Create a thought directly from clipboard or unbox on Android
Creating a thought out of a web link should be a lot easier and more intuitive. My suggestion: right from the + menu, without having to type the thought name first.

Expand & Collapse view for Node Types.
I have many node types and it is a pain to search for each node type view scrollbar. Could you implement an expand and collapse feature to reduce manual type-node search times.

The special characters tab for Mac OSX
The special characters tab is not present within your application for
Mac OS. This special characters which is present in the edit tab should be available and is available in all Mac OS designed applications since the tab is not an optional feature for all Mac OSX whether from Apple or private retailers. This special character tab allows me to increase speed in note-taking whether during lectures or
studying/revising as well as many other things.0 votes -

It will be good to have a feature that allows one to have different colours for branches automatically rather than doing it manually. This will help increase efficiency and speed as well as emphasise important points

Instant Search - Thought Attachment File Names
The Instant Search only helps you quickly find the any thoughts with keywords in the searchbox. How much would be a overhead of also including the names of the files stored as attachment to build the search index. This way you can to a an instant search on any attachments with a specific file names too.

Invisible Title Index Field
I might like to prefix clusters of child thoughts 01 thoughtawx 02 thoughtccg, 03 thoughtbzr, etc to create my own thought order. It would be great to have a prefix box (left of thought name titles) that is eliminated by default from being returned in search title results etc, Very very useful I say. Could be searchable as an option if you have a memory for prefixes etc

add tags as an option to the Colors theme
This would give the capability of having a color assigned to all tags for a Theme. This could then be used to identify the source .brain for a tag when we copy tags to other .brain files if we develop .brain-specific themes. Another way we could use this is if we use Themes to denote a particular mode (area of focus in GTD).

Clicking gate expands its Thoughts in Expanded View
If a non-active Thought in Expanded View has 50 children, but we only want to expand it parentwards, we should be able to do that and prevent its children from flooding the Plex.
I suggest clicking any of a non-active Thought's gates in Expanded View should expand only the thoughts linked to that gate, and shift-clicking it should collapse only the thoughts linked to that gate. This would make Expanded View immeasurably more user-friendly.

Option to automatically add last created Thoughts to Selection
This should be either an accelerator or an Options > Preference checkbox, preferably the latter so the user doesn't have to keep hitting a key each time.
Advantages of having this:
1) Allows user to type or tag newly created Thoughts as his next step without having to first add them to Selection himself, a process which takes several steps;2) Enables positive, persistent identification of newly created thoughts (by means of dotted border around them), which works even in Expanded View.

Mac: how to rapidly paste a web link from Safari into a brain?
hi to all
anybody an idea of how to do this?
Imagine you're looking at a website that holds some interesting information on a topic that you "brained".
Now instead of copy/paste of drag/drop I'd love to have for example a keystroke (via a service or applescript for example) that would allow me to "ditch" that link into the brain for later reviewing.any suggestions?

Create KBAs for 5 temporary bookmarks
A set of 11 accelerators named
Bookmarks > Set as #1
...
Bookmarks > Set as #5
Bookmarks > Activate #1
...
Bookmarks > Activate #5
Bookmarks > Clear allThis would take care of our temporary bookmarking needs. Along with the Pinned Thoughts List, Past Thoughts list and Tags, would cover all our bookmark needs.

Vary default link thickness
The default link thickness is set way too thin and this looks much worse when the Plex is scrolled to enlarge the font. Amazingly, the user is completely unable to set the thickness of default links, which would save wasting a lot of link types each time a particular link needs to be thickened.

"Link as Child/Parent/Jump to Active Thought" in Thought context menu
There's no reason why linking ONE Thought to ONE Thought should have to pass through the Selection Box. This is very inefficient. The Selection Box is efficient only when it comes to linking more than one Thought to the Active Thought.
The alternative method is to drag a pinned Thought to the Active Thought (or drag a link from it), but this only works in Normal View, and still requires pinning first, so there's no economy there.
What's badly needed is a one-step operation, from any non-active Thought to the Active Thought.

Restore Ctrl+H as keyboard accelerator
From 5.5.1.5 Ctrl+H has been withdrawn as a kbd accelerator as it turns out it is an alternative shortcut for Backspace. Since there must be very few keyboards without a backspace key, who would want to use Ctrl+H when a single key (backspace) does the same job? On the other hand, Ctrl+H is very easy to reach and deserves a more active life. So please restore it as an accelerator.

Kbd accelerator to Lock non-active Thought
When hovering over Thoughts in Plex, or using keyboard to navigate, being able to Lock the selected, non-active Thought would be a great way of ensuring its Note could be edited safely and also use the mouse for editing it instead of just marking its place in the plex.
