they apply to. But then they are a bit lost for me when managing my day. I want to be able to access them via MCP or API's directly so I can have them as part of my overall task management system. That way Cerebro could also work with them as right now it can't help me even from inside the brain!

  20. To the TheBrain Team,

Please restore the classic TheBrain 14 bottom timeline view (or provide an option to enable it in TheBrain 15). Many of us relied on that persistent timeline for fast, visual navigation of our work over time, and the current alternatives do not offer the same clarity or efficiency. Bringing this timeline back, even as an optional legacy view, would preserve long‑established workflows and significantly improve usability for long‑time users.

    Thank you
