  1. Add an option to simply deactivate the animations and keep the outline view permanently expanded (while allowing for manual expanding/collapsing of branches as desired), instead of automatically collapsing all other thoughts whenever a subthought is made active. Basically, working ALL THE TIME way it works when the root thought is active.

The Mind Map view sort of works like this, except it willy-nilly switches thoughts between right and left to "maintain visual balance", which is also not configurable.

So what I'm looking for is the strict left-to-right orientation of the Outline View (which is great) plus the stability of the…

  2. Make any animation/movie file continuously playable in a loop inside Thebrain

Almost any other software that is able to play movies has an option to loop the file your watching continuously. Not Thebrain... GIF / MP4 / MOV / ... doesn't matter, just add an option to loop the content independent from the platform (browser/desktop) your using, please!

    Best Regards

  3. I frequently use the outline view mode in The Brain Software, as it significantly enhances my ability to organize and visualize information. However, I've noticed that when I share a Brain with others, the web browser version of The Brain currently lacks this feature.

I believe the outline view mode is a valuable tool that would greatly benefit users of the Cloud version as well. Is it possible to add this feature to the Cloud version of The Brain?

Your assistance with this request would be greatly appreciated, as it would improve the overall usability and sharing capabilities of The…

  5. Bring back partial search requests. Or use a single-digit wildcard to fill in missing info.

I used to be able to search for the last few characters of a string but that option has been removed in one of the updates.

Searching is now harder to use and find things.

    For example:

"What is that 4444 number I saved? I forget. It's like 855, or 866-555-4444. Or is it 800?"

Search for 4444... nothing shows up.
Search for 8665554444... nothing shows up (because I forgot to add dashes)

In the older versions, I could find something like that easily.

  6. Our previous web client faithfully replicated ALL of the note styling and formatting from the desktop.

This duplication was lost with the launch of Vulcan, and I would very much like to see it restored.

    This duplication would include:
    * All note background colors (including replacing the default grey background)
    * All note fonts
    * Much, MUCH lighter weight horizontal rules that do not dominate the page

  7. Currently the only outlining features available in notes are
    1. Create structured or unstructured notes
    2. You can move a line up & down using keyboard shortcuts

    Assume My outline looks like
    This is Root
    -------Parent A
    ------------Child A1
    ------------Child A2
    ------------Child A3
    -------Parent B
    1. If I were to move Parent B up , the expected B should be
    This is Root
    ---------Parent B
    ---------Parent A
    -------------Child A1
    -------------Child A2
    -------------Child A3
But the behaviour in notes in

    This is Root
    ------Parent A
    ----------Child A1
    ----------Child A2
    ------Parent B
    ----------Child A3
    2. Same for Indenting & Outdenting of nodes…

  8. Implement advanced boolean operators, with all the normal operators (AND, OR, XOR, NEAR, NOT, and exact phrase match) and parenthesis support for precedence.

Should search in titles, note's contents and hopefully in the indexed attachment contents.

I saw that the vulcan web client supports this but as far as I know it only searches for titles and labels and attachments' titles.

Search in the web client and desktop now use the same underlying technology. Both web and desktop index all text associated with a thought including content within most attached files. Both web and desktop support boolean operators. We are working on updating the documentation - a slightly out of date version can be found here: https://bra.in/4jYgwA

  9. Fix the random decolouring of pinned thoughts.

  10. Have an option (default Off) to be Single Brain -- then Vulcan searches can hide the brain name, clicking a new tab opens a new tab not a Brain selection screen. There are some other streamlining points.

The option to limit searches to the current brain already exists - see the checkbox near the bottom of the brain settings dialog.

Also, the way brain tabs work will be vastly improved in a future release.

  11. A visible link button on the forum pages would help, to directly jump to the "TheBrain Feature Suggestions."

  13. I want to find thoughts that mention a specific word or phrase.

All search tools use a special operator for this: quotation marks, but not TheBrain Desktop and Vulcan. Actually, put quotation marks around any word or phrase, such as ["advanced search"], will show all throught that contain any words in phrase.

  14. Two-step verification (sometimes called multi-factor authentication or 2FA) should help us protect our TB content by making it more difficult for someone else to log into our TheBrain account.
Ideally, offer it with Microsoft or Google Authenticator apps.
