Make the lines of a YouTube video's table of contents “clickable/usable”
Just as an example:

When you click on this link, you will see a YouTube video – like millions of others. Then click on “More” and you will (hopefully) see a few lines that represent the content of the video (like a table of contents) and the corresponding time code at the beginning of each line.
This makes it easy to jump to a specific point in a longer video.
I would be delighted if theBrain would one day retain these links when I insert text like this…2 votes -
URL to reference files attached within Notes
While having the URL of a Thought is fantastic and works well, I would like to see an option to create a URL pointing to data (or a file) in other places, such as Notes. My use case is as follows: I have a QRCode label on my circuit breakers that points to a Thought. I scan the label on my phone, which takes me to that Thought. From there, I navigate to the Notes section and am able to pull up my spreadsheet with circuit information for that panel. Not a HUGE issue, but it would provide ease of…

Keyboard short cut for open context menu of a thought
There are many helpful short cuts to handle TB from keyboard. However one essentual short cut is missing: open context menu of a selected thought corresponding to the right click by mouse. This would reduce grapping the mouse alot.

Rename Notes.md files to match the thought's name
I often use tools other than TheBrain to search the notes in my Brain. The problem is that if I'm searching in, say the Mac's Finder, the search result is nothing but a list of Notes.md files. (see attached)
I would love it if those files could be named in some way that they could be more easily identifed.

timeline feature: start using or viewing, choose from time intervals of 1,000 years, 100 years, 50 years, 25 years, and 10 years
To use the timeline feature for historical purposes (or, for example, to display family trees, etc.), users should be able to choose from time intervals of 1,000 years, 100 years, 50 years, 25 years, and 10 years.
Right now, it takes quite a bit of effort to use "thoughts," "types," and "tags" to achieve a good presentation and linking of such data sets.

Allow Reordering Note Text Actions Above Keyboard on Mobile
Please allow the ability to customize the order of the Note text actions on mobile.
I use Indent and Outdent more than any others, and it's frustrating to open the dialog repeatedly when cleaning up notes on mobile.

Use macOS Share Sheet to Send Content to Quick Thought
Since the Quick Thought widget is gradually replacing (or maybe merging with) Brain Box, it would be a very useful feature to be able to send content to the Quick Thought client via the macOS share sheet. Examples:
- select text on a web page, or in a document, or in any app that supports the share sheet, and send that thing to Quick Thought for later editing or/and addition to a Brain
- same, except share a file from Finder via Quick Thought for later attachment to a thought in a Brain

UI101: Closing Pop-up Windows
It would be helpful to add the usual "X" button for "Close Window" to the pop-up windows of the commands "Add Attachment/Add from Brainbox..." and "Add Attachmen/Add File from Template...". I know, one can use ESC, but having a "X" button for closing a window is an almost universal standard that everybody knows.

Themes as a thought property, including background
We can assign backgrounds to thoughts using the Typing system (meh), but you have to be careful that all backgrounds work with within the applied theme (or else your text might become ineligible). That's because the theme is applied globally, while backgrounds are not.
The solution is to allow themes on a finer grained scale, like at the typing system level (to match backgrounds as it work now) or on selected thoughts basis.

MD Types for Thought types
For a thought type - e.g. Citation I would like to have a citation MD which will be preperated like a formula

Pages
etc.This should be the default MD for the specific type.
Or a possibility to create Default MDs for special thoughts, which could be added via Add Attachment/Add Special MD File. The default blank MD File should be replaced with this special md file
The default MD file should be replaced, with the MD type file, because I would like to see it clicking on the thought without the necessity of a further selection.

Get TheBrain to work with Vivaldi
Get TheBrain to work with Vivaldi browser. Cannot drag urls or get the Brainbox to work. Have to switch to Firefox every time.

UI enhancements to the AI note generation
Have a text box to add some text at the bottom of AI generated content. For me it would be "Generated by $model on $date". Ideally those would fill in
For Length of AI, a slider is not a good interface. Replace with Radio buttons giving easy access to different lengths. See screen shot

Attribute Inheritance with Tags
If not explicitly overridden subtypes inherit the attributes (i.e. color, icon) of their super type.

Repeat Screen Shot to Note at same size
When watching presentations in meetings or webinars, I often want to repeatedly screen capture into notes. Sometimes slides are moving fast and I don't have time to drag the screen shot window evertime.
As a user, I would like to have a command that Repeats Previous Screenshot and adds to current note.This is discussed here

Make it possible to insert an image as a thought icon, from a heic file
I see .jpg and .png and .gif formats are supported (User Guide TheBrain 14 p115) Since the heic format seems to be standard in the Apple system, it would be useful to be able to copy them to icons.

Make it possible to deselect Notes content under Create Document.
For purposes of feeding content to an AI, I'd like to be able to Create a Document that only includes the Thought Title and Label Content. Right now there is now way to exclude the full Notes content.

Allow the manual customization of Notes HTML, so I can use Tabulator to create custom tables
I would like to be able to manually edit the html of notes from inside thebrain (and have it rendered in notes), to include styling and external scripts like Tabulator, which is a javascript library that is used to create dynamic interactive tables. I think adding a raw code html feature to notes would be awesome and allow us to customize our notes further!
