  1. I like the idea of using Thought types much more actively - to indicate the status my thought (I like that the icon changing visually to) - but that means changing them a lot all the time (like tags - but tags do not effect though icons) - That would mean only 1 mouse click instead of 3mouse clicks everytime I would change though type.
    (66% less clicking)

  2. I would like to see a robust PM module in PB like the one offered in iMindmap:
    http://www.thinkbuzan.com/uk/products/imindmap/ultimate/features#ProjectManagement

They have videos on their site that show the feature and this is an incredible time saver.

  3. Just like what you can presently do with SHIFT key to change child thought from 1 parent to another, but instead of unlinking ALL existing parents, would unlike JUST the one your moving 'from'. This way you can move thoughts easily from one parent to another without losing the other parent connections.

  4. I created a tag for the purpose of tagging Thoughts that contain information about something I need to do as soon as possible (this is my !Now tag). I keep this tag pinned for quick access, but without a visual queue (on the pin) to let me know something is tagged, I have to remember to click the pin once-in-a-while to see if something is outstanding.

So my idea is to allow a tag to become pinned automatically once it is assigned to a Thought, and to be unpinned automatically when the tag is not assigned. Of course no one…

  5. Sometimes relationships between thoughts can be complex (like the transformation of DNA into chromosomes). Since a lot of useful data can now be stored in a link, I would like for such links to show up in my searches.

Also, I see there is a timeline idea. Perhaps enabling thought links to become timelines associating a chain of events between two thoughts would be a good idea, too.

    1. In my presentations I hover over Thoughts that contain only a single image file, which allows me to move through the presentation without having to open external programs. The drawback to using this very effective presentation method is that I have to store each image's source file (e.g., a snagit file) elsewhere instead of in the same Thoughts with the images. I need to be able to put these, and other, files into a Thought but still be able to hover over the Thought to activate the image file. I.e., for each Thought that will be used as part of…

  6. if there is way to have a "Copy dropped files" function added to
the "On drag and drop of files" preference (UI).... Some files are referenced in other software thru links -- e.g., bibliographic software like Endnote and Bookends -- and need to remain outside Brain. At same time need to have file internalized for potability reasons.

  7. In all the brain possibilities you offer, they all correspond to an anglo-saxon- , linguistic/ syntax pattern, none of your "infinities" match the complexity of implicit cultures/languages... the decision tree shown here, is not the complex arborescence, hamadryade thinking. when are you going to start thinking about integrating these multi-dimensional ways of thinking (Leonardo da Vinci style) ?

  8. The ability to type neat, vertical fractions in thoughts/notes instead of being limited to single-line fractions.

    Single-line fractions: (a + b + c)/(d - e)

Neat, vertical fractions: The fractions you would type using the 'insert equation' feature in Microsoft Word 2007.

  9. I'd wish to copy Tags from one thought to another one.

Right click -> Copy Tags, Right Click -> Paste Tags.

Having to assign tags one by one and again and again is a very tedious and time consuming task.

  10. I tried to use Personal Brain in the Presentation Mode as an alternative to PowerPoint. However, as most beamers only got a rather low resolution, I get only very few thoughts on the screen. This severely limits the usability of Personal Brain for presentations. The current form works well if the thoughts only include a few words, but if you want to have a sentence or a quote in the thought, it doesn't really work. So what I would appreciate in The Brain is a word wrap function in the presentation mode.
In addition to word wrap, having a presentation…

  13. For example, if anatomy teacher needs to show the students parts of the skeleton - he has to make a link in comments. It would be really great if he could push on a bone and that exact bone idea appears.
The same can be used with maps - you push a country to open an Idea with that country. Also it can be used in astronomy maps, animals food chain, company`s structure etc.

  14. I would like to be able to apply special formatting to a thoughts such as Bold, Italic, Underline as well as different colours to a word or group of words within a thought rather than having this default formatting. E.g. let us say I have a thought named Most common Syndromes then I would love the formatting to appear in Bold and in red within the thoughts so it makes stand out more from the rest and will help remember information like catch eye effect or buzz word when the brain is large. Right now, only the branches can change…

  15. It would be helpful if Scrivener files (which mainly consist of a folder of RTF files) could be indexed.
There is a workaround by exporting the entire text as ascii and pasting it into the notes section of the thought but it's somewhat inconvenient.

  17. On many high-density notebook screens Notes text looks too small to read comfortable. We need possibility to do usual thing for text processors, readers etc - just change view and enlarge it (without actually change font of the note, of course, just the view). We can easily change view of the plex, making it larger or smaller, but not the notes text - and this sometimes becomes critical! :)

  19. Sometimes very important not only find Thought in your Brain. Using Brain as a tool for developing of information architecture or navigation design for web solution bring us to necessity to visualise the path between two elements (also works when Thoughts are the elements of process description). It would be nice if entering two Thought's name into search boxes we could obtain a Thought Chain (or Thought Route) that visually present all possible paths.
