  1. make it possible to preview attached pdf files (as you can do in a normal folder)

    I use the brain as my central filing cabinet. I do virtual work and am slowly going paperless - I use a scanner and scan many documents a day adding them to the brain thoughts that are appropriate. This is a wonderful feature, however, I need to be able to see a preview of what is in that thought when I am looking for a particular document. Let's say I have a thought called Corporate documents - I have scanned 10 documents and would like not to have to rename them - for the obvious time saving feature. If I…

  4. Display DATE, SENDER & Subject of .eml (email) files in Thought inspector.

    By far the most frequent thought attachment in my brain are .eml files (emails). Often there are several emails for a thought representing a single discussion. If an attachment is an email in a standard file format (e.g. .eml) it would be extremely useful if instead do the file name, essential header data like date, sender and subject could be displayed.

    There's a lot of great public content in the brains at web brain.com, but it's difficult to find it. Please add a search feature to search by author, topic (keywords), and title.

  6. :Cool Iris: picture viewing ability in Brain! Awesome!

    Link or embed the ability to view Attachment pics and document thumbnails in a Zooming fast passed format. Make it so that if you hover over a tag on the side of your brain item, so you quickly look through the pics like one would take a picture book and thumb through hundreds of pictures in just 2 seconds with the ability to stop
    on any one for a zoom in look,This would save me hours a day every day. Great for Graphic Artists, Photographers and anyone who use high volumes of imagery.

  7. Adding customizable variable data (with units) to a thought. theBrain will be able to manage Cost Breakdown structure or schedule.

    Imagine a "variable" tab into a Thought.
    Imagine for exemple in this tab, the variable "selling price" in $ or the variable "cost price", or another exemple "time" in days.

    Imagine I can create, in this tab, a variable which is : "sum of all the "selling price" of all the child".

    With that, I'm able to create a complete Cost Breakdown structure....and with the power of TheBrain, I'm able to create a "flexible point of view" cost Breakdown structure.

    With a variable time, I'm able to create a complete schedule.

  8. make it possible to change the thought focus without changing the thought layout

    When I click on a TAG to review all related thoughts, I would like
    the ability to set the focus on one of the thoughts that are displayed
    without that thought taking center stage. That way I can launch files
    attached to a child thought without having the organizational layout change. I find this view extremely useful for project management.

  9. Open your Brain publicly or privately

    The idea can be summarized in adding two options to open a brain depending on the thought’s privacy. First option is to open the brain privately and this will show all the thoughts in the brain. The second option is to open the brain publicly (this will be much more useful for presentation mode) in this case the brain will only show the thoughts marked as public and will hide the thoughts marked as privet.

  10. 3D view of the brain, visual neuronal structure

    This will let me rotate my brains and see the more important ideas connected in a stellar clusters. The idea 'under work' will be bigger, closer and somehow activated. This is a basic neuronal visual structure.

  12. "Open containing folder" for linked attachments

    Right clicking on an attachment gives the option to "open thought folder", but if an attachment is linked rather than stored within the brain it will not be in the thought folder. Please add a "open containing folder" option to the attachment right-click menu that opens the folder actually containing the linked attachment in Windows Explorer/Finder.

  14. Boolean filtering and time dimension

    The brain is a powerfull application for organizing huge quantities of informations and medias. But when you're done, there are few possibilities to exploit the database.

    A boolean filtering on thought value, type, start time or end time, degree of completion, degree of priority, link type value, tag value that would show the resulting thoughts, and their children would really make this app wonderfull. (the definition of start and end time, degree of completion and priority for a thought is not yet possible :-))

  15. lower the cost to enable users to map/link the application with a database or MS Contacts... for visualization

    here's my 2cent.... it woud be great if you made it cost effect to lower the price to enable thebrain to work with a database... I know there's a version out there that does that, but the price is corporate... what about us individual end users? I think to tie thebrain with for example, a contact management system MS OUTLOOK (the contacts themselves! not just the calendar would be fantastic and have a greater appeal to users... my 2 cents.

  16. Multiple lines for "pin" items

    It's surprising that the "pin list" feature of PB does not support a sort of "wrapping." When we have many pin items, then it would be nice to see the pin items arrayed in multiple rows, like the following:

    Pin 1        Pin 2       ...    Pin N
Pin N+1    Pin N+2   ...    Pin M

    I really wish PB to support the feature.

  18. Provide a "before and after" brain comparison tool with new releases

    TheBrain software should come with a "before and after" brain comparison tool to validate conversion of thoughts, types, tags AND ICONS, or this tool should be made available free of charge upon request.

    My most important brain (of 3 active now) was created with version 4.

    During every upgrade to a new release some thought contents (Notes and links) have been lost, and in the upgrade to version 7 many icons became disconnected from the their thoughts or thought types (I can restore thought type icons by multi-selecting... but it's kind of a pain).

  19. Activate last created thought : shortcut to be used after creation of thought

    Hello,

    I suggest you create a shortcut activating the last created thought and that could be used after creating the new thought.

    The current shortcut (accelerator) has to be used before creation of the thought.
    But a user doesn't always know that he'll have to focus on a thought before creating it.

    Hope you will implement such a function.

  20. Speed up the icon mechanic

    Make the icon dialogue remember favorites or recently used icons for quicker selection. Also make it possible to apply the same icon simultaneously to multiple thoughts, also to speed up selection.
