  2. I've been using TB for 20 years; yup I'm an original.

As may seem logical, as much as TB is my virtual office space; I use other products and they inspire me to view their functions and capabilities that would fit nicely into TB without it seeming to be some kind of copy of competing products.

I trialled Tana app recently, and as much as it's to me just another complex PKM product that simply cannot rival TB, it has a rather awesome mobile device app called Tana Capture and I am super convinced we Brain users would benefit immensely…

  3. I see .jpg and .png and .gif formats are supported (User Guide TheBrain 14 p115) Since the heic format seems to be standard in the Apple system, it would be useful to be able to copy them to icons.

  6. Bring back partial search requests. Or use a single-digit wildcard to fill in missing info.

I used to be able to search for the last few characters of a string but that option has been removed in one of the updates.

Searching is now harder to use and find things.

    For example:

"What is that 4444 number I saved? I forget. It's like 855, or 866-555-4444. Or is it 800?"

Search for 4444... nothing shows up.
Search for 8665554444... nothing shows up (because I forgot to add dashes)

In the older versions, I could find something like that easily.

  9. It would be very valuable to have a dynamic link capability between Thoughts and elements in MSOffice, especially Outlook. I am not talking about file links, but more like a direct interface so that a person in a Thought can be dynamically linked to their Contact in Office.

  10. Currently AI in the brain can be used to generate thoughts and content within thoughts.

I believe that the next logical step is to get some AI analysis of content and thoughts into The Brain.

I would love to have the ability to click a thought point, and drag as though I were creating or linking a thought. Then when I let go, normally it gives you a "create thought" bubble which lets you either search or name that thought. This could be above, left, or below.

But instead of requiring you to start searching, make the AI do the…

  11. Right now the Brain ai tools go to the web to get their results. I would like to use all the information I have in my brains as the data source instead or in conjunction with the WWW. So this search could be from within the brain or via an external ai tool like perplexity

  12. When changing a thought to a type or tag you have to do it individually. It would be good to grab a group of thoughts and allow the ability to change the group to a type or tag.

  13. I have thought types for people, organizations, etc. It would be nice if, when I put links to those thoughts into notes, if I were able to adjust their link color based on their thought type.

For example, if I set up People thoughts to be highlighted as green text color in Plex, I also want links to those thoughts in notes to be shown in green instead of the standard link color set up in the notes theme.

In Obsidian, this is possible with a plugin called Supercharged Links ( https://github.com/mdelobelle/obsidian_supercharged_links ).

  15. Callouts helps us include additional content without breaking the flow of our notes.

Add a few types to display with distinctive colors and icons to indicate the importance of the content, such as :

    • Note - Highlights information that users should take into account, even when skimming.
    • Tip - Optional information to help a user be more successful.
    • Important - Crucial information necessary for users to succeed.
    • Warning - Critical content demanding immediate user attention due to potential risks.
    • Caution - Negative potential consequences of an action.

    Supported types for Github:

    Supported types for Obsidian:

  18. After searching a note or PDF and matching some items, when clicking the next or previous match arrows, display the current match number next to the total matches count so that you can see where you are in the list of matches.

Display the matching item positions in the file as highlight lines on the scroll bar (and ideally allow clicking on a highlight line in the scrollbar to go to that match)

  19. Our previous web client faithfully replicated ALL of the note styling and formatting from the desktop.

This duplication was lost with the launch of Vulcan, and I would very much like to see it restored.

    This duplication would include:
    * All note background colors (including replacing the default grey background)
    * All note fonts
    * Much, MUCH lighter weight horizontal rules that do not dominate the page

  20. Adding footnotes to exported reports/pdf. I understand that MATH functions of laytext work in the notes editor. Could latex functions like \footnote[N]{foot note text} and or \textit{italic text goes here} be added to the report export function. Love the note editor however it does not quite yet replace a word processor. Work around is to write in editors then cut and paste to laytxt.
