  1. Just as we can suppress the Active Thought Indicator, I'd like to see either a single master checkbox, or separate checkboxes, to suppress all these animations:

    • creeping white dotted line around selected Thoughts;
    • expanding supernova ring when URL is activated;
    • slowly rising yellow banner after copying Thoughts (replaced by status bar message)
    • collapsing rings around newly created thoughts (replaced by a single ring - see forum discussion)

    Since at least one user who shall remain nameless actually enjoys them, I would like to see these made optional rather than removed. Making them optional also allows us to re-enable them to…

  2. 1) Options > Preferences to display all Thoughts anchored (i.e., turn Auto-arrange off) when Expanded View starts. If Old or New Expanded, still start with all Thoughts anchored.

    2) Toggle switch on Menu to Anchor All / Release All Thoughts.

  3. In 5.0 we could not only display a link thickened when it was highlighted but assign a different color to it if we wanted to, to make it stand out from the others when we need to edit or delete it. The present situation is very confusing. For more details see:

  4. It would be nice if I know how many words in all thoughts (names + labels + notes).

    This could be added in the Brian Statistics dialog. See:

  5. This would permit us to do a lot more with them, such as subfilter them according to Tag, Type etc. Naturally they would only be displayed when Show Forgotten Thoughts is enabled. See here for full discussion:

  7. Outlines are useful for when you have the same children under many different parents. (i.e. I have 20 accounts, each has on Account Manager, etc. Outlines let me easily set each new account up.)

    The "Comma Trick" is useful to help identify which parent a child comes from. This is particularly useful when I have, say, 20 accounts, each with an Account Manager, etc.

    Since I want to be able to tell which Account (Parent) any given Account Manager (Child) comes from, I use the "Comma Trick". Since I want all of my Accounts step the same way, I use…

  8. when using copy and paste function the comma trick is copying the previous parentname into the new thought instead of inheriting the new parents name. If this would be fixed, it's easy to, on your own, create template thoughts, wich you can copy and paste within the brain.

  9. By adding or moving this command to the Thought context menu it becomes instantly available to any Thought visible in the Plex, not just the Active Thought. Adding single Thoughts to Selection is something I do frequently. Ctrl+Clicking a single Thought is inefficient and requires two hands. 10. I usually use presentation mode to - well - present to an audience. But after leaving PB idle for a while, the windows screensaver starts. In other presentation applications (like MS Powerpoint), the windows screensaver is disabled during presentations.
    Would be great if this feature could be implemented in PB as well.

  11. Rather than export -- sync or constaintly update/save a preferred HTML version (simple, sitebrain, or other at user's preference). This would allow me to download my brain to my smartphone or PDA for mobile use using any available sync method without additional steps.

  12. Recommend export to clean HTML version that is more mobile-friendly (no animations, etc).

  13. Hi all,

    One idea I would like to see is a brain distribution for the Java 2 Micro Edition. Converting from Java 1.6 SE to J2ME would allow the application to run on smart phones and most importantly the Blackberry system. Corporate users once exposed to this product would start demanding the enterprise edition.

  14. Use either an established wiki nomenclature (I prefer dokuwiki) as a "command line" approach to creating and editing brains. Let the PB interface be the WYSIWYG view, and the wiki-text the edit view, if desired.

  15. adding a menu item to also copy a thought's type on its right click context menu for pasting to another thought makes assigning thought types much quicker in on-the-fly situations and would be very useful

  16. Add a Keywords field to Properties & Attachments to store keywords, aka aliases. Keywords in this field to be available to Instant Search.

    Even better, P&A to be added to Create Child Dialog box so all data can be entered before new thought created, not afterwards.

  17. Sometimes, when I am working under a central Thought, I want to open an E-mail attached or invoke a program linked to another distant Thought. Then I use instant activation search. But I need to go back after opening the wanted attachment.
    In such a situation, a setting of opening attachments without Thought activation can make it quicker--"two clicks saved". A "Shift+Click" or "Ctrl+Click" way can be used to achieve this.

  19. Hold down Shift+Ctrl when dragging a Thought off the Pin bar and release to unpin it without creating a new link (as simply dragging it does now).

    Hold down Shift+Ctrl when creating a link between pinned Thought and any other Thought in the plex. This not only creates the new link but automatically unpins the pinned Thought.

  20. These would be some good features, especially if having small font in PB:

    • Make the distant thoughts zoom up when having the mouse pointer or the green ring over them.
    • Make the green ring be able to access the distant thoughts as well as the main thoughts.
