Don't leave child level empty in Normal View
Please enhance Normal View so that when a thought with no children and no jump links is made the active thought, it will by placed in or remain in the "child" level, allowing more parent and grandparent thoughts to remain visible in the plex.
Presently, the "childmost" thought is shifted upward in these cases, leaving the child level empty and showing as few as two thoughts in the plex (the active thought and one parent).
This of course would not apply to orphan thoughts, which are not available for navigation in any case.
This request complements my request to add a grandparent level to the plex in Normal View (http://thebrain.uservoice.com/forums/4597-thebrain/suggestions/78696-improve-hierarchical-normal-view-with-grandparen).
In both of these requests the idea is to improve the richness of Normal View. The current Normal View plex can become "too empty" in some cases.
While the request you are reading would leave the three level plex as is, only shifting the active thought circle to the bottom (child) row in certain cases, my grandparent request would create an explicit grandparent level, that would (for example) not show jump links, just as the child level does not show jump links.
For reference, here are links to my UserVoice and PersonalBrain forum submissions for my grandparent proposal (which might actually make the plex "cleaner" when it is approaching a "full" display, or in other words the opposite extreme from the empty plex):
