  2. It's common to mistakenly write text realizing it's all the wrong case.

Let's have the ability to format text to either, ALL CAPS, Sentence caps or other formats, such as is common within Word, Libre Office and other notes editors. Even Mindjet (the dying product) has had this ability for many years.

  3. I would love to use the reminder feature more - but I tend to use iOS (mobile) for this kind of thing and desktop brain reminders don't work unless I am at the computer on thebrain.....

Until now, google cal integration and reminders have been different - so something were I can get my brain notifications on iOS. In app push server support, maybe?

Also option for daily reminder email with todays/upcomming reminders would be good.

It would help my ASD/ADHD brain a load!

  4. I used a lot of LATEX to write long texts but now, I have pretty much switched over to use notes in the Brain.
One feature, however, I truly miss, is the possibility to hide text.

In Latex, whenever I put a % sign in front of a line of text, the paragraph will not be printed, the text is however still there.

Why is such a feature interesting?
I am writing a text that later I will print out as a pdf and hand out.
% I work on the tex for a long time and put in ideas,…

  5. It is not consistent at all. I cannot type into child thoughts, sometimes when I launch the app the brain does not show up, it’s just a white screen. Why is that? TheBrain basically does not work on IOS. Brains are viewable on IOS but it’s very difficult to “work” on IOS. Would love for you to get back to me with these issues.

  6. Note editor should be improved. I’m using Logseq as an outliner instead of the Brain because in TB you can’t contract and expanded outlined Note. The contracted outline will be expanded by default when you open the note again.

  8. The fonts of paragraphs and headings at all levels in the note style can be set individually just like in the theme settings. and it is useful to solve the problem of personalization of notes for users from non-English speaking countries by directly calling the fonts installed in the system, especially to solve the problem of abnormal rendering of English characters when mixing Chinese and English, which is more conducive to the internationalization of TheBrain.

  9. This would convey the importance or influence of an item. Optionally this could be done based on the number of clicks an item has. I think the basic concept has been termed "tag cloud" or "word cloud".

  10. Currently the only outlining features available in notes are
    1. Create structured or unstructured notes
    2. You can move a line up & down using keyboard shortcuts

    This is Root
    -------Parent A
    ------------Child A1
    ------------Child A2
    ------------Child A3
    -------Parent B
    1. If I were to move Parent B up , the expected B should be
    This is Root
    ---------Parent B
    ---------Parent A
    -------------Child A1
    -------------Child A2
    -------------Child A3

  12. While it's not clear why TheBrain developers dislike supporting Google calendar sync, deprecating the feature is not good. Many of the notes I create in TheBrain are related to events, and so the abrupt cutting off of support without and explanation puts all those notes at risk. Not a good call.

  13. One click to link all thoughts in a note. This will also serve to reactivate dead links (which happens when you merge thoughts then delete forgotten).

  14. Bring back partial search requests. Or use a single-digit wildcard to fill in missing info.

I used to be able to search for the last few characters of a string but that option has been removed in one of the updates.

Searching is now harder to use and find things.

    For example:

"What is that 4444 number I saved? I forget. It's like 855, or 866-555-4444. Or is it 800?"

Search for 4444... nothing shows up.
Search for 8665554444... nothing shows up (because I forgot to add dashes)

In the older versions, I could find something like that easily.

  16. 1) As a user, I would like to search on hashtags that exist in included markdown documents or that I might add to Brain notes. Currently special characters like # are stripped out of search

    2) As a user, I would like hashtags to work interoperable with Tags. Any found hashtags would show up in the Tags menu. This would greatly increase interoperability with other markdown tools

  17. Treat eml files like PDFs. Just show the to, subject, sent date, and body fields as if it were a PDF like document. I know that there have been a number of discussions on this subject, and the hangup seems to come down to issues with an email client. The common denominator is the eml file format. Allow us to attach it to a thought and view it's contents without launching an external app. Let us worry about how we get the eml file in the first place.

  19. analysis of all the documents and notes contained in a brain (a bit like in Google notebooklm) to be able to analyze them with artificial intelligence.
In practice, thebrain could become a digital twin of one's mind or personality (soul?) that can be interrogated to understand the characteristics of the things that interest us or if we insert a personal diary the characteristics of our personality or identity to be investigated and discussed with artificial intelligence?

  20. Virtually all of the major notetaking apps, and also a number of apps in beta allow information to seamlessly pass between Readwise and the notetaking app itself. It's an automatic transition. It would be incredible if could use this into the brain.
