1. Enable Dynamic Thought Syncing Between Local Brains

   I love the copy local / web thought URL. However, I would like to extend the capability in this direction a bit further.

   I would like to be able to connect thoughts between two or more brains so that they remain in sync with the following functionality:

   • Sync this thought with another brain bi-directionally (latest version sync whichever thought holds last edited version or content)
   • Sync this thought with another brain uni-directionally (the identical thought in the other brain always acts as a backup)
     • For backup mode, define a number of copies of changed content within the thought
   • Be able to toggle sync frequency (manual, continuous, daily, weekly, etc)
   • These capabilities should scale to any number of brains containing the synced thought
   • The dynamic thought syncing must be driven through the desktop app only to permit local brains that do not have online access to sync thoughts with local brains that do also have online access.
   • Enable thought content granularity to sync only specific thought content from the initial thought in a local brain depending on toggle:
     • Sync all internal thought files
     • Manually select internal attachments to sync between thoughts in local brains
     • Select the [n] most recent files
     • Select files modified in the last [d] days or [m] months
   • All the above functions enabled through a "SyncLync" feature that can be triggered by dragging and dropping a thought between brains or menu command; each opening a dialog box for specific details, like the Event popup for Timeline in TB14. 2. Restore plex and notes zoom.

   On 15.0.95.0 running on macOS Sierra desktop plex and notes zoom are missing. No pinch/expand; no Command + "+/-", no dropdown menu picks. If there is a way to control the size of text (other than overriding the screen resolution, which is generally unacceptable), please make it obvious.

4. Bring thebrain 14 timeline back

   To the TheBrain Team,

   Please restore the classic TheBrain 14 bottom timeline view (or provide an option to enable it in TheBrain 15). Many of us relied on that persistent timeline for fast, visual navigation of our work over time, and the current alternatives do not offer the same clarity or efficiency. Bringing this timeline back, even as an optional legacy view, would preserve long‑established workflows and significantly improve usability for long‑time users.

8. Please make the following changes to the web client interface

   (1) HIDE the admin features from public (logged out) view. Public readers of a shared brain do not need access to these features, and they only add to the confusion of an already unusual interface.
   * To-Do List
   * Reports

   (2) Move the Home icon to the far left of the toolbar (between the name of the brain and the thought type icon). This is where most users are going to look when they want to navigate back home.

   (3) Move the Pins icon back to its previous location, immediately to the right of the tags icon. From a design standpoint, it makes sense to have all 4 of these icons located at the same end of the tool bar.

   (4) Restore labels to the pins in the plex

   (5) Provide an indicator in the notes when links point to a destination outside of TheBrain.

   The home and pins icons have been moved and this will be seen in the next web update. We will not be removing to-dos and reports as they remain valid features for users.

9. URL to reference files attached within Notes

   While having the URL of a Thought is fantastic and works well, I would like to see an option to create a URL pointing to data (or a file) in other places, such as Notes. My use case is as follows: I have a QRCode label on my circuit breakers that points to a Thought. I scan the label on my phone, which takes me to that Thought. From there, I navigate to the Notes section and am able to pull up my spreadsheet with circuit information for that panel. Not a HUGE issue, but it would provide ease of use value if it could point to the spreadsheet directly or, at the very least, to the Note. Thanks!

10. Adding a set of more meaningful export options (visuals, presentation, interoperabiity)

    I wish all the work I put up and all the great results I can achieve with TheBrain could be exported in some more meaningful (presentational, interoperable) formats.

    I am thinking of things like OPML, multi-thought PDFs including image references to the plex, visuals of the Plex – also local areals, and more linear ones like mind-/concept maps), ways to have slides as output etc.

    I am sure others will have some more ideas.

    But I feel the current set of export options of TheBrain makes it a very "mute" endpoint of knowledge processes in a lot of scenarios.

11. Search for settings

    with increasing functionality the number of options in settings tend to increase. With more settings searching for a specific setting becomes more tedious.
    Many programs now have search functions for their settings so I can find a specific setting quickly. It would be great if you added that to The Brain.

12. Context-sensitive delimiter other than a comma please.

    Being able to customize the "comma" delimiter would help provide clarity and identify purpose.

    Thought > Child or Child > Thought

    with other symbols like / @ $ or whatever.

13. Manual Sorting for Thoughts

    Add the ability to manually sort thoughts under a parent.
    Currently can use hidden numbering, however this is hard to maintain if the sorting needs to be adjusted, especially changing number in the middle of the sort.

14. Keep prompt input with output of AI

    working with AI in the note section: when I customize a prompt I get an output however my prompt is invisible. For later actions I would like to remember how I formulated my prompt. So it would be of great help if the output would start with repeating my prompt.

    I cannot find the setting to hide the parent thought in context-sensitive child thought names in TheBrain 15. I very much like that economical view and hope it can be added soon if it has not already been added.

16. Future vision of TheBrain and AI

    I already made a comment on another post but I thought it would maybe be also worth as a own post.

    It seems to me that TheBrain project seems to focus on utility and beeing an organize your tasks and thoughts project, because it can not really compete with normal AI as a knowledgebase and it shouldn't. But I think there could be an awesome way for the future to share your thoughts with others:

    I was interested in making my own AI and it is quite a hard task if you have some unconventional view on something, but in the end that would be of value.
    In a world where you can get any common knowledge within seconds from an AI, what good is the human brain anymore?

    Lets say you have some unconventional idea and you want to share your personal brain with others. For example:

    Salt is bad for health. Maybe you think its good and want to start a brain to make research and gather a lot of opinions and data.

    Now you start creating your TheBrain over some time and take into consideration different experts and aspects. You look into nature and observe animals or even your own bodies cravings after a sauna session. Let your Brain grow with different views. Your views. Come to your own conclusions and share them with others.
    Here comes AI into play. AI should be used to understand your brain and your connections. In order to do this, an AI has to be trained and in this training has learned a lot of "bias". In this example that maybe salt is bad like sugar.
    The AI should prioritize your logic and conclusions over the basic training.

    The advantage that a future version of TheBrain would have over AI is exactly this. The human again, that can question common misconceptions and share it with others. The people that can access this information utilize a chat bot that give them answers in this way.

    Who would need this?
    Basically any person that prefers his own experience/knowledge over AI common knowledge and wants to share that with other people in form of a chat interface

    Maybe the salt example was not perfect but I can see a lot of other potential uses for this:

    • People in the medical field that prefer certain uncommon meds or treatments (Ivermectin)
    • Homeschooling teachers organizing and sharing their curriculum/knowledge
    • Investors and their thoughts they want to share
    • experience with different herbs, meds etc - No recommendations ofc
    • your training methods
    • basically anything you have experience with and do not agree with the common AI answer and want to share it in a more deeply manner

17. I can print a quick todo list - CTRL (CMD) + P before a meeting?

    When I export .PDF or .HTML the little todo square list items - do not show up for print - missing both in .PDF and .HTML-

    but I wondered why not CTRL (CMD) + P just the selected text directly from the content - the only work arround seems to screen capture and then print - but my "system 1" wants to save seconds in a busy moment before a meeting

18. Watched Folder of Markdown Files

    Hi all, really excited about the new release. My request involves having a folder on the filesystem that is watched and any markdown files inside this folder are automatically added as children of the folder thought in TheBrain. Ideally, this would also support a kind of bi-directional sync or live view of the markdown files so no matter which tool they are worked on (e.g. TheBrain, markdown editors, etc) the thoughts in TheBrain contain (or can point to and display) the latest version of the file.

    I know this has been mentioned a few times in forums but doesn't seem to have taken off despite the interest, so I wanted to add another request as it would really eliminate one of the main points of friction for using TheBrain for my use case - which is indexing and adding TheBrain's additional layer of complexity for between-note linking onto my collection of markdown notes.

19. The notes and attachments sections open in separate windows.

    I would like to have the option to split the notes and attachments sections into two separate windows. Often, when taking notes, you have to juggle between the web browser (to open attachments externally) and the Brain. With this setup, you could stay entirely within Brain and continue taking notes without switching context.
    I could even imagine having the attachments section overlay or replace the Plex side panel, allowing full-length display of the attachment while taking notes—all within the same application.

    I believe this would improve the workflow.

20. New feature: custom font

    To the dev team: 

    All the bundled fonts are for English. So  this is not friendly for the Chinese content .

    Can you add  some opensource Chinese font as the bundled font

    Eg.    https://github.com/lxgw/LxgwWenKai/tree/main/fonts/TTF

    The above font is An unprofessional open-source Chinese font.

    Or can you  add the function to import the custom font, then use the uploaded font for the content in Note panel?
