1. Filter a view that would show only pending to do items.

   Filter a view to show all pending (or checked) to-do items. Currently, the right-panel tells me how many pending to dos there are, but then shows all items, pending and checked. I'd like to see only pending. Or, I'd like to see only checked.

2. Allow assigning preset templates to Thoughts

   Have the ability to apply a template to an existing thought, or at the time of creation.
   Thought Templates should allow setting:
   * Thought Type
   * Thought Tag
   * Standardised Notes text
   * Standardised Attachments
   * Date Incrementation in Thought Name or notes
   * Standardised link type (only applicable to link made at time of creation)

3. Enable an OFF switch for the AI tool

   This is a personal thing for me and maybe other users may feel empathy for me. I do not at this time favour the inclusion of the AI function and would appreciate if a user off switch would be best for strange users such as I. Maybe to make it a usage preference. I wanted to say I often pause using TB since the inclusion of the AI function. Yes I do know I can use it or not, yet the exponential evolution of AI is unsettling to this older mind. Sorry guys, I just have to say what I said.

4. Bigger max range for Timeline

   At the moment the biggest unit on the screen when you max zoom out is year. Should be at least century! I understand that most of the people are rarely need more than a year of navigation, but for historical events it would be so nice to have at least an option to have several centuries on screen!

5. Allowing the X.com AI API to be used as an AI option to the Chat GPT Integration

   The ChatGPT integration into Brain was in my opinion pure genius. Kudos to Harlan, Shelly, Matt, and all the engineers who made this possible.

   Now could you do the same with others besides ChatGPT?

   X.com AI integration would open TheBrain, in way I can only imagine.

   The note indicator in the Plex area and the back link in the note area can be hovered for viewing and editing like the Hover Editor plug-in in Obsidian. This is simply great. We need more powerful note editing functions.

   The recent list below the Plex area allows you to view older ideas by scrolling the mouse wheel, which is very useful for users with small screens.

8. Support structured notes

   While the free form of notes is useful, there are also scenarios where I'd like to feed/store handle structured data in my Brain (like records of database).
   So the parent thought could have some flag associated with it that would cause all child notes to have a certain type.
   And for every type, it should be possible to add "fields" to notes (in addition to a "text" field that all notes have). Field types could be (in addition to "markdown") be "integer", "float", "date", "boolean".
   And these fields should be available in selections with comparison options as appropriate for the fieldtype.
   etc etc... ;)

12. Separate background customization from thought Types

    Currently the only way to customize thought backgrounds, a valid use case on its own, is by assigning a type that has one associated by it. This renders the typing system useless.

    So for my (creative) work flow, I want to assign backgrounds and types, but they are not linked. Types are supposed to work cross cutting across the plex, but this breaks if your background-requirements are not exactly the same.

    It would make more sense to have background simply a property of thought itself. Or of tags with some sort of priority system, but that would be complicated in comparison.

    Use cases for backgrounds that don't exactly overlap with types?
    - Well, I have groups of nodes that I want to have a certain background, to help me orient where I am in my creative process... or simply to tickle my brain. That's not in the type-system domain and shouldn't be.
    - Another case is if you want use TheBrain to create a Prezi-like presentation, zooming from node to node each with their own background
    - One other case is if you want to use TheBrain as a choose your own adventure type of navigation.

    In other words, backgrounds is about visual stuff, not data typing and taxonomy.

13. Extend report concept to become dynamic plex filters

    The reporting function allows you to choose a combination of types, tags, and search criteria to return a set of matching Thoughts. Suggestion is to extend this concept to filter the set of visible Thoughts and Links in the Plex.

    Examples:

    • Select the ":Location" type and view the plex geographically, showing customer sites and navigating via cities, countries, and regions. Disable the filter to bring all the other context back.

    • Select either "#Services" or "#Licenses" to view sales opportunities relating to services projects or license sales.

    • Select ":Person" type and "#ReportsTo" tag to generate an org chart view. Add ":Location" to also include location information as above.

    • Select ":Company" type and combination of "#Customer", "#Partner", or "#Competitor" to view accounts and their relationships (e.g. subsidiaries, joint ventures etc.)

    Optionally, filtering could dim Thoughts that do not match the criteria, emphasising the important ones.

    Callouts helps us include additional content without breaking the flow of our notes.

    Add a few types to display with distinctive colors and icons to indicate the importance of the content, such as :

    • Note - Highlights information that users should take into account, even when skimming.
    • Tip - Optional information to help a user be more successful.
    • Important - Crucial information necessary for users to succeed.
    • Warning - Critical content demanding immediate user attention due to potential risks.
    • Caution - Negative potential consequences of an action.

15. Add support for MathJax formulas, just like ANKI.

    Both thoght nodes and notes support MathJax mathematical formulas to solve the problem of inability to input in subjects such as physics and chemistry. In addition, the formulas can support Chinese and other non-English characters.

17. Sort thoughts by number of links

    What I would Iike to be able to do is to find the thoughts that have the most links. I'm thinking that in the Report view area, at the top, there would be a way to sort the thoughts by number of links.
    I know in the Statistics I can see the average number of links per thought, but I want to know which thought is the "most popular".

18. iOS Widgets with Thought Note Content or List of Thoughts

    I'd love to see an iOS widget for TheBrain that displays the note content of a selected thought and another option to list the last x number of created, modified, or accessed thoughts. I'm only asking to show the data. Tapping on the note would bring you to the thought note in TheBrain, and tapping the thought name in the list option would open that thought.

    Apple Notes widgets are excellent examples of a thought note content widgets. I've attached an example of the Thought Note Content.

    Widgets enable background sync for the app on iOS, which could be an added benefit.

    Since, the new model by Open AI is launched and its relatively cheaper their its previous model. Is there any roadmap to adding o3 mini on the upcoming version?

    This provides larger context windows and better reasoning model which will be great addition to TheBrain while expanding our Mindmaps and thinking

20. adding BrainBox to the right click Context menu on web browsers

    I think adding BrainBox to the right click Context menu on web browsers would be a great and much needed improvement.

    Often times I search and find a link I want to add to Brainbox, but don't want to open the URL. I'm well aware of drag and drop, but that does no good when you use apps in full screen, I'm also aware you can Alt+Tab to TheBrain while in full screen while dragging the link, but if you have a lot of apps open, this is not feasible.

    Adding BrainBox to the apps area (See SingleFile) of the Context Menu would allow for quick and easy adding to Brainbox without having to go through other steps.
