  1. There are many graph-based network analysis software tools available but, as far as I know, they all require structured electronic data such as email logs or data from participation in online discussions. TheBrain is already excellent for developing and managing unstructured data, for example, business relationships between companies observed over time by monitoring trade journals or Google Finance etc. It can also manage "multi-nodal" networks by using thought types, link types and tags. However, it does not allow anything more than a casual analysis of the resulting networks.

However, it comes close. By using custom reports and then sorting by…

  2. Following the analysis of the local and the webbrain will be usefull to have a report listing the files will be modified and in which direction.
The system should include the option to change the direction (may be my modification on the webbrain was wrong). This system will allow also the management of the conflicts and several issue with the synchronization.

  6. Transparent mode is great for seeing what's underneath, but sometimes the notes dialogue can get in the way. It would be great if the auto-hide behavior applied to transparent mode as it does in window mode.

  9. Currently, search criteria are highlighted in the search results for hits inside of a note. However when the result is clicked to load the note, hits are not highlighted in the notes area. I use lengthy text in the body of my notes and often it is cumbersome to find the hit in my note (despite seeing it in the results box). It might also be good to highlight relevant items in the Thought box. This can be cumbersome as well when there are many documents in the list.

  11. Would be nice to be able to subscribe to some maps in Web Brain from other users, and for pro users to sync to the desktop. Obviously your company could charge more for the service than the "owner" of the web brain would be paid, thereby making the web site pay for itself.

  12. Would be nice to be able to mark "favorites" for quick access to some of the web brains posted. Also to "share" favorites with others via a web link.

  13. Links are relations. Relations come in two flavors: symmetrical and asymmetrical.
Asymmetrical relations often have an inverse, i.e:
    A is-teacher-of B, implies B is-pupil-of A.
Assuming that A and B are thoughts, one could show one or the other relation, depending on which thought is active.

  14. I know I can add multiple thoughts using this syntax: thought1; thougth2; thought3.
Adding multiple thoughts and their notes at the
same time, using a syntax that could be something like: thought1 [note1]; thought2 [note2]; thought3 [note3] would be great too.

    • Have the ability to zoom in and out of Expanded View. To see entire brain.
    • Have a magnifying glass tool to hover over sections of the brain, like Google maps or other geospatial applications.
    • The ability to activate thoughts in the magnifying tool's focus.

  15. I'd love to see more statistical tools included in PB, so I could get more out of the massive amount of data I've put into it. You don't let us export to csv or database formats, so how about giving us the tools to calculate the number of steps from one Thought to another, or the percentage of overlap between two Thoughts, or the quickest route from one Thought to another? The statistical and data modeling tools are out there, and a lot of them are free. Without the ability to use the data to the fullest extent (either internally…

  16. Currently the number of attachments per thought is very small and barely visible against the background. Could you change at least the background to a better colour such as red?
    This would greatly improve readability.

  17. Sometimes I like to drag emails into the Brain that are part of a chain in which several recipients have responded separately, and thus all emails have the same "subject", e.g.: "Re: Your Idea". I would LOVE to have an option of automatically appending the Date and Time of the email to the "subject" to create a unique "name" for the internal *.msg file.

My work around is to rename each message before I drag in another, but this is slow.
    Thanks,

  18. Link or embed the ability to view Attachment pics and document thumbnails in a Zooming fast passed format. Make it so that if you hover over a tag on the side of your brain item, so you quickly look through the pics like one would take a picture book and thumb through hundreds of pictures in just 2 seconds with the ability to stop
on any one for a zoom in look,This would save me hours a day every day. Great for Graphic Artists, Photographers and anyone who use high volumes of imagery.
This alone would double the functionality of…

  19. Tags could be general - applicable to any thought type - or limited to or blocked for particular lists of thought types and their subtypes.

That way when I went to tag a particular type of thought I would only have to choose from the list of tags appropriate for that type of thought.

That would make the challenge of keeping a consistent system of tagging in a PersonalBrain or TeamBrain so much simpler at least for me.
