Being back the "Create Event-reminder" function that was in version 14, that you have the option of hours, days or weeks.
In version 14, "Create Event" in the "reminder" section, you had a choice of hours, days, or weeks. In version 15, you can only do hours (24). The problem is that for projects, reminders are usually more than hours.

Use another port than 8000 for Thebrain
Use another port than 8000 for Thebrain, as this port is already widely used by PHP, Python, Django for localhost servers.

A built‑in date (or datetime) field on each thought
1.
Optional “Thought Date” field
- Set via a date/time picker on the thought.
- Supports just a date or full datetime.
2.
Sorting children by Thought Date
- Parent thoughts can choose to sort children by:
** Thought Date (ascending/descending)
** Or by name (current behavior).- This would let me maintain a clean chronological hierarchy without having to put the date at the start of the thought name.
3.
Display options
- Choose whether to:
** Show the date in the name (prefix/suffix/hidden), or
** Show it as a separate metadata field in the UI.3 votes -
We need a global view, something like the relationship charts provided by Obsidian. This would allow us to easily understand how many Thoughts exist in TheBrain, giving us a clear and intuitive sense of the overall situation. Of course, I believe that the most important function of the charts in Obsidian is to help us keep track of the number of notes involved. In TheBrain, the current view is indeed useful, but it still only shows a limited representation of relationships between individual items.3 votes -
create timeline event from date text selection
In the content panel selecting an obvious date like "Jul 24, 2024" or "7/24/2024", that either through the context menu or hotkey, it opens up the Timeline Event creation dialog entry on THAT date.
I have content with many, many dates and it would be wonderful to optimize this adding process.
There is SO much you could do with the Timeline feature, but I will keep my request manageable :)
I understand the complexities of detecting dates from a String, so even if there are strict rules about when it would detect or the string pattern format required for detection…

Thought Type and Keyword Filter
It should definitely be possible to filter and display thought types and keywords. So far, you always see all of them from the entire Brain. That's very impractical.
I only want to see the thought types or keywords associated with a specific thought or area.

Add the ability to link to a brain using a custom domain.
I am not sure how feasible this is, but it would be great to be able to use a custom domain directing to a specific brain. The current address to a thought in any brain is meaningless to the casual user. It would be an advantage if a custom domain could link to say the thought name. Not sure if this is possible, but it would be extremely useful.

Have thoughts with Type show up higher in search results
I have typed thoughts that are Categories or Focus areas that I search for often and would like thoughts with Types set to get stronger weighting in the search algorithm.

Better Redo Function in the AI of the Notes Editor
When using the Redo function in the AI assitant of the notes editor it would be helpful to have access to the last prompt entered. Often a Redo implies a change or refinement of the last prompt. Currently one has to reenter the complete previous prompt (and to remember the exact previous wording).

create orphan thought from brainbox
I'd like to be able to create a new orphan thought from an entry in brain box rather than adding it as a child to something else and then having to unlink it.

Gamification Skill Tree View
To keep up with something that is out there, and where The Brain could leap forward into a new paradigm.
Create a "Skill Tree" view, which resembles skill trees that can be built in video games.
Add some graphics options such as thought shapes and zero text options.
We already have the option to modify the plex to have interesting backgrounds, so that isn't needed.
Being able to toggle text on and off, replacing it with an image. If you had the ability to use .png files for the images, then you could actually end up with very dynamic looking…

iOS To Do List Sorting/Filtering
The iOS To Do List doesn't presently allow sorting by Name or Date Modified like the Mac/Windows version of the To Do List does. It's not even clear what sorting logic the iOS list is currently using ... it seems to put modified thoughts at the bottom, but there are confusing inconsistencies. At the very least, it seems like the iOS To Do List should be sorted by Date Modified by default (with To Dos from the last modified notes at the top).
Better still would be to allow for a user-controlled sorting choice, either by Name or Date Modified.

For the Desktop app, include Tag and Type for the thought in the Notes
I have several thoughts with several tags and the desktop plex becomes crowded. I would like the option to display the tags and type of a though in the notes and not show on the plex below the thought. I know this works in the web and app version, but I would like it in the desktop version also.

Add indents, lines, or bullets between items in a Table of Contents
When items in a Table of Contents wrap to two or more lines, it can be difficult to distinguish between the different items in the list.
I suggest adding formatting that makes it easier to see where each new item begins. I've attached a few possibilities.

Add Cloud icon variations to be able to see sync status at a glance
I would like to be able to tell sync status just by looking at the Cloud icon. I have attached a visual of one possible solution.
This would be useful in several situations:
• My Brain is having a sync problem, but I don't realize it until days later. This is because I have to click on the little triangle to see the sync status, but there is nothing to prompt me to do that if I assume sync is automatically happening like it usually does.
• I'm stepping away from my desk, and want to make sure my latest…

Make the lines of a YouTube video's table of contents “clickable/usable”
Make the lines of a YouTube video's table of contents “clickable/usable”
Just as an example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nTSRx78Aac8
When you click on this link, you will see a YouTube video – like millions of others. Then click on “More” and you will (hopefully) see a few lines that represent the content of the video (like a table of contents) and the corresponding time code at the beginning of each line.
This makes it easy to jump to a specific point in a longer video.
I would be delighted if theBrain would one day retain these links when I insert text like this…2 votes -
The notes and attachments sections open in separate windows.
I would like to have the option to split the notes and attachments sections into two separate windows. Often, when taking notes, you have to juggle between the web browser (to open attachments externally) and the Brain. With this setup, you could stay entirely within Brain and continue taking notes without switching context.
I could even imagine having the attachments section overlay or replace the Plex side panel, allowing full-length display of the attachment while taking notes—all within the same application.I believe this would improve the workflow.

URL to reference files attached within Notes
While having the URL of a Thought is fantastic and works well, I would like to see an option to create a URL pointing to data (or a file) in other places, such as Notes. My use case is as follows: I have a QRCode label on my circuit breakers that points to a Thought. I scan the label on my phone, which takes me to that Thought. From there, I navigate to the Notes section and am able to pull up my spreadsheet with circuit information for that panel. Not a HUGE issue, but it would provide ease of…

Keyboard short cut for open context menu of a thought
There are many helpful short cuts to handle TB from keyboard. However one essentual short cut is missing: open context menu of a selected thought corresponding to the right click by mouse. This would reduce grapping the mouse alot.

Rename Notes.md files to match the thought's name
I often use tools other than TheBrain to search the notes in my Brain. The problem is that if I'm searching in, say the Mac's Finder, the search result is nothing but a list of Notes.md files. (see attached)
I would love it if those files could be named in some way that they could be more easily identifed.
