Another level of Team permission... "drafter / commenter"
I'd like to suggest another level of permission for Team Brain, which I'm considering for a client as an organizational learning tool.
I don't want anybody to be able to change everything, either intentionally or accidentally.
But I want everyone to be able to contribute.
Would a drafter / commenter permission be possible? Where a user could add a thought, but not delete other thoughts? Writer / Administers could edit and add the though.

Sort Thoughts by Note word count
Add the ability to sort Thoughts by Note word count (the number of words in a Note associated to a Thought). This way we can immediately tell, among a large number of Thoughts, which have notes with more or less content, thereby determining the importance of the Thought/Note.

allow wandering sub-sections of the brain (sub-branches, specific tags/categories etc)
I really love the "wander"-function. And I think TB was also leading the field here, in terms of identifying the critical role of serendipity and re-surfacing, which all other PKMs normall identify very late in their product-cycles (if at all).
This is why I always wished this function would have some more depth, fingrain, and discriminatory abilities – for a somehow 'steered/guided serendipity'.
What I would hope for:
• wandering only certain sub-branches of the brain
• specify criteria for wandering (tags, categories, (fuzzy) search-strings…Thx for considering!

Figure out why it crashes constantly when uploading thoughts
I Started a new brain of my hard drive data. I create a thought, then drag & drop the contents of a directory from my computer into the thought. TheBrain crashes multiple times an hour as I do this. Seems to be pretty basic functionality, shouldn't be so buggy.

I can print a quick todo list - CTRL (CMD) + P before a meeting?
When I export .PDF or .HTML the little todo square list items - do not show up for print - missing both in .PDF and .HTML-
but I wondered why not CTRL (CMD) + P just the selected text directly from the content - the only work arround seems to screen capture and then print - but my "system 1" wants to save seconds in a busy moment before a meeting

Future vision of TheBrain and AI
I already made a comment on another post but I thought it would maybe be also worth as a own post.
It seems to me that TheBrain project seems to focus on utility and beeing an organize your tasks and thoughts project, because it can not really compete with normal AI as a knowledgebase and it shouldn't. But I think there could be an awesome way for the future to share your thoughts with others:
I was interested in making my own AI and it is quite a hard task if you have some unconventional view on something, but in…

I really enjoy Cerebro
I have been testing out Cerebro on 15.0.86, and I do believe it is truly a game-changer. The regular brain AI is much less sophisticated and I have found it of limited use. Cerebro, on the other hand, will become a core part of my organizational routine especially as it gets better at searching (finding all relevant thoughts rather than a limited number, etc.).

Restore plex and notes zoom.
On 15.0.95.0 running on macOS Sierra desktop plex and notes zoom are missing. No pinch/expand; no Command + "+/-", no dropdown menu picks. If there is a way to control the size of text (other than overriding the screen resolution, which is generally unacceptable), please make it obvious.
Thanks.

Does expand and collapse generations need to be re-activated?
I cannot figure out how to expand and collapse generations in 15.0.95. Has this functionality not migrated to later versions of TheBrain 15? This is a major gap if so.

When hovering over search results show related notes with search term(s) highlighted.
In v.14 this is standard performance so I can see if the related note is what I am looking for.
In v.15 you have to either open one result at the time to see the note content, or add all results to selection and then open them one by one.3 votes -
Better PDF handling
When I insert a link that points to a PDF, I'd like to direclty download into Brain/Thought pdf files instead of or in addition to link.
Actually it's possible download it to disk, as it happens in browser, and then attach to the thoughts. And if I open a PDF from a thought and for example make some highlights or add some comments directly from TheBrain, when saving it has to direclty update in the thoughts, not to an external folder.

api endpoint for todo retrieval and update
TheBrain isn't my primary todo location but I find it extremely useful, and lets face it, easy, to add them directly into the thoughts they apply to. But then they are a bit lost for me when managing my day. I want to be able to access them via MCP or API's directly so I can have them as part of my overall task management system. That way Cerebro could also work with them as right now it can't help me even from inside the brain!

Open Attachments with "Open with..."
I would like to have the possibility to open attachments with a choice of program, not just the standard program. For example, I want to be able to open pdf-files with Foxit Reader for standard viewing, with pdf24 for editing, with pdf-Arranger, with Drawboard to make annotations.
At the moment, one hast to open the folder containing the attachment and open the attachment with "Open with..." from there.

A tighter integration with Microsoft OneNote
THE OPPORTUNITY
TheBrain excels at what no other tool does: non-linear, associative thinking. The ability to model complex knowledge relationships — thoughts, links, webs of context — is genuinely irreplaceable. But when it comes to rich, freeform note-taking, especially on iPad, OneNote fills a gap TheBrain's current notes panel simply can't match. Handwritten annotation, stylus input, highlighting, visual page layouts — these make OneNote an irreplaceable capture tool for many of us.
The ask isn't for TheBrain to rebuild those capabilities from scratch. It's for a tighter coupling — so users can bring the best of both worlds into one…3 votes -
Selected thoughts include Tags and Type to "copy text Outline with notes"
It would be great if Selected thoughts will include Tags and Type to the "copy text Outline with notes" command.
This will helps me e.g. to get a quick excel sheet via Claude Code, with all selected Thoughts in a nice overview, wich I can use for a meeting as an overview.

Hover Over Label Larger Text as in v.14
I use labels quite a bit for quick level 2 information about a thought without actually opening the thought. In version 14 I could hover over a thought and the font size was large enough to get what I needed and move on. In version 15 the font size is much reduced. I would like to being the font size of hovering over a label back to version 14 size.

Make it possible to switch the endpoints of links without losing the link properties
Hi,
A thought about links that occurred to me:
Wouldn't it be good if we would have the possibility to alter/change the start- and end-thought of a certain link?Imagine, after having set the colour and the thickness and the type of a link between two thoughts and maybe even added a note content and you realize that one of the end thoughts should be different... the only solution is to unlink and start all over again losing all property and note information of the existing link in the process.
If the properties-window of the link had a reference to…

Implement the possibility for choosing how report results are sorted
At the moment it is not clear to me how the thoughts in the result for reports are ordered.
I would like to be able to sort them alphabetically, or according to date created/modified/accessed.3 votes -
Option to sort the search results according to date accessed etc.
At the moment I am not sure how the search results that the search/create field returns are sorted. To me the search order does not make much sense and the thought that I search is somewhere in the middle hidden between thoughts that are not relevant.
It would be nice to be able to choose the sort order according to date accessed or alphabetically. Additional options could be relevant for other users.3 votes -
