  2. PureText

    Dear Mr. Brain. Could you please include "Pure Text" or "Textile" in View menu option? How it is, I need to use textmate or notepad to clear all text formats before paste in The Brain. Using "Pure Text" it would be faster to work with text in TheBrain ;).

  3. Improve the graphics to the level of InfoRapid

    My attempts to use PB thru the years have always stalled on the graphic appearance. I find it a bit too retro? and prefer a bit more eye candy.

  5. I would like to add "public" online webbrains, to be available via the TheBrain v7 Client

    The ability to add others web-brains to be available through the v7 client. So people can add others brains and I could open via web browser rather than having to go to my browser.

  6. add Prolog style search syntax

    At the moment for Search the user is restricted to either a bare text search or a keyword based one. It would be very useful to have a more sophisticated search while maintaining the benefit of being able to search by simply typing text into a box rather than having to pop up a complex dialog box which obscures the Plex.

    Prolog is fairly old as a programming language but supports an excellent and concise search syntax which corresponds to TheBrain's data model exactly. Moreover because it is old the techniques for implementing that syntax are well documented.

  8. 1 toolbar button for expand all/collapse all - a toggle for a toggle, rather than 2 buttons!

    The expand all and collapse all button on the toolbar. It seems this is two way switch. I find that annoying that I have to move the pointer when I want to toggle between the two states ,"expanded" and "collapsed" and I often find that nothing is happening because I'm clicking on a disabled button. Wouldn't it be easier just to have a single button, which simply alternates what it has on its face, + or -, depending on the current state? You seem to use this paradigm elsewhere in the brain, like maximise/restore and toggle floating.

  10. search on alternative text of inserted pictures into nodes

    In the notes section it is possible to insert a picture. For the picture you can define an alternative text.
    If I search this alternative text with the PB6 Search button, it will not find it.
    So the new feature is that the search button also find the alternative text of pictures and guide you to this picture.

  12. Create functionality within TheBrain to synchronize tasks with Google tasks and/or Toodledo.

    Now that the Brain version 7 has regained its capability to synchronize with Google calendar, it would be very useful to also develop synchronization capability with Google tasks and/or the leading independent tasks manager Toodledo. Thoughts good be created as usual but then could be designated as a task. The functionality behind that would allow the user to set a priority, a due date, a completion tag, etc.

    Children of that thought (task) would be interpreted as subtasks. The task is not complete until any subtasks have been completed.

  14. notes markers on export

    Have text/notes 'exported' optionally with a simple marker of some sort so that when 'copy as outline with notes' pasting into a document it is possible to distinguish between thoughts (level x) and notes associated with thoughts at level x-1. As some other have suggested use of templates for notes then I guess this (and more) could be achieved that way.

  15. report on links and link types with notes

    As a business Analyst by trade and PB is great for modelling business areas .. but I do often need to get models down on paper periodically. This needs to include documenting links between thoughts (either via a proper reporting function or via something similar to copy outline with notes) i.e.
    A 'copy as outline' type of function that would return:
    John 'is owner of ' ACME accounting ltd
    John 'is owner of ' fido the dog
    fido the dog 'is owner of' bone
    (where 'is owner' is link type)
    Also need to be able to optionally output the notes…

  16. Making applying a background color to a thought type more intuitive.

    You should be able to select text or background within the color wheel, and not have to jump out to Preferences, Look & Feel to choose where to apply the color.

  17. Please remove “Make Public/Make Private” drop-down menu option from TheBrain 7

    or at least put in safe-guards that prompts the user whether they are absolutely sure they want to change their brain security settings. I’m terrified of my personal (private) data brain being made public by a program bug or having accidentally selecting the “make public” option from the drop-down menu. It really needs to provide a confirmation box rather than simply toggling between private/public without any sort of “are you sure?” dialog. I don’t think toggling a brain between being private and publicly available should be so easy. Once your private data is made public, it’s too late.

  19. TheBrain7 should be OSX Lion friendly by supporting Full-Screen functionality: http://www.apple.com/macosx/whats-new/full-screen.html

    Last summer, OSX Lion introduced the concept of full-screen apps, an explanation of which can be found here:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/whats-new/full-screen.html

    TheBrain 7 really should be enabled to use this OSX Lion feature as the new version of the Mac OS has been out since last summer.

    Being able to swipe between full-screen apps is essential to the Apple OSX Lion desktop experience. The lack of the functionality makes the program awkward to use within OSX Lion, if not less beautiful and intuitive.
