brainwaves
More than a year ago I wrote a text about brain waves. In this text I wrote down an idea that I would have sent to Mindmanager developers, but it got drown under other idea's and work and seeing now behind in time, this probably wouldn't have been the case if I would have used TB at that time, as this idea would have popped up once and a while, where now it was hidden in a document and luckily until now I still have a fantastic brain remembering it still.
At that time I was one of the first to jump into Google wave technology. This was in fact a new concept on communication, you could see it as a communication wave where people could jump into it when they liked and replay ( timeline of the communication) in order to understand what happened before and how did we come to the point where we are now in that communication. At that moment in time I just mapped this on what happened in my brain. In fact I mapped the Google wave concept on what I thought was happening in my brain. I had lots of brain-tracks where I was working on idea's and solutions, some of them ready to being popped out, others quite immature and needing lots of work to become usable or possible could end in not usable at all or solved to my pleasure by others. So I thought why not 'brain-waves' !! Like the Google communication waves these should reflect how the current state of the brain-wave came to live. Google's concept was of course based on communication between different people. So I wrote this text to have a similar way but on mental(brain) level and if we could succeed in building it into a mindmapping tool (Mindmanager I was using and still). But as I came to know TB this could become a possibility to include 'brain-waves' into it. In the forum I mentioned also 'time-line' + story telling ( as TB is currently very weak on presentation/communication to the external world, problem is that most TB people hide themselves behind the cloud solution). But I agree cloud is part of the solution but not the solution. It helps to share content be it privately or public. I am really surprised to see that idea's (brain-waves) for TB are captured here in a flat website with a small window to type in while TB has the solution within their product !! But to be honest and not to step on toes, the more subject matter experts in the game the less the real problems and issue are addressed in the correct way and what is most frighting is that fact that most of these SME's know it. For instance: why are you not creating a public brain about interesting problems, issues,... and why not for your own sake create brains about specific problems about TB product. Example: Create a public brain or if you want it to keep among your customers a customer private brain about how to make TB better in presenting its content to the external world? Or a brain where you can handle the security aspects, a brain about particular types of thoughts (task/activities thoughts with different presentation views (list/gantt-chart,..), mind-map thoughts, list thoughts),.... When stepping in such a brain one should be able to see the evolution of the brain-wave over time and this would help to understand it and take it a step further. But this demands for meta-data around thought (who added it, when, where, why, how). Every brain-wave would become a story and storytelling is the best way to get in peoples brains as these stick (myths a ferry tales). It should be possible to share specific brain-waves with people - so you can share you idea with someone and he can add his views/ideas. So we could build global wide brains about specific subjects/issues and get different points of views/solutions together.
