  2. I would like the possibility for some thoughts to select another background image. This could be used as extra info, for presentations and so on. If this should be combined with the timeline wish there should be a possibility to define how musg real estate in the plax that should go to timeline and how much for the normal background. I realize that the timeline may com in the form af another tag, but wouldn't it look great if it was part of the background that gave an indication of where in your timeline you were?

  3. The ability to type neat, vertical fractions in thoughts/notes instead of being limited to single-line fractions.

    Single-line fractions: (a + b + c)/(d - e)

Neat, vertical fractions: The fractions you would type using the 'insert equation' feature in Microsoft Word 2007.

  4. Please add an "Arrange By" thought property to set the ordering of a thought's children whenever that thought is the Active Thought in Normal View. This property should offer the same choices as the global "Arrange By" option, plus "Use global Arrange By".

When this property is not set for a given thought, it will default to "Use global Arrange By".

This request has appeared in the forums but usually in the context of other "Arrange By" topics, so I thought it might benefit from a clear statement separate from other requests.

This should be reasonably easy to implement as…

  5. Personal Brain is one of the most advanced 'mind mapping and beyond' software titles I have ever seen. Yet, when it comes to customization of the look of the nodes, it's at the very bottom.

    • one can either set color of node background or font... come on it's XXI century :-) on the top of that, I have to make 4 or 5 clicks before I set the color and I can't seem to set color for multiple selected nodes

    • per node font type and size... again, it's XXI century :-)

    • nodes with multiple lines of text... I need to…

TheBrain 9 now allows setting of both text and background color. Using tags, it is possible to include multiple icons on a thought.

Future plans include the ability to have multi-line thoughts and differing text sizes. This is fairly complex to do unfortunately since much of TheBrain’s dynamic capability is built around automated layout of thoughts, which is difficult when they can be of variable height.

  6. TheBrain use HTML to display notes. As a physicist, I often want to write math equations in LaTeX format. MathJax ( http://www.mathjax.org/ ) is very good for rendering math equations in LaTeX format. I hope math equations can be displayed in notes and thoughts.

  7. Having the plex on the desktop and not an app would allow users to see the plex by hiding applications. Also allow users to drag from apps to plex without having to move windows all around. I could really see this being a powerful tool for me if that was possible.

  8. Now that the Brain version 7 has regained its capability to synchronize with Google calendar, it would be very useful to also develop synchronization capability with Google tasks and/or the leading independent tasks manager Toodledo. Thoughts good be created as usual but then could be designated as a task. The functionality behind that would allow the user to set a priority, a due date, a completion tag, etc.

Children of that thought (task) would be interpreted as subtasks. The task is not complete until any subtasks have been completed.

If the task is to be shared with other people, possibly…

  9. When travelling overseas I'm subject to heavy roaming charges and limited data allocations - BUT I keep everything in my PB.

You've now created the iOS app, thank you! Please add the option to save and run locally. That will enable me to load up at the office, update in the field, and sync when I'm back to base.

That would be a HUGE improvement over scrounging for a wi-fi hotspot or blowing my entire data allowance on background checking a lead.

This, and Tablet ink notes are my top feature requests.

  15. I am a very moblie person and use multiple computers (sometimes with no internet access) throughout the day. I have long since outgrown USB Flash "thumb" drives and have graduated to USB hard drives that are MUCH larger. PB can only be installed to "removable" drives; Spinning USB drives register as Local drives and don't qualify. The result is, I now have to carry an extra USB Flash drive with PB loaded as well as my usual USB Hard Drive. It would be very helpful to be able to install PB in a portable fassion to a spinning USB Hard…

  16. I think an indispensable tool for the Personal Brain would be an API that allows one to use an HTML field to add a parent, child, or jump thought/type to a selected thought.

  17. This will allow the user to more rapidly create common (for them) thoughts and thought hierarchies.

The thought template would allow specification of standard display settings, type setting, tags, labels, and even standard child, jump, or parent thoughts.

When a new thought is created, the user will have the additional option of selecting a template to use when generating the thought(s). However, if the default option is sufficient they need do nothing more than what is currently done.

It would be nice to be able to specify the default thought template.

  19. It will be nice to have the possibility to use the asterix not only at the end of the searched text but also at the beginning.
For example: I can search with air* for airplane, aircraft, etc but if I search for *plane this does not give me any result.

  20. this bizarre behavior also activates when loading an expanded view. if i go to the trouble of eliminating some thoughts from the view, they shouldn't continually expand simply because time has passed or the saved expanded view is opened. this acts like a bug, but apparently is not.
