Global Zoom Word Cloud Graph - like in Zettelkasten
Please make it possible to zoom out the Plex, so all Thoughts are visible like "dots" and when I hover over a dot, the thought zooms bigger including the connected Thoughts.
Ideally with the Type and Tags -> like a simple "mouse over effect" that would be great.
Maybe this doesn’t add that much to the use of The Brain, but it would have a visual impact on users of The Brain.
At the moment I solve this with copying the selected thoughts als outline and let Claude Code build a Zoom Cloud Graph.

Retain status of heading folding state in notes
Currently when you fold a heading the information under it is hidden (standard behavior).
However, when you navigate away from the thought and then activate it again, all headings are expanded. It would be nice if the fold status of headings is saved with the note it retains fold status after navigating away.

Add Full Callout Menu Keyboard Shortcut
Please add an option to open the full Callout menu via a keyboard shortcut, with support for keyboard navigation of the menu and selection of a type, finally adding the type where the cursor was in the note.

add print functionality to the mindmap view
The 'workaround' of taking a screenshot and printing it is NOT suitable. I want to be able to natively print the mind map, several levels deep, on to A3 so it can be added to hardcopy report packs. To get all levels in a screen shot means zooming out, and then taking the screenshot, pasting it into something else and then scale it up to A3. This results in a really poor quality output.

Watched Folder of Markdown Files
Hi all, really excited about the new release. My request involves having a folder on the filesystem that is watched and any markdown files inside this folder are automatically added as children of the folder thought in TheBrain. Ideally, this would also support a kind of bi-directional sync or live view of the markdown files so no matter which tool they are worked on (e.g. TheBrain, markdown editors, etc) the thoughts in TheBrain contain (or can point to and display) the latest version of the file.
I know this has been mentioned a few times in forums but doesn't seem…

Viewing Images in notes independenly
I like to collect screenshots in my notes. Which is useful because it allows me to comment individual shots in one note. All is well and works fine - but I sometimes run into readability problems when TB isn't fullscreen or my notes panes it too small. It would be great if the context menu for images had an option to quickly zoom them out, show them in original size.

Manually set thought creation date
When creating a new thought, or pasting an older thought after copying, it would be massively liberating for workflow to be able to set a toggle to manually define thought date.

additional integration of the free version of the Mistral-Vibe AI (fast) Chat-Software, GDPR-compliant
We need and use alternatives to ChatGPT and Anthropic (BigTech models) in Europe, which is why I suggest integrating Mistral-Vibe with TheBrain.
https://mistral.ai/products/vibe/
The French product Mistral-Vibe is GDPR-compliant and offers a wide range of user features even in the free version (custom agents, reminder function, connectors, libraries, etc.) for organizing projects in Mistral. This approach seems to align very well with TheBrain.
It is likely slightly inferior to ChatGPT and Anthropic in terms of model performance. However, for the average user, the functionality is more than sufficient and satisfying, and it is one of the fastest AI chat programs…4 votes -
Allow a way to Explore (and favorite) Public Brains
Like it was possible in the webbrain.com/explore apparently. Other the listed vs. Unlisted feature doesn't make much of a difference. And allow the search of Public Brains in the Desktop Client, as well as the ability to download them for offline use.

Display backlinks and mentions in Web Client
I have used The Brain for years, but like many people I can't install programs on my work computer and must rely on the Web Client that syncs with the local installation on my personal computer. Backlinks and mentions are critical features for me, but they are not displayed on the Web Client. I would expect there are many in my situation who really want these features on the Web Client as well. Thanks for considering this.

Dynamic link to MSOffice
It would be very valuable to have a dynamic link capability between Thoughts and elements in MSOffice, especially Outlook. I am not talking about file links, but more like a direct interface so that a person in a Thought can be dynamically linked to their Contact in Office.

After clicking on the local path, the brain appears in the front-end application window, not in the background.

Sort Thoughts by Note word count
Add the ability to sort Thoughts by Note word count (the number of words in a Note associated to a Thought). This way we can immediately tell, among a large number of Thoughts, which have notes with more or less content, thereby determining the importance of the Thought/Note.

Enable opening thought links on iOS via other apps
Please enable opening thought links in TheBrain app on iOS (and Android).
I use e.g. OmniFocus and DevonThink next to TheBrain. On MacOS I can post links to relevant thoughts into those tools and easily access the thoughts as needed.
However, instead of opening in TheBrain, on iOS these links do nothing. This limits cross-app workflows significantly on mobile

The brain as a reading tool - able to directly support note-taking process.
--> (1) First of all - visualisation of e-books.
Currently, only PDF files are being visualised in the notes section. All other files are represented by a file name and an icon. In order to become a research and reading platform, more file types must be visualized.
And this is not difficult, as the visualisation code is available in open-source communities for free.
The following document types should be readable within Thebrain application:
type status Importance
PDF is visible, High supports reading
EPUB To add High supports reading🛠 How Hard Would It Be for TheBrain to Add Support? (Chatgpt-answer)

A whiteboard diagram type
Add a whiteboard diagram type. This would be especially useful on iOS / iPadOS so that we could use the Pencil (or alternative on Android, etc.) to sketch out ideas. At this time, we can do that in a separate app and copy an image to paste into the thought. But, I would be more useful to create and edit the whiteboard from TheBrain itself.

Add API endpoint to add images that are use in a note's markdown.
The /attachments/{brainId}/{thoughtId}/file can be used to upload files. But everything uploaded through that endpoint is visible as an attachment.
Looking at a note with an embedded .png, I saw those are stored in a .data subfolder - so we need a new endpoint (or an enhanced version of the one I mentioned) to allow saving files there.3 votes -
Customise Toolbar
These days, many apps have a feature to customise the toolbar: change sequence of icons or remove and add them. (Originally I was going to ask for a button to breing up the Todo List, but I realise that might only help me - while they real benefit would come if we had an option to just tailor it to our needs)
(Ok, maybe you think there are options that need to be there and maybe you always want them to be in that sequence - then at least give as the option to control a "custom" portion of the…

allow wandering sub-sections of the brain (sub-branches, specific tags/categories etc)
I really love the "wander"-function. And I think TB was also leading the field here, in terms of identifying the critical role of serendipity and re-surfacing, which all other PKMs normall identify very late in their product-cycles (if at all).
This is why I always wished this function would have some more depth, fingrain, and discriminatory abilities – for a somehow 'steered/guided serendipity'.
What I would hope for:
• wandering only certain sub-branches of the brain
• specify criteria for wandering (tags, categories, (fuzzy) search-strings…Thx for considering!
