  1. The ctrl+scroll functionality in the expanded view is rudimentary at best and frustrating for navigation. It does not correctly alter the distance between all thoughts at the same rate.

I propose a new feature be added to allow zooming in/out of the entire brain structure for easier navigation of the expanded view, (much like being able to zoom in/out of google earth and slide the globe around to a different location).

  4. ENDNOTE software is used by academia and sciences to formally document bibliographical references... used extensively by researchers as well...
EndNotes provider states "Millions of researchers, scholarly writers, students, and librarians use EndNote to search online bibliographic databases, organize their references, images and PDFs in any language, and create bibliographies and figure lists instantly. Instead of spending hours typing bibliographies, or using index cards to organize their references, they do it the easy way?by using EndNote! And EndNote Web is included with EndNote so you can collaborate with others easily. EndNote for Windows and Macintosh is a valuable all-in-one tool that…

  5. When dragging and dropping a gmail, the thought initially reads the subject line of the email, but then converts to simply "email from gmail" I then have to change it back to the subject of the email. Are you going to fix this? Also happens with google docs, first the title of the doc comes into the thought, but it changes to "welcome to google docs"

  7. Please can we have a toggle button on the notes toolbar that can be activated and deactivated to lock and allow changes to Notes. This prevents any accidental changes to certain static information and adds a layer of information protection.

  8. I would like to see a customizable toolbar at the top of PB. This is a standard feature of most applications and would greatly enhance the productivity of PB. Currently the primary interface of PB is limited by menus which while useful have certain limitations that a toolbar would resolve.

  9. Enable the option to define the sort order of child thoughts for every parent thought INDEPENDENTLY (and differently, as needed). This feature would override the SINGLE sort order for the whole Plex (selected using the already currently implemented strategy), on a node-by-node optional basis. My idea would extend the customize-ability of plex-wide sort order by Name, Type, Last Active, Last Modified or Creation date. While a distinct concept*, the feature proposed herein would be most powerful if it was also accompanied by a new user-defined sort order (see ).

  11. Allow If This Then That (IFTTT) to have rules that are able to:
The ability to create a thought
The ability to add a file to a pre-definied thought.
The ability to add a file to a new thought.
The ability to create a new thought with a hyperlink.
The ability to add a hyperlink to a pre-defined thought.

  12. I suspect that many users, like myself, have large amounts of information on external hard drives and other storage devices. These data can be connected to thoughts in the Personal Brain as virtual folders but the ease of working with virtual folders is limited because they cannot be assigned thought types, tags, or icons. I would like to find out whether at least the tagging feature can be added to virtual thoughts to facilitate managing information stored externally.

  13. I notice that there are a number of suggestions regarding the integration of various kinds of scripting language. A scripting language of pretty much any kind would probably allow the kind of functions that I am interested in. As well as allowing many of the other suggestions raised in this forum.

It's a shame that all of the requests for scripting mention a particular, different scripting language. It means that support for scripting is spread across multiple suggestions and so is not as broadly supported or recognised as it should be.

At the risk of spreading the support even thiner…

With multifaceted thoughts it will be possible to contextualize each thought; type, tags, notes and links could be assigned to a thought in a context, others type, tags, notes and links to an other context, ...

    Multifacettes examples :
    - One facette of the Bouygues Telecom company is to have been my employer, an other is to be my actual ISP and mobile phone furnisher,
    - one facette of me is to be a father, an other is an IT manager, a third one is a genealogist, ...
    - one facette of my sales process is to be…

  16. Could it be possible to add a scenario to the wander session so it is guided by a scenario instead of being random? Now the question remains, what are scenario's?

event driven - walk through all events chronologically
history driven - wander through the last X created thoughts sequentially

selection driven - wander through the selection buffer

tag driven - wander based on thoughts with the same tag
type driven - wander based on thoughts of a similar type
One should be able to save these scenario's or scripts?
    Timing of the scripts/scenario's

This idea was triggered by James Burke…

  17. I feel that Personal Brain is a much more sophisticated file explorer than that of any of the current operating system's.

I also feel that it would be very helpful, intuitive, & beneficial to have an option to override the operating system's default file explorer & replace it with Personal Brain.

  18. This would look like a number of Personal Brain Connectors to the many and varied Social Media Websites. At it's basic level it would enable the Personal Brain to create Thoughts on the fly from RSS Feed(s). In the Mature Version when I added a Friend in say FaceBook they would be added in my Personal Brain with the Right Click giving me the option to jump to one of their many Social Media Spaces. Social Thoughts would show the number of unseen subordinate Thoughts.
In short it would give me BACK control of my Social Space! (It is likely…

  19. Per jtmusky's forum post at: http://forums.thebrain.com/post?id=4176521&trail=#4
I was wanting the change the arrows in the accelerator to use control+"h","j","k","l".
This would enable moving the plex cursor (or move the plex in outline and expanded mode) without your hands leaving the keyboard.

  20. We have tens of thousands of very large image files (500 MB - 10 GB each, in compressed format) along with supporting text documents. For several reasons we would prefer to keep the images in a traditional file folder structure stored on a file server. Although we can drag the folder structure into the PB and create virtual thoughts, it would be enormously helpful to have the ability to search the virtual thoughts. Either as an addition to searching virtual thoughts or as a substitute, it would also be helpful to have the abitlity to use a "Jump" link to…
