  1. I am not sure how feasible this is, but it would be great to be able to use a custom domain directing to a specific brain. The current address to a thought in any brain is meaningless to the casual user. It would be an advantage if a custom domain could link to say the thought name. Not sure if this is possible, but it would be extremely useful.

  2. It should definitely be possible to filter and display thought types and keywords. So far, you always see all of them from the entire Brain. That's very impractical.

I only want to see the thought types or keywords associated with a specific thought or area.

  3. Please allow the ability to customize the order of the Note text actions on mobile.

I use Indent and Outdent more than any others, and it's frustrating to open the dialog repeatedly when cleaning up notes on mobile.

  4. In the content panel selecting an obvious date like "Jul 24, 2024" or "7/24/2024", that either through the context menu or hotkey, it opens up the Timeline Event creation dialog entry on THAT date.

I have content with many, many dates and it would be wonderful to optimize this adding process.

There is SO much you could do with the Timeline feature, but I will keep my request manageable :)

I understand the complexities of detecting dates from a String, so even if there are strict rules about when it would detect or the string pattern format required for detection…

  5. PDF view Preference setting zoom default to settable value other than 100% perhaps 125%, also center visible text in view window. Save multiple zoom and center clicks, makes better use of screen and reduce eye strain.

  6. I would love to have the ability to temporarily position Thoughts freely within the Outline view, almost like sticky notes on a canvas.

The relationships between the Thoughts would remain unchanged—a Thought would still be a child, parent, sibling, or jump Thought—but its visual position could be changed independently. For example, I could place a central Thought in the middle and arrange related Thoughts around it in a circle, creating something like a constellation or solar system of Thoughts.

This would add a spatial layer to thinking. Thoughts placed close together could represent a strong connection or relevance, while Thoughts…

We need a global view, something like the relationship charts provided by Obsidian. This would allow us to easily understand how many Thoughts exist in TheBrain, giving us a clear and intuitive sense of the overall situation. Of course, I believe that the most important function of the charts in Obsidian is to help us keep track of the number of notes involved. In TheBrain, the current view is indeed useful, but it still only shows a limited representation of relationships between individual items.

  8. Add a whiteboard diagram type. This would be especially useful on iOS / iPadOS so that we could use the Pencil (or alternative on Android, etc.) to sketch out ideas. At this time, we can do that in a separate app and copy an image to paste into the thought. But, I would be more useful to create and edit the whiteboard from TheBrain itself.

  9. 1.

    Optional “Thought Date” field

    • Set via a date/time picker on the thought.
    • Supports just a date or full datetime.

    2.

    Sorting children by Thought Date

    • Parent thoughts can choose to sort children by:

    ** Thought Date (ascending/descending)
** Or by name (current behavior).

    • This would let me maintain a clean chronological hierarchy without having to put the date at the start of the thought name.

    3.

    Display options

    • Choose whether to:

** Show the date in the name (prefix/suffix/hidden), or
** Show it as a separate metadata field in the UI.

  10. Since the launch of TheBrain 15, I’ve started using TheBrain differently, and I absolutely love the change.

Historically, I maintained one large Brain rather than creating separate Brains for individual clients. The single-Brain approach was valuable for searching across everything, but its size sometimes made information difficult to find and navigate.

With TheBrain 15, I now maintain a separate Brain for each client. When I’m working with a client, I can open that Brain and immediately have all the relevant information in front of me. It is a much cleaner and more effective way to work.

    My one significant challenge…

  12. Please add an option to open the full Callout menu via a keyboard shortcut, with support for keyboard navigation of the menu and selection of a type, finally adding the type where the cursor was in the note.

  14. With v15, when I open settings from within a brain, it only remembers the "layout spacing" for that brain on the device on which it's loaded. This means I need to open every brain on every device and adjust the layout spacing which is tedious.

An option to push layout spacing to all devices across all brains would be ideal.

  15. I have several icons that are a PNG image with a transparent background. When I select the thought with the icon and copy it and paste this icon into another thought, the transparency is lost.

  17. To use the timeline feature for historical purposes (or, for example, to display family trees, etc.), users should be able to choose from time intervals of 1,000 years, 100 years, 50 years, 25 years, and 10 years.
Right now, it takes quite a bit of effort to use "thoughts," "types," and "tags" to achieve a good presentation and linking of such data sets.
Maybe all historians and genealogists could find happiness!

  18. In version 14, "Create Event" in the "reminder" section, you had a choice of hours, days, or weeks. In version 15, you can only do hours (24). The problem is that for projects, reminders are usually more than hours.

  19. We use Microsoft's SharePoint for our business file platform. Very frequently, I'd like to drag a file - or hyperlink - directly into a Thought Note (or as a related Thought).

See attached video...despite looking hopeful (TB 15.0.586 and previous versions) by recognizing a drag/drop is in progress, nothing gets processed in TB.

Currently, I either copy the hyperlink and manually paste the hyperlink or download the file to C: and then move it into TB (I usually want the file not the hyperlink, but sometimes I compromise with the hyperlink because it's faster). My expectation is either the file…
