1. Adding a set of more meaningful export options (visuals, presentation, interoperabiity)

   I wish all the work I put up and all the great results I can achieve with TheBrain could be exported in some more meaningful (presentational, interoperable) formats.

   I am thinking of things like OPML, multi-thought PDFs including image references to the plex, visuals of the Plex – also local areals, and more linear ones like mind-/concept maps), ways to have slides as output etc.

   I am sure others will have some more ideas.

   But I feel the current set of export options of TheBrain makes it a very "mute" endpoint of knowledge processes in a lot of scenarios.

3. Create an integration with IFTTT/Zapier to allow for automated workflows

   Custom Actions such as to create a throught, maybe in a particular place or with a particular parent throught (by ID if needed) as I'm sure not all throughts would be available in a drop down.

4. Add Context-sensitive Thought Names functionality to the brain 15

   I cannot find the setting to hide the parent thought in context-sensitive child thought names in TheBrain 15. I very much like that economical view and hope it can be added soon if it has not already been added.

5. add print functionality to the mindmap view

   The 'workaround' of taking a screenshot and printing it is NOT suitable. I want to be able to natively print the mind map, several levels deep, on to A3 so it can be added to hardcopy report packs. To get all levels in a screen shot means zooming out, and then taking the screenshot, pasting it into something else and then scale it up to A3. This results in a really poor quality output.

7. New Calendar Function

   I would actually like to plot out when I created thoughts. It would be a different perspective on my thought creations. I don't need it to connect to an actual calendar item like Google Calendar, I just want to see a dot on a timeline that shows me what thoughts I created on a specific date.

   That way, if I know I was working on a project back in April, I can slide the slider to April, then see a set of dots for each thought I created in April. Have it zoom into the day, hour, minute or as granular as you think would be a good use of the code.

8. Add Cloud icon variations to be able to see sync status at a glance

   I would like to be able to tell sync status just by looking at the Cloud icon. I have attached a visual of one possible solution.

   This would be useful in several situations:

   • My Brain is having a sync problem, but I don't realize it until days later. This is because I have to click on the little triangle to see the sync status, but there is nothing to prompt me to do that if I assume sync is automatically happening like it usually does.

   • I'm stepping away from my desk, and want to make sure my latest changes will be available on my phone.

   • I'm on my phone and want to close the mobile app, but I can't tell if my changes were synced yet or not. So, I trigger a manual sync to make sure.

9. Actionable Grid View (as alternative Plex view)

   As an alternate to the Plex (I don't see using both at same time) have a filterable list (think simple spreadsheet or grid) where you can filter and sort columns. Columns would be adjustable but at minimum Thought Name, Type, Tags, Create Date, Update Date, Attachment Exists. You would select on the grid and the note would be visible. The idea is you could mass update Tags and Types, or you could rapidly move through a list of notes.

10. Watched Folder of Markdown Files

    Hi all, really excited about the new release. My request involves having a folder on the filesystem that is watched and any markdown files inside this folder are automatically added as children of the folder thought in TheBrain. Ideally, this would also support a kind of bi-directional sync or live view of the markdown files so no matter which tool they are worked on (e.g. TheBrain, markdown editors, etc) the thoughts in TheBrain contain (or can point to and display) the latest version of the file.

    I know this has been mentioned a few times in forums but doesn't seem to have taken off despite the interest, so I wanted to add another request as it would really eliminate one of the main points of friction for using TheBrain for my use case - which is indexing and adding TheBrain's additional layer of complexity for between-note linking onto my collection of markdown notes.

12. Better mouse hiding (temporary) when using the keyboard.

    I'm a primarily keyboard user. My mouse usage is very sparingly. (Keyboard navigation is much faster)

    One of my biggest complaints when using the option "update displayed content on mouse hover or keyboard highlight", is that the mouse location takes precedence.

    The issue is the thoughts content preview doesn't work as expected when navigating with the keyboard. If the mouse happens to already be in the area where another thought comes into during the reposition process after activating a thought, then that thought content is shown. Because the content preview is not the new positioned center thought, but the thought the mouse is on. i.e., a jump /child thought, I'll end up editing the wrong thought if I don't catch it.

    Suggest making the keyboard or the last input device the primary selector when determining the which target thought to present its content.

13. Display current page # of attached PDF displayed and page count. Perhaps in the vertical slider or next to printer icon.

    Adding footnotes to exported reports/pdf. I understand that MATH functions of laytext work in the notes editor. Could latex functions like \footnote[N]{foot note text} and or \textit{italic text goes here} be added to the report export function. Love the note editor however it does not quite yet replace a word processor. Work around is to write in editors then cut and paste to laytxt.

    When the sync icon moves it means that a sync of another brain is taking place. This will be adjusted to be less distracting in a future release.

15. Make note links color editable based on thought types etc.

    I have thought types for people, organizations, etc. It would be nice if, when I put links to those thoughts into notes, if I were able to adjust their link color based on their thought type.

    For example, if I set up People thoughts to be highlighted as green text color in Plex, I also want links to those thoughts in notes to be shown in green instead of the standard link color set up in the notes theme.

    In Obsidian, this is possible with a plugin called Supercharged Links ( https://github.com/mdelobelle/obsidian_supercharged_links ).

16. Brain Box extension - have two right click options

    I am not comfortable with the work flow of BrainBox. I suggest having two right click options (or left click options), one for Add to Brainbox and one for Select Parent thought. This allows the user to chose AT THE TIME OF ACTION, rather than having had to remember to set the setting on the last usage. I do not want Vulcan to open if possible, I would just want a search box, but understand if that can't happen. When using the Extension, I don't want to "be in The Brain", I want to be moving on to the next thing quickly.

20. Detector for broken links to external files

    This is an old idea/request: Please make it possible to generate a report for thoughts with links to external files that do not exist at that location any more.
    This is a must have for me.
    Also a report for broken URL attachments would be nice.
    I guess, the process of generating this report would be slow, but it would be worth the wait.
