  1. I corporate environments there are many other calendar server systems we are forced to use, and CalDav is well supported standard for talking between clients and servers. Being able to use TheBrain calendar as the interface for managing those calendars would be a big plus.

  2. There are a number of older forum entries and more recent feature suggestions regarding thought and link visualization/visibility as a function of priority/importance/relevance/value. Some have suggested improved visualization (bigger size, bolder color thoughts) by use, by connectivity, or by customized scales. TheBrain should implement all of these, especially customized scales, allowing the user to determine various levels of priority for various goals (e.g. a 1-7 scale of “priority for daily health” or “priority for ________ research project,” or whatever priority scale you want). With scales, visualization could be more subtle than filter on/off (show/hide). Users could decide in each moment…

  5. I love the cross mapping functionality of theBrain. However, I find myself using Evernote more and more since it is so easy to clip interesting articles using a bookmarklet. I recommend theBrain to develop a chrome/firefox add-in that will allow users to clip articles/url and "thought tag" them.

  6. On the mac, you can colour code files inside Finder.

E.g if you're watching a TV show, you can colour the episodes that you've wathched in green.

This is very useful for proccessing files in a folder.

It would be great to have equal/better functionality in the brain thought folder.

  8. When a tag is selected as the active thought, the child thoughts of that tag should not display its tag hint, as this is redundant and creates unnecessary UI clutter.

For example, you have a tag called "Client". Normally, when you view a thought tagged as Client, you want to see the tag hint. However, if the Client tag is the active thought in the plex, by definition, any child thoughts of this tag must be tagged as "Client", so it's ridiculous and messy to display dozens of thoughts all showing the Client tag hint. However, if any of the…

  9. Offer the user to define existing link types as 'relationship / theme' links. This makes it possible to discover / visualise different relation structures that can exist all in the same brain. (all un visible or fixed now one and the same brain). The result is that from only one brain, the creator can now select and highlight relationships hidden in a complex brain. So 1 single brain can visualise more stories just by selecting and visualising the specific relationship, and all non-relevant thoughts for that specific relation dissapear to the background.

Context / relationship or Theme switching so to…

  10. I often write up coloured documentation and paste it as HTML into my Brain.

I'd like to be able to use a hotkey to switch between design and HTML views, to speed up the proccess.

  13. Enable WebBrains to be able to show the contents of the Notes Window for a thought that the mouse cursor is hovering over just like in the desktop versions.

One of my new applications for TheBrain Pro 7 is as a teaching support tool I project it onto a large screen, increase the font size (Plex and Notes Window), and use it as I teach. In addition, I later synchronize it to your Cloud Services and make it available to my students for review, reference, further exploration, linking to other websites, and downloading of PDF documents.

    I make heavy use…

  14. Allow us to send a simple link (can be password protected or not) to friends and colleagues so that they can add to and edit TheBrain (without the TeamBrain setup process).
You can charge for this added feature, but this would allow quick and efficient collaboration and gives control of sharing to the user.

  15. I have a series of tags for "year last updated", which I manually create each year.

I'm sure other users could identify other through characteristics that could be exposed dynamically as tags.

Color should be user-selectable as with regular tags, and should be selectable by thought as with regular tags.

In addition, I can imagine giving users the option of selecting some tags globally (to display on all thoughts)

  16. I often archive or move very deep hierarchy thoughts between different brains, and the current copying mechanism is very time consuming since I have to select all children thoughts one hierarchy level at a time. It would be more efficient to be able to copy a thought along with all of its children using one command.

  18. Words of long length, more than 42 characters, do not come up with a match in quick search list box. Text must be backspaced to 42 chars to come up with match.

    Example:
The identifer of an existing thought is -
    !!ReSharper.ReSharper_GotoContainingDeclaration

    Pasting -
    !!ReSharper.ReSharper_GotoContainingDeclaration
into the quick search comes up with 'no matches'

Backspacing the search term to -
    !!ReSharper.ReSharper_GotoContainingDecla
brings up the desired thought in the list

    Expected behavior:
Pasting an identifier of any length will bring up the thought of that name in the list.

    Yes:
Indexing thoughts and search index were done prior to this behavior.

  19. Word, and some other programs, follow documents, regardless of how they are moved from one file to another. As it is, I have to settle on a desktop file structure, and never change if I want the links to TheBrain to work. I have a very large file system, and it occasionally need reorganization, which messes up the links. I once tried using Bento to organize some of these files, and it was a nightmare, for the same reason.
