Project/Workspace on left/right sides of Plex
I am a one-brain scheme follower.
In PersonalBrain, I get lost easily, because I forget what I want to do initially, while jumping from Thought to Thought.
Future version of PersonalBrain can help me out of this trouble by introducing the concept of Project/Workspace, which is widely used in IDEs for software development and project management softwares.
Take a look at the popular text editor ultraedit's screenshot here: http://foliovision.com/images/2008/01/ultraedit-screenshot.gif.
What I recommend is a new area(or areas) in Plex similiar to the 12th area in the screenshot, which can be .displayed dynamically on left/right sides of Plex.
Three views are available now in PB.
More view types can be made: see: http://thebrain.uservoice.com/pages/general/suggestions/76557-traditional-table-view-and-more
But displaying one view at a time is just not enough.
The contents in the new areas can be Thoughts in the brain, links to a Thought's notes, attachments. They can be arranged hierarchically. The relation between contents inside a certain project/workspace can be seen as a special links, available only when the corresponding project/workspace is opened.
The position and appearance(different fonts and color for contents in different levels of the project tree) of the project/workspace can be set.
The project/workspace area(s) can be activated by mouse moved to the left/right sides.
It is logically similiar to PB's outline view and a practical use of the Multi-Plex idea.(see:http://thebrain.uservoice.com/pages/general/suggestions/69026-multiple-plex-view).

A work around for this is use url like "brain://brain_guide/thought_guid" in external programs, like a html editor to work as a project.

Hi, jroeterd,
Thanks for the comment.
The essence is that I need two views simultaneously. One is tree-like, stable and shows me the big picture. Another is more dynamic one shows the details.
You are right that we can use pins to guide us. A list of pins can work as a project. But only one project at a time. Since I am a one-brain user, one is not enough. Does this means something to you?
There are ways to work around, almost always. PB provides us the framework, super-flexible. We can use it in anyway. But concepts in knowledge/project management can be introduced into it, to make it get closer to real world. I should have the money to buy BrainSDK or the time to develop the same framework and code it to meet my own needs. Or thebrain can bring the API. -

I do not understand how a workspace would help you remember what you came to do? If it is to have multiple seperated starting points to work from pinnend thought seems enough for me. Also that certain links will only be available as a corresponding workspoace is open sounds to me a bit scary. A would prefer to make effort on other suggestions ... So no point from me.
