  1. Calculations: an extra tab (besides notes, calendar, attachments etc.) for amounts or numbers or both. So the thoughts can be summed (sum of al childs i.e.) and /or multiplied and/or divided. Than one can visualize budgets or project breakdowns etc. Example of the idea http://www.matchware.com/en/products/mindview/mindview2_be/wbs.htm#05

  4. I use Evernote store a large amount of information and would like to use Thebrain to visualise that information. At the moment I can create a link in Evernote desktop then paste into TheBrain but then have to go back to Evernote to copy the title to paste into the thought. - Tedious!
Evernote is developing rapidly with 100 million users - business opportunity?
Mind Manager permits Evernote links to open in the desktop version where most users do most of their work.
    Something similar please

  6. It would be very useful to be able select multiple links, just as you can do with thoughts and perform mass-manipulation on them. Control-click a few links and they appear in the selection box on the left. From there you could easily set all links to one-way, or modify the type, etcetera.

Also similar to how you can select All child thoughts of a thought by control-click on the coloured circle it would be nice if could select all child/jump/parent links, e.g. by control-alt-click or something like that.

  8. I (Larry ERB) had suggested to your team a few year ago that your ability to look at large quantities of Jpg images or thumbnails of files was very restrictive and slow. I had suggested they team up with Cool Iris to view at a much more rapid pace. Android now has file viewing characteristics that are similar. Eg. on the their timeline viewing you can view several hundred thumbnails of images in 10 or 15 seconds.
This advanced viewing method if adopted by your Brain could entice our whole company to adopt your product again. However without this functionality,…

  9. In fact Notes should be like wiki's - this would make it more open and allows to copy/paste pages from Notes into other Wiki-implementation and vice versa.
Examples of missing functionality: I-frames allowing to include You-tube video or other, include audio. Missing the insert picture button. Simply: Make Notes a wiki format where you can toggle between preview/rich-text/html-code. It should also be possible to go into a wiki-mode view allowing a thought based wiki presentation view.

  10. It seems incongruous to recommend using TheBrain as a file manager while putting a cap on the amount of available space for syncing attachments on the webbrain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dhZx_iG54U

Please give us more storage space for attachments on our webbrain accounts. Free space would be wonderful, but even a paid option for more space would be a help.

  11. I have a feature suggestion that may appeal to current and potential “Brain” users who are students, authors, professional researchers, and the like. I suspect that the feature in mind would make TheBrain very appealing to a healthy slice of the tens-of-thousands who use the popular open source research tool known as Zotero. I believe that TheBrain’s utility would be hugely multiplied if were able to interface with Zotero's API. Generally speaking, TheBrain could use Zotero’s data in the same vein that it now uses the Windows’ file system.
For those not familiar with Zotero here is some info I…

  13. For cases where the relationship between nodes is not important, export the node data to a single html document that uses a header, record-loop and footer.

The html template would be loaded from file by the user, syntax would be something like square-brackets EG: <td>[thoughtname]</td>
Sorting of nodes would be by creation date, title or some other contained data, so long as the user gets to choose.
Node selection would be either manual (export selected) or using a filter.

  14. Last time I checked (v7) filtered view ends as soon as you do anything.
I'd like to see persistent filters that allow interaction with nodes.
In cases where a new or altered node no longer conforms to the filter, it should be visually flagged in some obvious way and not hidden until the user de-selects it.

  15. I think that after creating a lot of new thoughts as children, remote links or parents of the active thought, the possibility to define the type of the resulting links at creation time could save a lot of time. This is already implemented for thought type and tags, it should be easy...

  16. Allow users to create extensions for TheBrain.

TheBrain community is full of great ideas and I am sure there are many users who are capable of programming. Why not make it so that TheBrain's capabilities can be extended without much effort on the part of TheBrain company?

  17. It would be more practical if the user didn't have to press "save' everytime a thought has been edited in the Web-based version of the brain. It is annoying when a message appears prompting me to discard changes everytime I move on to another thought before saving the chages.

  20. Very often I need to open a link or attachment in another program than the OS default. I would like to set the program to open an attachment or link in the thought itself.

Example: My job is testing web applications. I have my personal preferences (Firefox) for a browser, but some job relates sites work best in 1 browser (Google docs -> Chrome), and for many sites to test my boss tells me which browsers are supported (usually IE).

When I click on a web link in TheBrain, it will always open it in my default browser. Then I…
