  1. Version 15.0.539.0. bug on may Macbook pro desktop app

    I open the brain on the following thought (see screenshot). The thought contains a note with many tables (see share: https://app.thebrain.com/s/gilbrain/overall-ranking-by-ai):
    The output.log does not load - I guess too big >10MB
    A. The note handling becomes very slow and unresponsive.
    B. After a while the the plex and note disappear (see screenshot).
    I must close and reopen the brain to restore seeing the brain but situation repeats.

  2. Dynamically choose internal/external browser

    I'd like to be able to open the internal/ or default external browser based on right-click drop down choice when clicking url's. It would be nice to have the ability to dynamically select by toggle button or right click action...

  3. API for local brains

    I would like to have the API not only for webbrains but for local brains on the computer that are not necessarily synced to the cloud...

  4. New feature: custom font

    To the dev team: 

    All the bundled fonts are for English. So  this is not friendly for the Chinese content .

    Can you add  some opensource Chinese font as the bundled font

    Eg.    https://github.com/lxgw/LxgwWenKai/tree/main/fonts/TTF

    The above font is An unprofessional open-source Chinese font.

    Or can you  add the function to import the custom font, then use the uploaded font for the content in Note panel?

  5. Enable a static Outline View (disable animations)

    Add an option to simply deactivate the animations and keep the outline view permanently expanded (while allowing for manual expanding/collapsing of branches as desired), instead of automatically collapsing all other thoughts whenever a subthought is made active. Basically, working ALL THE TIME way it works when the root thought is active.

    The Mind Map view sort of works like this, except it willy-nilly switches thoughts between right and left to "maintain visual balance", which is also not configurable.

  7. Please make the following changes to the web client interface

    (1) HIDE the admin features from public (logged out) view. Public readers of a shared brain do not need access to these features, and they only add to the confusion of an already unusual interface.

    Almost any other software that is able to play movies has an option to loop the file your watching continuously. Not Thebrain... GIF / MP4 / MOV / ... doesn't matter, just add an option to loop the content independent from the platform (browser/desktop) your using, please!

    After the experience of the past 5 years people are moving away from large corporations; they no longer trust them.   10. Request to Add Outline View Mode to The Brain's Cloud Version

    I frequently use the outline view mode in The Brain Software, as it significantly enhances my ability to organize and visualize information. However, I've noticed that when I share a Brain with others, the web browser version of The Brain currently lacks this feature.

    I believe the outline view mode is a valuable tool that would greatly benefit users of the Cloud version as well. Is it possible to add this feature to the Cloud version of The Brain?

  12. Bring back partial search option - an important search function was removed in update

    Bring back partial search requests. Or use a single-digit wildcard to fill in missing info.

    I used to be able to search for the last few characters of a string but that option has been removed in one of the updates.

    Searching is now harder to use and find things.

    For example:

    "What is that 4444 number I saved? I forget. It's like 855, or 866-555-4444. Or is it 800?"

    Search for 4444... nothing shows up.
    Search for 8665554444... nothing shows up (because I forgot to add dashes)

    In the older versions, I could find something like that easily.

  13. I would like to use an AI tool like perplexity or even internal Brain AI to search all thoughts and attachments

    Right now the Brain ai tools go to the web to get their results. I would like to use all the information I have in my brains as the data source instead or in conjunction with the WWW. So this search could be from within the brain or via an external ai tool like perplexity

  14. Backlink support in Android and iOS apps

    Need support for viewing and adding backlinks within the Android app. Such a feature is important within The Brain, so lack of Android support is puzzling.

  15. Match web client note formatting with the desktop

    Our previous web client faithfully replicated ALL of the note styling and formatting from the desktop.

    This duplication was lost with the launch of Vulcan, and I would very much like to see it restored.

    This duplication would include:
    * All note background colors (including replacing the default grey background)
    * All note fonts
    * Much, MUCH lighter weight horizontal rules that do not dominate the page

  16. Features to add to mobile app

    Calendar should be visible in mobile apps, we should be able to edit link labels/name thought relationships in the mobile apps.

    Basically, if we want to put all our thoughts out in the brain but we cannot access it on our phone app (since a laptop/ipad is not portable all the time), it makes it less useful. The phone app should be a close replica of the desktop app to really make thebrain more useful to the users. Thanks.

  17. Enable AI to Summarize PDFs into Notes

    I save many PDFs as child thoughts under a parent that describes the area of research those pdfs are relevant to. It would be useful for AI note generation to be able to use the contents of the PDFs. In this way a thought that contains a PDF could have a summary of the PDF as a note and I wouldn't have to open the PDF and read it entirely to know what it contains. Similarly, the parent though could contain a summary of the PDFs contained in its child thoughts. While I have focussed here on PDFs, this could…

  18. Manual Sorting for Thoughts

    Add the ability to manually sort thoughts under a parent.
    Currently can use hidden numbering, however this is hard to maintain if the sorting needs to be adjusted, especially changing number in the middle of the sort.

    Thanks for all the feedback on this one. Drag and drop re-ordering of thoughts in the plex while in the normal layout is included in 15.0.533 - see the release notes for more details. The ability to drag while in other layouts is in the works.

  19. Font settings for note area

    The fonts of paragraphs and headings at all levels in the note style can be set individually just like in the theme settings. and it is useful to solve the problem of personalization of notes for users from non-English speaking countries by directly calling the fonts installed in the system, especially to solve the problem of abnormal rendering of English characters when mixing Chinese and English, which is more conducive to the internationalization of TheBrain.

  20. Add support for MathJax formulas, just like ANKI.

    Both thoght nodes and notes support MathJax mathematical formulas to solve the problem of inability to input in subjects such as physics and chemistry. In addition, the formulas can support Chinese and other non-English characters.
