  2. Watched Folder of Markdown Files

    Hi all, really excited about the new release. My request involves having a folder on the filesystem that is watched and any markdown files inside this folder are automatically added as children of the folder thought in TheBrain. Ideally, this would also support a kind of bi-directional sync or live view of the markdown files so no matter which tool they are worked on (e.g. TheBrain, markdown editors, etc) the thoughts in TheBrain contain (or can point to and display) the latest version of the file.

  3. add print functionality to the mindmap view

    The 'workaround' of taking a screenshot and printing it is NOT suitable. I want to be able to natively print the mind map, several levels deep, on to A3 so it can be added to hardcopy report packs. To get all levels in a screen shot means zooming out, and then taking the screenshot, pasting it into something else and then scale it up to A3. This results in a really poor quality output.

  4. A Linux version of TheBrain for Linux Users

    I'm a Linux Fedora Plasma user - a Linux version of TheBrain would be highly useful & more practical to me and potentially several, many others.

  6. Work on the IPAD APP!

    It is not consistent at all. I cannot type into child thoughts, sometimes when I launch the app the brain does not show up, it’s just a white screen. Why is that? TheBrain basically does not work on IOS. Brains are viewable on IOS but it’s very difficult to “work” on IOS. Would love for you to get back to me with these issues.

  7. adding BrainBox to the right click Context menu on web browsers

    I think adding BrainBox to the right click Context menu on web browsers would be a great and much needed improvement.

    Often times I search and find a link I want to add to Brainbox, but don't want to open the URL. I'm well aware of drag and drop, but that does no good when you use apps in full screen, I'm also aware you can Alt+Tab to TheBrain while in full screen while dragging the link, but if you have a lot of apps open, this is not feasible.

  8. Enable opening thought links on iOS via other apps

    Please enable opening thought links in TheBrain app on iOS (and Android).

    I use e.g. OmniFocus and DevonThink next to TheBrain. On MacOS I can post links to relevant thoughts into those tools and easily access the thoughts as needed.

    However, instead of opening in TheBrain, on iOS these links do nothing. This limits cross-app workflows significantly on mobile

  9. Keep outlined notes contracted as in Logseq

    Note editor should be improved. I’m using Logseq as an outliner instead of the Brain because in TB you can’t contract and expanded outlined Note. The contracted outline will be expanded by default when you open the note again.

  10. Is it possible to create a knowledge graph of an entire brain?

    I have a lot of internal documents, many nodes and links. I would like to use some knowledge graph tools to sort and cluster things in ways that can be done with knowledge graphs.

  11. Detector for broken links to external files

    This is an old idea/request: Please make it possible to generate a report for thoughts with links to external files that do not exist at that location any more.
    This is a must have for me.
    Also a report for broken URL attachments would be nice.
    I guess, the process of generating this report would be slow, but it would be worth the wait.

  12. Brain Box extension - have two right click options

    I am not comfortable with the work flow of BrainBox. I suggest having two right click options (or left click options), one for Add to Brainbox and one for Select Parent thought. This allows the user to chose AT THE TIME OF ACTION, rather than having had to remember to set the setting on the last usage. I do not want Vulcan to open if possible, I would just want a search box, but understand if that can't happen. When using the Extension, I don't want to "be in The Brain", I want to be moving on to the next…

  13. New Feature

    Provide support for X Cards. https://developer.x.com/en/docs/x-for-websites/cards/overview/player-card

    This would allow users to embed Brains or elements of brains perhaps, into posts on X.

    With X Communities beginning to take off, this would make use of TheBrain as a value add to communities.

    This would help on other communities too, like Skool.

  14. Display current page # of attached PDF displayed and page count. Perhaps in the vertical slider or next to printer icon.

    Adding footnotes to exported reports/pdf. I understand that MATH functions of laytext work in the notes editor. Could latex functions like \footnote[N]{foot note text} and or \textit{italic text goes here} be added to the report export function. Love the note editor however it does not quite yet replace a word processor. Work around is to write in editors then cut and paste to laytxt.

  16. Better mouse hiding (temporary) when using the keyboard.

    I'm a primarily keyboard user. My mouse usage is very sparingly. (Keyboard navigation is much faster)

    One of my biggest complaints when using the option "update displayed content on mouse hover or keyboard highlight", is that the mouse location takes precedence.

    The issue is the thoughts content preview doesn't work as expected when navigating with the keyboard. If the mouse happens to already be in the area where another thought comes into during the reposition process after activating a thought, then that thought content is shown.     I would love to be able to search my TheBrain thoughts with the MacOS spotlight search and when clicking on a result to open it up in TheBrain. This would help my workflows tremendously. Please upvote.

  19. Backlink support in Android and iOS apps

    Need support for viewing and adding backlinks within the Android app. Such a feature is important within The Brain, so lack of Android support is puzzling.

  20. Make note links color editable based on thought types etc.

    I have thought types for people, organizations, etc. It would be nice if, when I put links to those thoughts into notes, if I were able to adjust their link color based on their thought type.

    For example, if I set up People thoughts to be highlighted as green text color in Plex, I also want links to those thoughts in notes to be shown in green instead of the standard link color set up in the notes theme.

    In Obsidian, this is possible with a plugin called Supercharged Links ( https://github.com/mdelobelle/obsidian_supercharged_links ).
