A second Notes or "Preview Note" window in Tools
I know there's a request up for Multiple Notes windows, and I support it. But I don't consider the following a duplicate.
Even if it's impractical to flip notes up all over the Plex, surely we need a second Notes window in the Tools system. While "activating" one thought for update, we also "visit" other thoughts for reference and borrowing.
That's why there's also a request out to remember cursor positions in notes as we navigate thoughts. But the real difficulty is that we're using a single Notes window for both purposes. And without that second Notes window, we're always giving up our place, losing our train of thought...or, worse, composing in an external program that bypasses Brain and fights it for top window.
Right now, we have two different behaviors to choose from, based on the Tools toggle. Either click and activate a Thought to open its Note, or hover to open any note on the Plex.
A hybrid of these would keep the Notes window open on the active thought, including the keyboard cursor...with a second Notes or grey-background "Preview" window, read-only with select and copy capability, for the thought we're hovering. The Shift key would hold that Preview open; because once you move the cursor to cut and scroll, you're no longer hovering.
As a general principle, I believe Brain should adopt a vocabulary in future development that acknowledges the difference between "activating" and "visiting" or "previewing" a Thought. to build capabilities around both complementary functions.

I was thinking that the 'Properties & Attachment' window should have the Note text. That window stays open while you navigate inside the Plex.
I suggested that at : http://thebrain.uservoice.com/pages/4597-personalbrain/suggestions/308963-add-the-note-text-to-the-properties-attachments-windowMay be these two ideas could be merged??

Since information can flow both ways, the second Notes window might simply lock to edit the note of your choice, while the the first one works as it presently does, editing either the active or hovered thought's notes (via shift key), based on navigation and user pref setting.
Same principle here as the fixed row capability in Excel, the split window in Word, or pinned thoughts in the Plex.

Great idea. Imagine a second Notes window named Preview which changes content to that of the thought hovered over. Then have a hotkey which, pressed, immobilizes Preview, allowing copying/moving of text *without* changing active thought. Preview could have a red border to indicate status. When finished, press hotkey again to toggle off and restore mobility.
