  2. Words of long length, more than 42 characters, do not come up with a match in quick search list box. Text must be backspaced to 42 chars to come up with match.

    Example:
The identifer of an existing thought is -
    !!ReSharper.ReSharper_GotoContainingDeclaration

    Pasting -
    !!ReSharper.ReSharper_GotoContainingDeclaration
into the quick search comes up with 'no matches'

Backspacing the search term to -
    !!ReSharper.ReSharper_GotoContainingDecla
brings up the desired thought in the list

    Expected behavior:
Pasting an identifier of any length will bring up the thought of that name in the list.

    Yes:
Indexing thoughts and search index were done prior to this behavior.

  3. Word, and some other programs, follow documents, regardless of how they are moved from one file to another. As it is, I have to settle on a desktop file structure, and never change if I want the links to TheBrain to work. I have a very large file system, and it occasionally need reorganization, which messes up the links. I once tried using Bento to organize some of these files, and it was a nightmare, for the same reason.

  4. Just as all other changes to Brain are synchronized. Why not save files for extended views? It is very annoying, and simple feature to add!

  5. I would like to be able to create a url to any expanded view. Also would like an expanded views list in a window that lets me duplicate a view on the list.

And could you fix the speed of the brain, and get rid of the splash screen when I call a brain:// link externally.

Copy thought guid on context menu.

Allow dragging thought onto desktop and giving me option to deposit thoughts attachments, along with option to deposit thought brain:// link

    Hotkeys/menus for add/remove to/from selection, parents|children|jumps.

  6. Provide a function allowing a user to change the color one thought anywhere in in a brain and have its children and jump thoughts automatically change to the same color. The user should have the ability to limit the number of child and jump thoughts and thus eliminate a loop.

The color "synapse" would provide the user a means to isolate a train of thought from a large brain while still viewing the larger brain.

This would assist with process mapping where the interconnections of processes get messy when using traditional tree structures.

  7. Change my cursor into a knife so I can cut many links at once. Allow me to copy a thought type, or tags, or link type to a single palette, then allow me to dip my cursor in that palette and then click on many thoughts or links to paint them with that type or tags. Also, when I accidentally drag to an empty spot on the screen and get the new thought dialog, let me click anywhere on the screen to dismiss it. Also give me rubber band selection of thoughts, especially in expanded view where I need to…

  8. XML import needs deletion capabilities, perhaps providing the guid alone should cause a delete, or maybe put a safety node <delete/>, so that and the thought guid would cascade delete for <entry> and <attachment>. Secondly, make it so if I don't want to write an empty <entry> when I am importing a new <thought> and <attachment>, it will be created automatically. Third, if I am just changing <thought> data during an import, and I only offer that <thought> node, it currently whacks the existing <entry> and <attachment>. All of this stuff should be independently writable.

  9. Be able to create and maintain more than one (internal) Note per thought.

Each (Internal)Note could appear as one item in the Thought tool attachment list.

One note in the list could be designated the "Default Note".

When you click on another thought in the list, it would be displayed in the internal Thought Note Tool.

The Advantage to this, would be that the notes are displayed an maintained fully within the Brain itself, and Importantly, you could quickly switch between two or more notes, so that you could for instance, maintain note versions, Or be able to compare for…

  10. I realize this has been posted before but was done without a good rationale.

Humans are first pattern/image/symbol recognizers. Text is only a 2ndary learned skill. Every car, cola and other product companies know this! Civil engineers for street signs know this. That's why they push there ICONS first! (ask TheBrain's VP Ms. Shelley Hayduk, she has a psychology degree).

If a Brain has the choice of purely a symbol of image, with option text, the processing through a Brain's web would be infinitely more intuitive, a grab concepts easier. And image if some of the symbols were 3d?! that…

  12. In my field of medical transcription I have hundreds of terms in my brain. I can set the thought types all at once, but perhaps even more important is setting their relationship types all at once, because this is extremely time-consuming.

For example. I want all my terms to be stored under "Medical Terms" and the respective lessons I learned them in. Having either one of these umbrella topics as a parent completely messes up the display of sister topics under, say "Diffusion". What I'm saying is when I look at "isotonic" (child of "Diffusion"), I can't see: hypertonic: hypotonic,…

  13. I've seen references to API requests. I would like to see a REST based API to be able to create brains from other programs. I have an application that I am working on and was considering leveraging the Brain, however the barrier is to manually create it and then to maintain it. Doing so from within another application would have been a great advantage for my client.

In addition to that, I would need the Brain to be accessible from an iPad.

Any timelines for when a useful API will be released? If ever?

  14. Most of us have tones of passwords. I would love to store them in PB but
don't because of the security risk that would pose. I would love it if
there was an encrypted thought type. you identify the though as encrypted
and the contents (including notes) get protected. Without the master
password, you can see there is a thought there but the contents would be
    hidden.

  17. The full Bible text pops up (as hover text)
The default translation would be KJV, as there are no Copyright issues etc
    Example
Pointing your mouse at John 3:16 would show the following
(after a delay of 1 second)

    John 3:16 (KJV)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  19. If I create a new thought with the Title

    "Brain Suggestions List"
it could be auto assigned as a child to a Parent thought named
    "List of Lists - Global"

(because the parent thought had a user created script or rule that searches for any new thought titles including the string "List" in their title.

    Settings could include
    (Option - On / Off)
(1 entry per calendar day limit - On / Off)
    (stamp above / below)
