  1. You guys should add support of relative links, instead of absolute, in
attachments. My PB is within my Dropbox, as are many files I want to link.
With relative links, they can sync through Dropbox and WebBrain more
meaningfully. Synchronization is a little pointless if the files exist in
    new locations across systems.

  2. Similar to the many requests for porting to the IPad, I would LOVE to be able to use PersonalBrain, TeamBrain and WebBrain on the new business-friendly Blackberry Playbook

  3. As folders can't be included in Meeting Requests/Emails in Outlook - it would be good when exporting a brain it could be done to just 1 (one) "run-time" file that I can send on in a meeting request or email that the receiver(s) can open in a browser. The workaround by zipping the folder and adding the .zip/.rar to the email/request is not really sexy.

  4. How about the option of opening MS word within the PB notes frame and all the existing file naming and storage functions being retained and managed by PB as at present

  5. i go back and forth between my laptop and desktop quite often and keep my brain in a shared folder (yes at my own risk!)

it would be great if the personal brain created a "lock file" when I open my brain.

I realize this issue will be better solved when your v6 release comes out of beta and unfortunately, cannot use this release right now.

  6. I would love to use PB5 a lot more, but the notes editor is lacking some of the most essential basics... The first thing to change is rtf compatibility. Whenever I try to paste something into the notes editor, all formatting is lost. If I type the notes directly into the editor, copy them and paste them into any other program - again, the formatting is messed up. If there is a way to ensure basic rtf compatibility, please try it. Thanks.

  7. PersonalBrain proposes to follow natural thinking. But it misses one paradigma badly: independent thoughts and their branches. It is vital for developing ideas and projects to enter thoughts without any relationship to each other (hence independently flowting). Relationships may or may not develop later on.

The concept of having different brains is a workaround, but in many cases not feasable.

  8. I love PB5. I'm a die-hard fan. I try to sell it to everyone who sees it on my computer. I love that people immediately say "What's that?" when they see PB5 on my monitor. It makes me smile.

I want to use PB5 more! I want to use it everywhere. I want to be able to write directly into it instead of attaching a Word doc to a thought.

But I don't want to give up all the useful Word features either.

Please please please ... bring the PB5 Notes editor up to the standard of a basic word…

  9. We would then be able to use the same symbol with different colors to add discreet markers to Thoughts. PB allows duplicate names in Thoughts and Types, so why not Tags?

  10. With the beta release, the functionality "Export to Folder" is awesome. Now one thing missing in the functionality is the ability to syc the brain and folder.
i.e. If working on a project, you created a Brain File and exported it to a Folder structure for others to access the documents. Now there is no way to sync brain and folders later on. Eg. if someone added some files to folder. I believe it would a great feature if possible to keep your brain and folders in sncy and in both directions.

  12. PersonalBrain Pro now has calendar and task features making integration with Outlook far less important.

It would be great to let users of PersonalBrain Core connect with Outlook to get some calendar, task and contact functionality out of PB.

This would attract customers like me who want to use PersonalBrain as a PIM instead of merely a file manager which is the current strength of PB Core.

With Outlook integration in PB Core, PB Core becomes a full-fledged PIM.

    Thanks.

  13. I think putting google wave where the notes section is now would be a great leap forward, and it's completely possible because it's all opensource.

If only TheBrain Technologies would make their software opensource, then we'd be able to move all these ideas forward much faster.

  15. The Brain is a great business tool. Windows Mobile phones are highly used in business. Being able to have a PB on my phone would be great. (Syncing OTA would be great too)

Right now, I have Mind Manager, and can edit the same Mind Map on the Mobile Phone or my PC, and changes will be reflected on the other; fully synced. If I could do that with PB...

  16. Instead of clicking the small green "Tick" icon, why not simply save a new thought (I.E. its Title) by typing anything in its Notes field. This constitutes improved work flow and saves time when multiplied across thousands of Brain users generating tens of thousands of new thoughts. (The Tick icon is of course retained for practical purposes...)

  17. Give the user the option to export their Brain as a self contained EXE file which would then be burnt onto a CDR or carried on a USB Stick, true portability of your Brain.

  18. When typed, colored links are not required, I would like to be able to set default colors not just for Normal links but for each of the different types, so PB automatically colors them for me. E.g., (AT = Active Thought) AT-parents, AT-jumps, AT-children, Parents-sibs and Distant thoughts could all be different colors. Distant thoughts and Highlighted link color should remain default. The effect of this would be to make the relationship differences in the plex much more visible. See:

  19. We are soon (v5.1) to be given the ability to vary the default background color of the Notes editor.

It would be nice if the thought type contained a Notes color parameter that could be passed to the Notes editor, so that the user could choose one color for the thought name (of a given type) and a matching color for the corresponding Note. Used judiciously, this would make it more difficult to edit the wrong thought (wrong Note color). Additionally, a note color could be used to express its priority.

I appreciate that trying to pass any parameters from…

  20. I originally suggested this idea here:

    http://thebrain.uservoice.com/pages/general/suggestions/91454-hotkey-to-navigate-to-parent-when-only-one-of-that-type-

However in the confusion about using arrow keys, I think my original suggestion got lost. What I propose is that when the active thought has only one parent, pressing the Up arrow should not only move the green ring up to the parent (showing it has been selected) but ALSO make it the active thought. A In most brains, a high proportion of thoughts have only one parent. This would make upwards traversal of the tree much faster in Normal View.
