Enable Thought and Link tags in SiteBrain
If the purpose of SiteBrain is sharing the structure of one's Brain that can be intuitively navigated, it is reasonable to enable tags for links and tags/icons for thoughts. As Brains grow and become more complex, these features make life much easier for the users but are indispensable for those using SiteBrains. Specifically, I'm thinking of a sharing some complex ideas via SiteBrain on the Internet with students who do not need to be familiar with PersonalBrain itself.

Change background color of search box when it got focus
Something looks like this:
http://forums.thebrain.com/tool/post/thebrain/vpost?id=2173443Too many times when I try to type something in the search box, I found the text was inserted in the notes section.
It would be nice if the search box changes its background color when it got the focus.

Show active thought name in title bar
It would be very nice if there was an option in Preferences that allows users to choose whether "active thought name" or "brain name" to be displayed in title bar.

add "recent used" types to context menu - improve usability
Without "usability" features (to quickly do things) features become too time consuming to use. Types and Tags are useful but take too much time use use effectively. The new submenu structure for Types is frustrating because it creates new need to navigate an extra submenu. Submenu frustration is a well known major design flaw in Windows (how many times have you tried to "hit" a submenu only to have to start all over again). The Context menu should include a list of recently used types (and tags) to greatly improve use of those features (other suggestions have focused on the…

shortcut for last used highlight color
I use highlighting a lot in Notes (mostly yellow). It would be handy to have a shortcurt for the last used highlighting color - preferably a shortcut that can easily be performed with just the left hand.

Location of Files
It seems strange that the location of Brain files is not an option available in the Preferences - where users have set up brains in their own folder selections in the past it would be better to give them easy access to such folders under the Preferences set up.

Why not linking in the deep of thougts
I mean that i might be possible to get visualiezd access of deep thought on other dimension or to get on this way the backdoor to another brain to realize a kind of unreal 3D space.
The visualisation could be realized by tabs.
The idea is to give another meaning to the same namend toughts by localiezd it to different panes.
A futher idea is to distribude automatically the tags to the child thouhts...1 vote -
drag and drop options in Preferences
Currently the option available seem to be Move and Link - it would be nice to have the Copy option available as a Preferential selection

Eliminate the clutter: hide (not filter) nodes, links, styles
Personal Brain 5.0 has added some great capabilities in the area of node layout (save expanded views, outline view etc.) bit it still feels 'cluttered'. I think that these simple changes would make the graphs more appealing.
Mouse wheel drag (with keyboard shortcut) to increase/decrease distance between nodes, e.g. child nodes and parent, horizontal, vertical, sibblings etc.
Ability to hide link and node types. I'm not implying a more advanced filtering, but simply keep everything, but if link or node are of this type - make them invisible, don't draw them.
Node layouts - especially in outline view, top down,…

Bring node looks on par with other software
Personal Brain is one of the most advanced 'mind mapping and beyond' software titles I have ever seen. Yet, when it comes to customization of the look of the nodes, it's at the very bottom.
one can either set color of node background or font... come on it's XXI century :-) on the top of that, I have to make 4 or 5 clicks before I set the color and I can't seem to set color for multiple selected nodes
per node font type and size... again, it's XXI century :-)
nodes with multiple lines of text... I need to…
34 votesTheBrain 9 now allows setting of both text and background color. Using tags, it is possible to include multiple icons on a thought.
Future plans include the ability to have multi-line thoughts and differing text sizes. This is fairly complex to do unfortunately since much of TheBrain’s dynamic capability is built around automated layout of thoughts, which is difficult when they can be of variable height.

unify, modularize, and expose the search/report/filter
This is by far #1 limitation of the software. The search, filtering, and reporting capabilities seem too 'unfinished' or 'disjoint'. I can search nodes with words, but not report on them, I can report on some attributes, but not search on them, and I can't filter based on my searches... A powerful and modular searching would tremendously enhance the usability of the software when you have thousands of nodes.
Why not rethink the whole search paradigm and make 3 main changes:1) Modularize - look at search in Toodledo. Simple, yet very effective. You add additional sub-querries to make searches…

fix the annoying expanded view bugs
While the expanded view is a great idea, it has a few very annoying 'bugs'. They make the view almost a pain to use.
Zooming - even with pinned nodes, you should still be able to zoom in and out, either by keeping the structure and shortening the links (text size stays the same) or by doing a full zoom in/out (as if you're zooming a picture)
Pinned locations of child nodes are lost when the parent node is minimized... very, very annoying
you should be able to drag a selection rectangle or a lasso around nodes and quickly pin…

please make smarter use of mouse wheel in outline / expanded
I must say that this is one of the most annoying areas of the software...
- rather than having to click on the thought (sometimes twice) to use mouse wheel to increase the font size (sometimes the active node is out of the view) why not just assign a shortcut key that when pressed along with mouse wheel will adjust font size?
- along the same idea, another shortcut + MW would make horizontal spacing of nodes in outline and expanded views
- another shortcut would increase the spacing vertically
- yet another would make the links longer or shorter…0 votesJust a clarification: To resize text size using the mouse wheel, just put the cursor over the active thought – you do not have to click on it.

Quick way to move a group of thoughts
"Quick way to move a child from one parent to another" is implemented in 5.0.0.8. This is great!
But as described at here:
http://forums.thebrain.com/tool/post/thebrain/vpost?id=2758837Moving a group of thoughts from previous parents to a new parent could still be very time consuming.
Imagine if you have 100 thoughts linked to 10 different parents. Moving these 100 thoughts from their previous parents to a new parent, requires you to locate and unlink their previous 10 parents separately. Sometimes it could be difficult to locate the parents if these thoughts are "not well organized".
So it would be very nice if there…
