Hi, I recently came upon your topic only to realise that it's 100% overlapping my earlier topic from dec 2025 on the usage of multiple screens in general for TheBrain. Your topic only focusses on the notes area but this multiple screen compatibility issue should be solved making it applicable for all window based parts of TheBrain.

Since having two topics on the same issue divides votes and lowers the ranking, I reached out for support from TheBrain to merge the two topics, only to hear that this is not possible.

So my question to you would be if this topic could be closed off by it's creator (Joel Bauert) in which case the votes could be redirected towards

    https://thebrain.uservoice.com/forums/4597-thebrain-feature-suggestions/suggestions/50785727-make-thebrain-dual-screen-compatible

That way it would end up higher on the priority to do list of the developers since both voting totals could be added (through recovering votes by ending a topic and revoting for the original topic).

    Regards,

    Jean-Marc

    Hi Brandon,
I just added a feature topic as you suggested, because I think your right, it deserves a separate topic to vote for.

Hi, an additional thought about links that occurred to me:
Wouldn't it be good if we would have the possibility to alter/change the start- and end-thought of a certain link? Imagine, after setting the colour and the thickness and the type of a link between two thoughts you realize that the end thought should be different... the only solution is to unlink and start all over again losing all property information of the existing link in the process. If the properties-window of the link had a reference to both endpoint-thoughts and it would be possible to change those into another endpoint-thought, then we wouldn't be losing the existing link properties when changing an endpoint... simple so it seems...
Of course pasting link-properties would be a good and fast solution also, similar to paste thought-coulours for example.

After several months of working with the brain I have the impression that there is more focus on what you can do with the thoughts than what you can do with the links between the thoughts...
You can order thoughts, you can't order links
You can select different thoughts with Ctrl Select or rectangle select, you can't select the links that way
You can paste the (copied) colour of a certain thought onto a selection of thoughts, you can't do that with the links
The general "shaping" of TB (thoughts and links) would benefit from a "match properties" functionality that you find in most programs
Putting the same focus on the links- as there was already put on the thoughts-functionality would for sure benefiting the functionality of TB in general a lot!

Support for these points from other users would be welcome in order to put these higher on the development-agenda of TB!

    Kind regards,

    Jean-Marc

Would it be possible to merge the following topic with this one, since there is (to my opinion) a 100% overlap with the current topic, which actually goes even beyond the topic to merge. That way the votes would not be dispersed.
    Link to be merged here:

#Harlan, Thanks for pointing to the historical context that I wasn't aware of. I totally understand your observation, but if the background was a problem why not just keep the text colours (or put an option in the settings that lets you choose what to keep in the note area)? To me this feels like you threw away the baby with the bathwater.
The same goes with the possibility to use different fonts and sizes... not everybody will need/like this... just put in a setting on/off.
I totally understand that not everybody that uses TheBrain is a mindmap fanatic, but "qui peut le plus peut le moins" (He who can do the most can do the least) as Aristoteles once said.

    Regards, Jean-Marc
