Use Cerebro to add events or reminders related to a thought
Use Cerebro to add events or reminders related to a thought. As of .509 we have to manually create a reminder or event related to the selected thought. For example, a reminder to do something related to the note in *** days. This would be much easier if we could say to Cerebro "Set a reminder on the timeline to check on the status of the selected thought".

Fix LaTex.
Fix LaTex. It does not work and you know it does not work. It has been a Forum topic for years. And, it cannot be that hard to fix. This has been a problem since I first used theBrain many, many years ago. I am still a theBrain customer. I love everything about theBrain except, because of LaTex, I am continually going to something else (Obsidian is becoming my go to Note manager). I love theBrain and keep my subscription hoping that someday I will be able to use theBrain to manage my math notes.

AI Prompt Templates
Currently we have the ability to enter a custom prompt, but it's a manual process each time. It would be great to be able save my custom prompts as a template so they can be easily re-used.

Retain status of heading folding state in notes
Currently when you fold a heading the information under it is hidden (standard behavior).
However, when you navigate away from the thought and then activate it again, all headings are expanded. It would be nice if the fold status of headings is saved with the note it retains fold status after navigating away.

Open Attachments with "Open with..."
I would like to have the possibility to open attachments with a choice of program, not just the standard program. For example, I want to be able to open pdf-files with Foxit Reader for standard viewing, with pdf24 for editing, with pdf-Arranger, with Drawboard to make annotations.
At the moment, one hast to open the folder containing the attachment and open the attachment with "Open with..." from there.

add print functionality to the mindmap view
The 'workaround' of taking a screenshot and printing it is NOT suitable. I want to be able to natively print the mind map, several levels deep, on to A3 so it can be added to hardcopy report packs. To get all levels in a screen shot means zooming out, and then taking the screenshot, pasting it into something else and then scale it up to A3. This results in a really poor quality output.

Better PDF handling
When I insert a link that points to a PDF, I'd like to direclty download into Brain/Thought pdf files instead of or in addition to link.
Actually it's possible download it to disk, as it happens in browser, and then attach to the thoughts. And if I open a PDF from a thought and for example make some highlights or add some comments directly from TheBrain, when saving it has to direclty update in the thoughts, not to an external folder.

Watched Folder of Markdown Files
Hi all, really excited about the new release. My request involves having a folder on the filesystem that is watched and any markdown files inside this folder are automatically added as children of the folder thought in TheBrain. Ideally, this would also support a kind of bi-directional sync or live view of the markdown files so no matter which tool they are worked on (e.g. TheBrain, markdown editors, etc) the thoughts in TheBrain contain (or can point to and display) the latest version of the file.
I know this has been mentioned a few times in forums but doesn't seem…

Does expand and collapse generations need to be re-activated?
I cannot figure out how to expand and collapse generations in 15.0.95. Has this functionality not migrated to later versions of TheBrain 15? This is a major gap if so.

be able to link to any thought within a brain just as if it's a url.
We need to be able to link to a thought from programs outside. I want to associate brain map thoughts within an ARCGIS storyboard.

Viewing Images in notes independenly
I like to collect screenshots in my notes. Which is useful because it allows me to comment individual shots in one note. All is well and works fine - but I sometimes run into readability problems when TB isn't fullscreen or my notes panes it too small. It would be great if the context menu for images had an option to quickly zoom them out, show them in original size.

Manually set thought creation date
When creating a new thought, or pasting an older thought after copying, it would be massively liberating for workflow to be able to set a toggle to manually define thought date.

Global Zoom Word Cloud Graph - like in Zettelkasten
Please make it possible to zoom out the Plex, so all Thoughts are visible like "dots" and when I hover over a dot, the thought zooms bigger including the connected Thoughts.
Ideally with the Type and Tags -> like a simple "mouse over effect" that would be great.
Maybe this doesn’t add that much to the use of The Brain, but it would have a visual impact on users of The Brain.
At the moment I solve this with copying the selected thoughts als outline and let Claude Code build a Zoom Cloud Graph.
See the image as an example…4 votes -
The brain as a reading tool - able to directly support note-taking process.
--> (1) First of all - visualisation of e-books.
Currently, only PDF files are being visualised in the notes section. All other files are represented by a file name and an icon. In order to become a research and reading platform, more file types must be visualized.
And this is not difficult, as the visualisation code is available in open-source communities for free.
The following document types should be readable within Thebrain application:
type status Importance
PDF is visible, High supports reading
EPUB To add High supports reading🛠 How Hard Would It Be for TheBrain to Add Support? (Chatgpt-answer)

Figure out why it crashes constantly when uploading thoughts
I Started a new brain of my hard drive data. I create a thought, then drag & drop the contents of a directory from my computer into the thought. TheBrain crashes multiple times an hour as I do this. Seems to be pretty basic functionality, shouldn't be so buggy.

... (re-)introduce an enhanced version of the "living table of contents" from version 14.
In version 14, we had the ability to create a living table of contents, allowing us to quickly jump back and forth between different headings. Unfortunately, this feature was not carried over to V15.
As a result, I now read structured documents almost exclusively in Obsidian, where an outline is generated automatically—and, conveniently, displayed in a sidebar. It doesn’t get any more convenient than that.
(LibreOffice Writer and Typora can do this in Markdown, too.)BTW: This is also the reason why lengthy legal documents always need to be bookmarked.
