  1. Synchronization is great, but I'd like to be able to create a local instance of an online brainfile without needing to leave TheBrain's UI. Better yet would be the ability to use TheBrain UI as a read-write-admin client for webbrain hosted brains. (As one would in Lotus Notes)

  2. Enable TheBrain to leverage the Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) initiative. OSLC aligns w/ the W3C Linked Data initiative.
The model (designed after the world wide web model) allows OSLC to keep things simple, build on the WWW and accommodate different schemas. Below is a link to the specification.

  5. Everything else seems to synch via WebBrain from machine to machine very well. Being able to see the thought history from one machine to the next would be helpful.

  6. Instead of having to drag/drop every contact from outlook into the brain, having an auto-import contacts function in the brain preferences would be massively helpful.
This could be configured to be selective from your outlook contact list and also be configured to auto-add new contacts (for instances when a new employee comes on board in your company, etc).

In fact, this could be massively configured as a great jump off point for new brain users who want to use it to track a large list of customers across several organizations (auto create organizational hierarchies based on contact info/company/names, etc)

    Also…

  7. When I have multiple brains on my top toolbar, It would be useful (in addition to the existing notification flyout) to change the color of a brain that has been remotely synced with changes from outer users, so I know there has been a change since I last viewed that brain.

  8. Once a group of selections are made (list displayed after Crawl and modify) applying a similar function/attribute to that list should be easy.

    examples:
Dragging the bottom gate from a pinned though to the list should automatically make all thoughts in that list a child of the pinned thought.

Dragging the color wheel to the list should pop up the color options and apply the selected color to all thoughts.

Dragging a tag from the tags list should apply that tag to all thoughts.

Perhsps even the selection header that appears at the top of the list (eg: Selection (156))…

  9. Think of it in terms of Microsoft Outlook's Calendars feature, but for links and thoughts in the brain.
Choose to see just your links/thoughts, or any number of other users links/thoughts (permissions based of course).

Hardened Synapses: Administrator locked thoughts and links to/from specific thoughts. Cannot be forgotten, modified or unlinked from each other.
Purpose: To create initial brain structure.

User Specific Links: Users make their own links and associations independent of other users.
Purpose: Eliminate link overload for huge brains and allow individual users to link only what they want to themselves while still contributing to the brain as…

  10. It could be in a business card format found under a Tab near the Notes or Thought, Tags, Search etc Tabs.
Many thoughts are an individual's name who is related to a project or other thoughts. Being able to view their contact information within the TheBrain would prevent opening another program to get the information.
(For personal and security purposes, this might be an option for private Brains only, not available for the public)

Once in place, this could create options for syncing among other programs or software's for the future.

    Looking forward to feedback!

  11. I am a radiologist constantly building on my differential diagnosis brain.

I would like the possibility to select several thoughts in my brain and then having all thoughts displayed that have links, not to just one of the selected thoughts, but to ALL the selected thoughts.

This can be very usefull in making a differential diagnosis. For instance I could select the thoughts:
    -Liver
    -Mass
-Imaging property 1 (for instance hypervascular)
-Imaging property 2 (for instance contrast washout)

And then have all thoughts (diseases) displayed that are connected to all these thoughts.

You could also consider making the brain a…

  12. When I click on a TAG to review all related thoughts, I would like
the ability to set the focus on one of the thoughts that are displayed
without that thought taking center stage. That way I can launch files
attached to a child thought without having the organizational layout change. I find this view extremely useful for project management.

  14. from http://forums.thebrain.com/post?id=5781324

With multifaceted thoughts it will be possible to contextualize each thought; type, tags, notes and links could be assigned to a thought in a context, others type, tags, notes and links to an other context, ...

    Multifacettes examples :
    - One facette of the Bouygues Telecom company is to have been my employer, an other is to be my actual ISP and mobile phone furnisher,
    - one facette of me is to be a father, an other is an IT manager, a third one is a genealogist, ...
    - one facette of my sales process is to be…

  15. The ability to type neat, vertical fractions in thoughts/notes instead of being limited to single-line fractions.

    Single-line fractions: (a + b + c)/(d - e)

Neat, vertical fractions: The fractions you would type using the 'insert equation' feature in Microsoft Word 2007.

  17. hi., i think it would be great if hinding / viewing PRIVATE thougts would be user preference switch or menu (view) option.... and if possible with a password protection ...

I wanna put some private thougts into my brain but when i demonstrate my brain to other people i do not wanna show these private thougts to everyone when i come accross these thougts ..

due to the random-3d way PB works you never know where you end-up...

Adding a password to the selection would make it even better and allows for adding for example sensitive info to thougts ..

  19. I am impressed from your last idea about personalbrain, its wonderful, but
I would like to see something, that would like to see a lot of people too.
It's 3d view, real 3d view, not illusion of that, as example I can offer
imindmap ( I know that it's your opponent) but they are begin doing 3d
model of minmaps, I see that it will be wonderful idea for you too, because
I like your softwear very much, look around, all what we have is 3d
objects, mind thinking too. and It will be more easy to see our mind…

  20. It would be good to be able to to type an abbreviation in the Notes area which will expand after hitting the space bar to a pre-defined form.

First, It would be necessary for the PersonalBrain developers to add an official (in the software) Thought Type category like, "AutoForm" or something like it.

Please note: the long descriptive abbreviations used as an example below are for clarity. They could be as cryptic or as descriptive as desired.

As an example, the user would

    • Create a Thought abbreviation like, "BidForConstructionBusiness,"

    • Set the Thought Type to "AutoForm" per the above.

    • In the…
